Would you like to see a jetting video?
Stupid question . sure Yes.
Cameron Niemela yes sure
Cameron Niemela duhhh
YES for sure.
Cameron Niemela yes wc
When you pass the four stroke, it is running correctly.
Passed ktm 450 on cr500 uh yeah
No that's normal you can pass the 4 stroke on a shot piston ezz claps
Once you lap the 4 stroke it's running alright
Teemu yes but who’s piston will last longest with it pinned ?
@@mike-ws8yh If they are both are getting the proper A/F ratio, both will untill they run out of fuel.
When you think you blew your 2stroke up but you put a new spark plug in and it starts right up
Lmao
Cherokee93 thats always a relief
My old ktm did that alot😂
Been there, done that. I nearly gave myself a heart attack because it happened the night before I was going to sell it.
NK Motor that means you ran it too lean
Im honestly so jealous of how well your bike runs
I would love a series where you teach us all the ins and outs of 2 strokes and how they are supposed to be put together and how they run and then also trouble shooting 2 strokes and figuring out what is causing diff problems bc I can never seem to figure out exactly whats wrong with my bikes and I have always wanted to be able to rebuild an entire 2 stroke without help from anyone else but need a mentor to learn from.. what do ya say up for it hahaha
The time and effort you put into these videos is greatly appreciated my man, the shots, editing and audio are great. Keep it up!! Greetings from Greece. Subscribed.
I love how easy you make all of this, i am mechanic as well but everytime i look up on your videos i learn something new that has been in front of my eyes all time like this spark plug video where you show up how the timing is checked, it's pretty simple how you read that much informations out of one spark plug, i only knew like how to read a few things from it but you showed me like 2-3 new things which are pretty amazing, keep up the good work, for me your channel and you are the best i found in about last 2 years im looking for dirtbikes and such videos. You are amazing, i love how you made easy that Honda CR engine, from painting to polishing parts till it's running, you are my idol!
I finally got a two-smoker after turning 50. I love my YZ! I learned alot on this video, looking forward to more of them.
I had one that would scare the shit out of anyone who tried to ride it. Ported and built to the hilt. It would stand up in every gear and you didnt have to touch the clutch. Be running 60mph and just give it some more throttle and up it would come unless it decided to set the tire on fire.
Cam I appreciate you taking time to put out some killer videos. You break things down in a way that even a stoner like me can understand. With your help I’m done paying $50-$80/hour
WC
Another great video! Keep up the good work! Finally someone that takes the time to post all of the essentials rather than going through 30 videos before finding a decent one. You may have the best dirtbike channel for the average consumer that can not afford $1000 specialty tools to do a job due to you not trying to “sell a product”!
If you ever need any ideas for some maintenance oriented video ideas feel free to shoot me a message. I have a small list because I was gonna start doing similar videos but you have the following and you are good at it, so may as well keep it all in one place.
I liked that you showed the plug chop. Easy to learn from. I read it in a book years ago and took me a bit to figure out where to cut it right.
Cheers dude, just getting into 2 strokes and basics like this are just invaluable.
I would much rather replace the spark plug and clean the pipe than do a rebuild
The exhaust pipe? Thanks
Dominik Z. Yes
You need to rebuild a twostroke, they lose compression over time.
@@CoachSludge same as a 4stroke
@Dennis in finland we do 2% mix on 50cc's
Hi Cameron, Thank you so much for these very informative videos, they are very much appreciated. I would certainly like to watch an in-depth video on two stroke carburettor jetting principles. Rather like cause and effect, what happens if and what you can hear and feel when riding the bike. May be starting with float height and it's effect. Then covering from idle to 1/4 throttle, 1/4 to 1/2, 1/2 to 3/4 and 3/4 to 4/4. The effect of the pilot circuit, needle base diameter, throttle slide cut away, needle position, main jet. I have heard that VP fuels makes for an ideal constant from gas station quality fuel, so many be that is for another brilliant must watch video. All the very best from Robert :-)
WC! Great video Cameron! Love watching these and I learn so much from them you give so much detail which no other CZcamsr really does! Keep up the hard work!
This is an awesome video. Very informative. Glad to say I've learnt something new again. Every day! Thanks buddy you are a wealth of information when it comes to bikes.
Great video. You hear a lot of "gurus" talking about this but you actually showed it. Great job.
I learn so much from you, dude. Thanks for all you do!
Great information. Choosing the proper air fuel ratio; can really save your 2-stroke engine; If too lean You will promote seizure, of the piston in the cylinder. On a 2-stroke proper mixture and proper spark plug heat range, spark plug heat range is critical, also.
WC! Great video man, I just bought a 2 stroke 125 today and your videos inspired to me to get a 2 stroke!
My Daughter has been watching your vids and is learning a lot. She is 13 and has done well racing but she want to be able to maintain her on bike. Thanks for all the good info and if you have anymore WC stickers we would send back pics of her bike with them on it.
Very helpful and appreciative! I’m new to the 2 stroke life and I’m learning a lot! Thank you
Aaron Vito make sure you let your bike warm up for a few minutes; and don't ride it super hard for a little whole, let the bike get all the engine parts nice & warmed up.most 2 strokes blubber & don't rev until they get warmed up
Thanks for the awesome video man, I learned more in your 11 minute video than I have in the past year on youtube!! Thanks bro!!
WC, love the videos dude, always finish each video with having learnt something new!
I have an 04 Cr125 with low hours and it was just completely rebuilt , love the thing , great bikes and if only honda would come out with the CR line up again
There’s definitely plenty of people out there(including myself) that could learn a lot from a jetting video!
I keep coming back to your vids for refreshers. The 2stroke jetting vid was excellent!!!
WC I miss you man I didn’t get to see some of your video but I’m hear to catch up and listen to the knowledge you got on these dirtbike have a good summer
“A tad bit lean makes more power”
On 2 strokes, “a tad bit lean” also leads to 20 hour pistons, and 50 hour rod bearings. And hopefully not a worn out or scored cylinder wall.
“If you’re fouling plugs, you definitely need to lean your mixture”
Definitely not. You need to check your jetting first. Telling these young cats to just start leaning without background of jetting and how one adjustment affects another is gonna cause them to clap their engine out.
Teach these kids better.
Neal Archer that's why no one will remember your name.Lol
Shut up noob
If I'm gonna be a "tad bit" anything, it's gonna be rich. Because that's the responsible way that grownups tune
Eh who cares just mix 32:1 and buy a lectron carb, simple problem solved
@@braaap5.7 hahhahahahahahahaha, and run some 115 octane to further lean it out hahhahahahahahahahahah, I know you are joking though just agreeing with your joking
Nice vid, 100 hours on a YZ490 and 250 plus on the KX500 . Plugs on the 500's were never a problem but made a point to change the plug every 6 months. Always run my bikes at 40:1 synthetic. Five cents.
And no gloves when you rode it. ? Are you mad ?
WC i love the little things you do to keep your bike running mint.
WC, Thanks for the tips, im getting my first two stroke tommorow i will sure need these tips!
Best dirt bike youtuber!!!
I have learned with the pre mix, that the type of oil will give you what you need for the type of riding you are doing. My Rm 250 runs klots super techniplate on trails at 32:1 all day long with perfect jetting, if I run castor 927 it fouls plugs. Exact same conditions at wide open on the track gives me no issues with castor 927. Oil flashpoint was something I never thought of during 20 years of riding. I am not a believer in changing premix ratio's.
WC - love your vids Cam - I’ve learned a ton of stuff from you, all the way down here in Australia! Keep it up Mate
Cameron..I want to thank you for giving me the courage to take on forkseals on my cr 125..saved me money n gave me confidence..thx again..my son donovan lee cruz could use your help in restoring his kx 100..

