    Thanks for a great video (and many other great videos :)). I notice that you have the Mr Hobby Aqueous paints (light blue label, not cellulose based, paint code starting with H-,) and the Mr Color thinner (dark blue label/yellow label, cellulose based) which is actually for their cellulose based range of paints (number not starting with H). I believe the Mr Hobby Aqueous thinner (light blue label), which goes with your paints, is very much like Tamiya X-20A.

    Wonder if it's about time you did a up dated version scale model paint guide as there are some new brands out there and some of the current brands have adjusted there formulas as well. Also your group have come out with some very good items as well that can be included in the mix as well.

    Apologies if I've missed this but as a newbie in the hobby which acrylic paints would you recommend while I'm totally hand-brushing? I hear Tamiya can be difficult to use. Thanks for all the tips, They are helping me loads!

    I can't thank you enough for your videos - they have been enormously helpful. A couple of questions:
    I found that Mr. Color has replaced Mr. Hobby due to concerns regarding the solvent levels - do you find the quality of Mr. Color is equal to Mr. Hobby?
    I did not see any of the Testor brand paints mentioned (including Pactra, Model Master and other sub-brands). Is this because they are not available in the U.K., Or some other reason for this?
    Many thanks again, and Cheers from the States!

    On aircraft models can the Alclad Klear Kote Gloss be painted over Vallejo Air painted surfaces before and after Decals are applied?
    Then can we use Vellejo Air again over the Alclad Klear Kote Gloss to weather and finally finish with Alclad Klear Kote matte?

  • @jonnyjap
    @jonnyjap Před 8 lety

    Hi, if you want to get the best gloss finish ever EVER , forget using an airbrush - go to any car parts shop and buy a can of Hycote Acrylic Clear Lacquer for about £4.99, it goes on amazing and safe to put over decals if you use a dust coat first. Trust me you won't use anything again for a gloss finish. You can cut and polish it to a glass finish.

      Hey sas bodyguard if you piss the Tamiya XF paints right up with X20A thinner and put them in a dropper bottle with a size 0 fishing sinker for a agitator ball. I have found the paint is very useable for brush painting. I have been using my Tamiya paints alot since I have done this. Let me know what you think. Clem

      I hve been using Tamiya for a while anyway I know about x20a and I use it

    • @Paul-ProscaleModels
      @Paul-ProscaleModels Před 10 lety

      sasbodyguard The problem with vallejo is that it doesn't like tamiya X20a thinner, we developed out own thinner (Ulitmate modelling thinner) and it works perfectly with all acrylic paints (I've tested everyone out there) its also the only thinner to do this too, it works much better than x20a. I haven't used x20a for months now and will never go back to it
