It’s actually a REALLY bad habit Dr Peterson has. When he says “and you can tell what you think of this” it’s him showing self consciousness about the fact that he knows he should ask a question or stop talking.

His mother would call me crying hysterically saying "I don't think he's ever coming back. He's completely gone." It was horrible.
He got through it though, and he came out 3 or 4 months later looking like a full person again.
But he couldn't stay away from it, and he's back on Xanax & methadone prescribed both.

Never been more excited for a Club Random episode and I wasn't a bit disappointed, it even went better than I expected.
Jordan Peterson even broke Bill's wall a bit. Bill went from laughing at the Sodom and Gomorrah analogy to being mind-blown. Peterson has a way of breaking down archetypes and making them so relatable to the present day.

Not sure it's an analogy. Idk... I watch the archaeological CZcams videos on Sodom and Gomorrah - the cities of the plains near the Dead Sea in Israel. There are dozens of them. They will make you think

@@Graacee11111 I'm not saying the story itself is an analogy. I mean Jordan Peterson used it in this context as one. Like, 'forget about the struggle of how factual this is, or isn't, and use it in this way'. That's where I'm coming from.

The reason why Jordan Peterson always breaks down everything into the tidy bits of understanding, is because he goes out of his way to portray himself in such behavior.
We fail to understand that the only way you or I can understand how people function as a collective and individual, is analyzing our own conducts and behaviors in life and owning such episodes, so that we don’t get stuck in them.
We all have behaved in one moment or another, or for a day or two, in any of the personality traits he described…unfortunately not everybody is willing to break their own ego and humble themselves to accept it, express it, and deal with it, like he says, for so many people it’s just easier to stay that way and that’s when they become definitely one of those archetypes.

@@Ch7oma I hear ya, I never, EVER would've thought I'd see Bill take someone's interpretation of a Biblical story seriously, but it's right in front of us here. I watched the entire series of Peterson breaking down the stories of Genesis several years ago, and I don't really care how right he got the message from the original authors, because there's a whole array of lessons/morals-of-the-story/etc that he describes which are perfectly applicable to anyone living in the 21st century

Yes! It's nice to see the bible studied like the mythology that it is, rather than like the nut job evangelicals who take it literally.

You can always tell when Bill likes the conversation. This interview went almost 2 hours, most of the ones I've seen lately were about an hour or a hair more.

It’s like people want to listen to priests. That’s the end goal of his character arc. Disguised moral authoritary in the name of his God, the God of the Bible.
It’s spirirual indoctrination or education depending on your view of the world.

One of, if not THE best interviews Bill has done. The honesty, on both sides, is key, I think….and the stories from college days had me rolling.👍

It's amazing, people having different opinions and still treating each other with respect and letting the other side have their say as well.