WC. Definitely do a 2 stroke jetting video!
WC. Great video! Love watching and learning new things. Keep up the good work!
WC! How clean your bike is allways amazes me
There is no leaner or richer when you are talking about the oil. The bike can be jetted to run on the ratio selected the difference would be what the bike is used for, high load=more oil, low load =less oil. 32:1 is a leaner burn than 40:1 this is because the oil displaces the gasoline and since two stroke oil is designed to resist burning and not aid or alter combustion the burn becomes leaner when more oil is added not richer. The oil is then pooled and pushed out in the pipe and on the spark plug because the bikes air fuel ratio is off and cannot use the oil for fuel. Don't try to fix a run ability issue with oil ratios. Choose a realistic oil ratio for your riding, stick to it and jet the bike to run correctly.
@@aaronanderson7619 older 2 strokes 32:1 all day.
i usually just go for 50:1 oil mix on my dt125. doesnt seem to need more oil
4,5% oil mix worked way better than 2,5% on my tdr 125 that was modded full power. It just consumes more of fuel/oil. I'll replace sparkplug soon and see if she runs better
Not sure if I'm reading this correctly, but are you saying 32:1 is leaner than 40:1 so more oil is leaner?? I thought less oil is leaner
I was running at 33:1 and found that plugs were fouling and bogging down a little then changed my ratio to 40:1 and didn't have the same problems, so by what your saying my bike was jetted for a 40:1 ratio and by me using less oil is not running a leaner fuel mixture, is that correct? sorry for my naivety i am just trying to learn
I dont even have a 2 stroke but i watch videos like this 😆
WC! Amazing video Cameron, really informative.
This is the best explanation I've seen. This is really valuable stuff. I'll be doing this tomorrow on my LT 250r I'm trying to dial in. If you were on LBRY, I would be able to throw you some support!
Have you ever done jetting by using the same chop throttle test run, but rather than reading the plug, read the size of the unburnt fuel wet spot on the piston at the transfers? A small wet spot about the size of a dime is about perfect. This would be for a higher compression ratio of around 15:1 or 16:1. I have never done this using pump gas so don't know if reading is the same.
Wish I had your tutorials man when I had my 2003 125SX!! Very well explained and an exceptional amount of detail dude! Keep up the tutorials!
WC
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Cameron :) I learned a few handy things today!
Just went to my local motorsports, picked up a new spark plug, and it looks on the more rich side. Thanks man, this worked on KX 250. Also want the WC stickers
Hey Cameron, your cr 250 is looking mint;
Trying to convert mine from mikuni to keihin pwk , struggling to cure its bad jetting (low end ) tried swapping pilot jet etc, it’s at 55pilote , 172 main , second clip
Just got myself a yz 125 but i'm in a higher altitude and need rejetting an in dept tutorial would be ideal!! So yes make one pleaseee, great vid by the way:)
Awesome video! This channel has ton of useful info, tnx Cameron!
Wc another great video mate. Alot of details that would never think about it when changing the plug 👌
Love this video- been a rider/mechanic for hundreds of years...this explains the spark read very well. Now I have to go look at my shitty bathed in oil plug and lean her out. :-)
Wow finally a useful 2 stroke video, this is underrated
Once again another awesome and extremely informative video. Keep up the good work. WC!
WC, great video man, your always the best when it comes to dirt bike videos
Please do a jetting video
HoldSilver yess
Do a jetting video, but with sounds and behavior...every jetting vid on youtube just shows what jets basically do what and how to physically change them...which is useless unless you're really dumb. "If your bike sounds like this, it's caused by this..." and "change jet(s) to XYZ to correct ABC behavior" would be WAY more useful. I'm new to 2T so this would be a huge help. I'm like 1 day away from selling some toys and buying a lectron (which may be better for me anyway).

