    Minor correction-- this pack is a 70-75 liter pack, not 50. The main large upper compartment section is about 50L by itself, the description on the tags provided with the pack are a little weird to interpret. Everything my 50L Assaulter Pack holds fits in the main upper compartment, with the lower sectional compartment and top flap and outer side cargo areas still available, not to include the Blackhawk Strike upright GP pouches I have attached on the outside.
    I have another video showing how I pack this Ruck, be sure to check that out too.

      If it is indeed the TT Raid MK III, then the pack is 52 L. I'm assuming you added the front two 2 L pouches, so yours is probably around 56 L.

    • @DJTheMetalheadMercenary
      @DJTheMetalheadMercenary  Před 22 dny +1

      @@mikeymo4 Yeah it holds more than that though, I think they made a mistake on the label and only factored the large inner sectional compartment, my 3-day Condor Assault Pack is 50L, and this holds WAY more than that lol.

      @@DJTheMetalheadMercenary different manufacturers calculate their capacities differently. they are not uniformly calculated. messed up? sure. but it is what it is. not sure who is calculating what and how but i have a 65 L Kelty I've used for years, and it definitely has lots more room than this pack. I'm thinking it isn't too far off from 52 L. in any case, I don't feel the pack should be overpacked. you can tell where to cut it off because the brain won't fit nicely over the top of the compartment. just got mine last week btw! can't wait to put it out in the wilderness and see how she holds up.

    • @DJTheMetalheadMercenary
      @DJTheMetalheadMercenary  Před 6 dny +1

      @@mikeymo4 That is true about different manufacturers calculating things differently, probably closer to 60L honestly if not a tad more notwithstanding the added pouches.
      If someone isn't packing their ruck correctly, yeah they're gonna have a bad time. I've done a dedicated video on how I pack this one, and I have a LOT of space left for ammo, more food, and water along with extras like my helmet on top inside and can still easily get the large lid flap closed.
      Its extremely comfortable, hopefully it suits your needs!

    Coming from the army I never used my regular ruck unless I was doing airborne operations. But they allowed us to use what we wanted as long we could fit are gear. Seeing a lot of military guys using this bag definitely helping with my decision. I was getting ready to buy the 5.11 rush 100 but after all these great videos think ima buy this one. Nice review.

      Heh funny because a lot of kit/ TA50 we were issued we had to use, besides stuff like Day/ Assault Packs we bought so long as they were AR compliant (this was back during the initial years of UCP-ACU being a thing lol).
      This pack is so comfortable!!! Like wearing a cloud compared to the LC2 ALICE or MOLLE II framed Rucks we used.
      Savotta (from Varusteleka) makes a very similar one to this too, both are good to go.

    • @DJTheMetalheadMercenary
      @DJTheMetalheadMercenary  Před rokem +1

      @@GolfRemoEchoGolf2 That's good, proper planning is vital.
      The Elberstock (sp) G4 is just slightly larger than the TT LRRP, I like that pack a lot too but the rifle store portion is a little, cumbersome (the bottom portion that sticks out can bump and rub the back of the legs which sucks in long movements). If that's removable, then that is a fantastic choice to go with too, they make quality stuff and it's got space to boot.
      Both are great options for the space and modularity.
      Just remember, weight is a factor, overloading yourself will be very painful and can cause injuries, so as you know that's something to be mindful of. Additional ammo and food/ water can be carried by hand and distributed between whoever is along for the squad, logistical delegation is important as much as packing the ruck right and what is being brought with.

      It's bigger than a lot of people realize, it's the 2nd biggest sustainment Ruck TT makes and is about 72 liters combined, not 50, something I misread in the specs. It will easily fit a week of stuff/ sustainment with room to boot if you have the sleep system on the outside of the ruck in a harness, that takes up the most space in any ruck besides your dry bag for clothes.

    If someone is searching for the same quality, but more civil looks, than you should check out the mother brand of TT, named Tatonka. The Pyrox 45+10 Bushcraft as example would be the more non military looking counterpart to the Raid Pack MK3, but it is made with Cordura 500 (like the TT Mission Pack MC) instead of Cordura 700. The most other stuff from Tatonka is for trekking and lighter weight. TT also added a new colour to their range, which is interesting for military use and hunting . It's called stonegray IRR, which doesn't reflect IR lights, as the standard olive one does. Ripperkorn did a video on the behavior of the different colours from real Bundeswehr stuff, to civil Bundeswehr looking stuff, tactical shirts, jackets and the differences of the olive pack to the new one in stonegray. It is in german, but a interesting video. I ordered the Raid pack (olive) today, because i found it for 209 Euros in this season. Seems to be somekind of sale out before the new colours or maybe the MKIV is coming out or the shop is refreshing its range.

      Can't let all that PALS/ MOLLE go to waste heheh, on the side pouches integral on the pack is a good spot for some Mag pouches too, then that whole lower section that is the access when sectionally zipped that can have some good stuff put there-- typically I put my much bulkier winter sleep system on the outside there so that space gets used, but that's good real estate.

    How much total weight and for how long until this pack starts feeling uncomfortable? Im thinking of getting this pack but my current base weight is heavy as it is and this pack is heavier then my current pack but in thinking this will be more comfortable even though it heavy.

    • @DJTheMetalheadMercenary
      @DJTheMetalheadMercenary  Před rokem +1

      Total weight is somewhat subjective and METTC dependent and how you pack it and distribute weight throughout matters.
      I've put a lot into this pack (Ammo, Water, clothing, kit items, sleep system, etc.) to the tune of 60 to 80 lbs in the heavier load end, and it is extremely comfortable really the entire time. Obviously you're going to feel some of the weight, but it's not painful or anything, i'm very pleased with it overall.
      The support design and padding of the pack is phenomenal, longest Ruck I've done with it so far is 25 miles and I wasn't uncomfortable at all.
