    Thank you.
I absolutely love these videos. Being able to “meet” the old school guys who’ve done it all when it comes to Opal and hear their stories is absolutely priceless, as well as learning the true history of Australian Opal by the guys who actually made that history.
You guys are legends in minds eye.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, they were pioneers in their field. I only regret not having done this sooner as some are already gone.

Hi Robert, loved watching this wonderful video you made with John. The opals were just superb, l do love them so. John is certainly a seasoned cutter and is so talented, as are you too. It is really good to watch and learn so much. Thankyou to you both. Janice.

Maths to opals! I've lectured in statistics... (fist bump)
I got my phd in soil science, and naturally gravitated to here... some of the geology etc is the same and i understand analytical techniques. The mining aspect absolutely fascinated me...
It's always been a hobby for me, never seriously thought of business although i probably have enough stock for one...

That's the safest option. Treat it as a hobby to begin with. It might grow from there but being on the field is the fastest way to learn this trade.

@diverseopalproducts I have a weird kind of on field experience because I know how to make resource maps. Every now and then I download publicalky available geological data and do some modelling. I have made a few maps with sites of interest for mining sitting around. One day I might take some cores to see what's around