Exceptional tutorial Cameron. Thanks, and subscribed!
WC, thanks for hte great video, its the best explanation I've seen so far on this type of topic!! Thanks Cameron!
Ist it running just right? Easy, take out your earplugs, put your head near the expansion chamber and if when you rev it up it makes the back of your throat itch, it's spot on.
LMFAOOO
I think it's better too keep it a tiny bit rich so you won't risk blowing it up.
No way lean as you can and change piston regular they are cheap anyway
@@Drift-fpv yeah just like doing a full engine rebuild, those are super cheap and easy too!!!
fuck off man, going lean on your 2 stroke means less life, going too lean leads to half hour piston replacements
Drunk Santa what
Cr500, 40:1 on the mixture, a tad fat on the jetting to keep it cool. Happy days.
Rich means more gas..just an fyi..
Awesome vid. Every time I watch your videos I learn something. Thanks
WC keep up the good work! I miss seeing the teardown videos.
Hey Cameron, my Ktm 125sx 2012 sounds like a 4 stroke while riding, its a 2 stroke tho, i mix it to 40:1 think its getting to much gas/oil mixture, sounds very heavy and the power kicks in super late, HELP??
Mika Siereveld -_- ur jetting running rich
Pian Mohd nope its running stock
Pian Mohd it was old feul sounds right now
@@mikasiereveld3124 smh...
Air filter clean or totally clogged? Reeds have a ton of time on them? FRESH fuel? Check this stuff out.of course, if your bike had a billion rides on it, the crank seals could be letting motor oil into the combustion area
You bike is smoking a lot, clear indication there’s oil getting into your gas, you need to rebuild it

