Specifically, the person that went on a stabbing spree was not an illegal immigrant, but rather a naturalized citizen of over 20 years (Ironically, it was a legal immigrant that used his bike helmet to help fight off the assailant). However, to the contrary, it was being circulated on Twitter by those wishing to engender anger and hatred within certain groups to help organize/mobilize people to riot and demonstrate violently that it was an illegal that was responsible. I just got back from Ireland. I had many conversations with people that are concerned with the hundreds of thousands of immigrants coming into Ireland, being housed in hotels, subsidized by taxpayers, meanwhile there are record numbers of Irish homelessness. Today $20 buys you a meal and in terms of groceries a day or two. People who dont have houses now do not know how they can get one. And even then that likely means leaving the community they live in forever in pursuit of a home - isnt the point of a home to be a member of your community? I began paying rent for the first time in 2014. It was $350 a month. Then it was $450. Then it was $500. Then it was $600. Then it was $800. $930. $1200. Today I pay $1409 for rent in a crappy one bedroom apartment, I drive a piece of shit car that I've had to put $8000+ into repairs in just 3 years. I make $22/hour. And I'm being told Im a fucking loser because I dont make atleast 150k a year. What the fuck am I supposed to do. Context for that Dublin riot - It happened later in the day after 3 kids and a teacher was stabbed by someone that immigrated to here 20 years ago. One of the girls is still in critical condition. The attacker was stopped from doing more damage by a Brazilian guy that is here working and trying to get enough money to bring his family over. There has indeed been a small but vociferous group fomenting anti-immigration hate, they are using the usual social media platforms, organizing protests at immigrant centres. The riots that night were by little scrotes that got their cues off twitter and whatsapp groups, and just ran amok, looting, burning buses, and generally being the most shameful people that Ireland has.

The north of Dublin generally has immigrants and a lower economic status. I just got back from Ireland. I had many conversations with people that are concerned with the hundreds of thousands of immigrants coming into Ireland, being housed in hotels, subsidized by taxpayers, meanwhile there are record numbers of Irish homelessness. The people I talked with were not far right. Not even right. The Irish are the most welcoming people on the planet as far as I can see. It's a BS narrative.

I could care less what they talk about in overtime. They discussed the economy in the second half of the show. John Avlon kept trying to make the argument that the Biden Administration "wasn't telling it well enough" in regards to their economic messaging. But no, its what Bill says immediately after. For those who are 40 and under the remember a time not that long ago that they could purchase a meal for themselves with $10, they could stretch $20 across the week. Today $20 buys you a meal and in terms of groceries a day or two. People who dont have houses now do not know how they can get one. And even then that likely means leaving the community they live in forever in pursuit of a home - isnt the point of a home to be a member of your community?
I began paying rent for the first time in 2014. It was $350 a month. Then it was $450. Then it was $500. Then it was $600. Then it was $800. $930. $1200. Today I pay $1409 for rent in a crappy one bedroom apartment, I drive a piece of shit car that I've had to put $8000+ into repairs in just 3 years. I make $22/hour. And I'm being told Im a fucking loser because I dont make atleast 150k a year. What the fuck am I supposed to do.
Also if we're all supposed to just leave our jobs in pursuit of $150k a year.... that means people will have to work 2-3+ jobs, engage in business practices that encourage exploitation, and maybe even still end up failing or dead from stress. Isn't somebody supposed to do the normal jobs? What about the people who have been working the same job across the last ten years. Are they bad people because they didn't chase a buck harder?
While all this is happening we're being told that we're wrong AND that we're ingrates because we want an economy that works. I went to college. I'm having a baby any second now, my wife is 8 months pregnant. Whether Biden likes it or not I need him right now. And the way the administration is handling us as Americans and as Democrats.... The only thing that saved my ass is we bought our home when it was cheap in 2002. We bought vehicles that were cheap back then and made them last. This is inflation “greed”is out of control. Housing out of control. Wages suppressed. Etc. I’m worry for my kids. How can I ask my kids to move out to pay $2000 rent for a 1 bedroom apartment. Stay home and live a simple life instead of stressing about every dollar you make. There is my 2 cents.

Context for that Dublin riot - It happened later in the day after 3 kids and a teacher was stabbed by someone that immigrated to here 20 years ago. One of the girls is still in critical condition. The attacker was stopped from doing more damage by a Brazilian guy that is here working and trying to get enough money to bring his family over.
There has indeed been a small but vociferous group fomenting anti-immigration hate, they are using the usual social media platforms, organizing protests at immigrant centres. The riots that night were by little scrotes that got their cues off twitter and whatsapp groups, and just ran amok, looting, burning buses, and generally being the most shameful people that Ireland has.
That's said as if ignoring the modern history of Ireland, and now obviously swarmed with immigration that doesn't assimilate. Why have someone like Collin MacGregor running for prime minister.

They got the Ireland riot all wrong. First, there was a stabbing of Irish Children by an immigrant. The area was near the north. The north of Dublin generally has immigrants and a lower economic status. Even though it was a white Irish Woman and a Brazilian immigrant who stopped the guy with the knife, the right wing (largely motivated by what they see as illegal or too much legal immigration) then went into the streets and caused the riot. They also went after the Irish Guards/Police because they perceived them to be protectors of immigrants more than native born Irish. Add to this real estate speculation, and foreign investment has made Ireland the richest per capita country in Europe, but also has resulted in many Irish in Dublin unable to buy homes - and Dublin is where all the jobs are in the Republic. Finally, most Irish were appalled at everything that happened. BUT, it underscores that there is trouble brewing in the Irish paradise...
