My sister once told my mom she’d call CPS over some banal reason and she responded “call them. They’ll come and take you to a foster home, probably split you and your siblings up, and you can sleep in bunk beds with 5 other kids to a room.” That was the last time my sister used that tactic

Not exactly the same thing here, but I was ratted out to the police for a dumb kid thing (thanks Ray!). They came on a Sunday morning, my mom answered the door with her plate of pancakes, let them in and said they were here for me and just went back to eating. I was so isolated at that moment, so very much on my own that I never did anything like that again. Tough moms are the best moms, I’m glad you’re holding the line with your kids.

I became a single father after 17 years of marriage. My sons mother, due to the lousy healthcare system died from cancer. Two weeks after the funeral sitting at the kitchen. How am I going to raise a 7 and 11 year old sons that were hurt because their mother died. Then it dawned on me. Marine Corp barracks. I screamed down the hall at the boys and to got into the living room. Told them I loved them, I can't run this house alone, you're going to have have learn some new skills like washing cloths, dishes and cooking. 10 years later, the boys took me out on Mother's Day. I was given a Mother's Day Card. "Happy Mother's Day, Dad. Mom would be proud." The youngest turned down three full ride college scholarships enlisted in the military, oldest now runs a family business and side hustles. Tough Love never hurt any kid.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Hunter dealt with his brother and beat friend dying of cancer. That would push anyone over the deep end. I bet Bill Maher owns a gun and is addicted to drugs, maybe he should get charged with gun charges too. Maher never went to law school and passed the bar like Hunter. Boy the parenting thing. Dual national military family, now expats & retired. I have to say the best thing we did was raise our girls away from heavy family influence. & they had ZERO TV until early teens - dvds of all sorts, yes, (including lots of 60’s sitcoms 😂) - but no TV. Plenty of outdoor time & reading. No cell phones until teens & they had to pay for them. We did little online monitoring because they were very sensible & discerning by the time they encountered online culture.
I know this isn’t possible for everyone, but it’s important to establish a healthy family culture & guard it from destructive influences.

I own a business and 2 employees have quit because I , as the owner, had to call them out (and I did it very cordially) on serious mistakes they made. They ended up quitting. My thought was "are you serious acting like the victim" ? These youngsters are over sensitive and don't want to own up to mistakes, or like being told they did something wrong. They don't think they do anything wrong.
One of them blamed me and called out red flags for lack of communication. They wanted to gas light me for their own mistakes
    It's unbelievable.

Nobody watches CNN! More people watch fox, according to ratings. I dont watch any of the lying media outlets but fox has beaten cnn in ratings. So not sure why you got confused about that. Cnn needs trump. Trump doesn’t need cnn. Trump can use twitter and get way more views than cnn could bring in. Tucker carlson proved that.