Hahaha time to part it out!

or too much oil
Graham Vandermark its a 2 stroke oil is going to be mixed with the gas
Yamaha Moto Vlogz Oh really? I had absolutely no idea 😒

thank you for this educational video, getting back into riding after quite a few years and this really helped with the older bike i purchased
WC you are my favorite dirt bike mechanic and have taught me so many tips and tricks
WC. great videos man !!!! Cant wait to see the 250 complete.
Please make a how to jet video
you prefer a leaner jet setting? a bit dangerous I would say. you know 2 stroke engines are really prone to overheating and you will never know when is your unlucky day. I know it will make more power when it is a tad leaner, but does it worth it? maybe for you yes, but not for me. I seized my vespa before because of a lean setting and i will not make the same mistake again.
To be fair, a Vespa is made for riding around cities and getting coffee where as Honda designed the CR125 as a race bike (back when people still raced 125s) that can handle more abuse than that. I don't think that they are really as comparable as what you may think.....
Mohammad Farhan Sukarjo if you running good quality fluid it should be perfect v
Travis Stewart is he talking about a 50cc 2 stroke scooter ?
Mtb Ridingog No, It is a fully upgraded engine that I used for a weekend track day and I sometimes I use it as a commuter. I understand CR engine is not a direct comparison with an air cooled engine, but better say than sorry. :) Sometimes you will never know what is going to happen on 2 stroke bike. for example, an old rubber intake will get cracked and it will make a lean engine even leaner and it will be too late before you notice the problem while riding. so it is better to get the setting right on the spot so that hopefully seized engine can be prevented.
Cacki lol what brand is the scooter
WC. Viewer all the way from Australia! Enjoy watching all of your vids man keep it up.
I have Y125Z… the same method as I do here… it is totally perfect solution for discover setting our own bike needed.. especially main jet & pilot jet adjustment… great man..

It's just the oil mixed with gas
mag or lag and some cigrits

If a 2 stroke ain't smoking it's bad. If a 2 stroke is smoking then leave it.
Fortteen too much oil would make it smoke, its not a good thing , jetting could still be way off
John Davidson they've been running for years.
Too much premix oil = lean , less premix = rich 👍🏼
Fortteen they will still run for years with too much oil just not as well, will be down on power and foul plugs more frequently
