- In this wood turning video I turn a natural edge bowl from an Ash crotch log, I was a bit gutted to lose all the natural colours that were on this log, I thought the finished piece was a bit bland in comparison..

I always love it when you leave the "natural" edge on a piece. Great work even if it's not what you hoped for.
So I woke up on a not very promising Friday morning thinking I could just fancy one of your videos as I think about getting up and giving the cat his breakfast and there you are with a natural edge bowl too which are my absolute favourites. What a treat! There's nothing wrong with it Andy, it's beautiful and one of your specialities. Your "bread and butter" pieces put everyone else's best efforts in the shade. Yes, I like the coloured pencils, the many-coloured mosaics, the free-ring goblets, the triumph of ingenuity and technique over materials; but finding the beauty in the most unpromising chunk of timber is real craftsmanship. The rest is highly enjoyable showing off!
