not yet. but according to the modernization program, Philippines are wanting to have a proper capable military. slowly they are upgrading. most air asset are being modernize and a planning to acquire proper fighter jet. Also area access denial equipment are being purchase from brahmos missiles system to spyder air defense system. Navy are also modernizing, Philippine intetnt to have submarine fleet and modern surface vessel are all in negotiation. Remember Philippines have suffered from a long period of insurgency and are now shifting focus from internal defense to external defense. We the Filipino are now experiencing an unprecedent military budget increase from what we are used to. again slowly, the Philippines are on it's way to have a credible modern military force at least for defending it's sovereignty. All of this are possible because of the economic growth of the Philippines which proven in the past year, also thru aids and grants given to us by our ally and other like-minded nations such as south korea, japan and india.

No one was going to invade pH to begin with. There's nothing there except poverty and disease and corruption and problems.
As for the disputed islands, USA has never recognized ph claims, and has never sailed warships with ph coastguard or military ships to help them regain their islands or advance their claims or anything.
So sure, good deal I guess if you expected nothing in return for those bases.
That wasn't a deal. That was Bb marcos having no choice but to do what usa told him since they control billions of his corrupt families money in USA and they have charges having over his head right now and for the next few years. They delayed his case just so they can hang it over his head for his whole presidency.

I think, our ancestors protected our country using low-end firepower equipment against US and Japan and yet we still won our battles. The Korean war against China that our troops have joined before was also won even if the number of our troops are significantly smaller than China. War is all about strategy and determination and courage regardless of advancement of weapons and arms equipment. I believe that our military will win against any evil who wants to invade our territory. We never initiates any war. We are only fighting to help and most importantly, TO PROTECT AND DEFEND.

    • @ex0duzz
      @ex0duzz Před 8 měsíci

You didn't win anything. You lost and got colonized by everyone for centuries. Ph should not be in Korea even, it was a vassal state army under USA at the time and today it still is. Sand as sk and Japan.
You can't even defend against your own home grown corruption, let alone foreign attacks. They don't need to invade when they own your president and control billions of his money and have charges hanging over his head in USA. They just install puppet dictators like Marcos family and other families to do their bidding for them.
I mean it was usa who invaded, colonized, killed and raped 500,000 Pinoys, and yet now pinoy loves them and look at them as their best friend when they never left with their military and ph has never gotten over its colonization, both in reality and mentally. Most filo would rather think of themselves as westerners or Spanish rather than Asian, and all want to live in USA or be american rather than Pinoy. There's a massive inferiority complex. The women all chase after white cock and all go be maids and mail order bribes. Similar to Japan and sk, but even worse since pH is super poor on top and thus are far "easier". Same with geopolitics. Just a few billion and threat of criminal charges in USA can control ph through BB Marcos completely.
Ph is corrupt as hell and compromised leadership for centuries already. Not much to be proud of there if I was ph myself. Duterte was heading in the right direction with giving ph their confidence back, but BB completely sold out and destroyed that.

The AFP should better be more vigilant. If and when the shooting starts, we might be fending on our own since the U.S. might hold off unless the Chinese directly assault the Americans.
The Americans might continue to furnish us with supplies and equipment, of course. But for how long? Even now, the U.S. Congress won't approve its next budget for Ukraine seeing that there is no significant progress being made by Zelenskyy, Israel needs help, and the Immigration Problem in the South is continually spreading inwards, starting with the Sanctuary Cities all over the U.S., like a festering malignancy.
As Russia is pushing Ukraine without remorse for the loss of lives of its own troops, 14,400+ and counting, the same thing will happen when the Chinese come. In the '70s, we were discussing how the Chinese would win a Global War against the U.S. without firing a shot -- by just surrendering half of its population to the U.S. of A., rendering them Bankrupt, just to accommodate and feed all the approx. 500M people China would give away! They have another 6-700M in population reserve anyway.
I wish and I hope, I'm wrong about all this.

Last December 20, 2023, President Bongbong Marcos Jr signed the 2024 General Appropriations Act amounting to 5.768 trillion pesos. In the 2024 National Budget, the Department of National Defense received a total of 238,356,544,000 Billion pesos which is itemized into different agencies under DND.
    A. Office of the Secretary - 1,263,480,000
    B. Government Arsenal - 2,071,997,000
    C. National Defense College of the Philippines - 187,392,000
    D. Office of Civil Defense - 2,119,478,000
    E. Philippine Veterans Affairs Office - 677,333,000
    F. Veterans Memorial Medical Center - 2,714,183,000
    G. Armed Forces of the Philippines - 229,322,681,000 and is divided into three major AFP Services.
    . Philippine Army - 123,186,120,000
    . Philippine Air Force - 45,153,842,000
    . Philippine Navy - 41,388,723,000
    H. General Headquarters, Afp and Afp-Wide Service Support Units (AFPWSSUS) - 19,593,996,000
For 2024, the AFP Modernization will have a total funding of 40 Billion Pesos, and an unprogrammed fund intended for AFP Modernization will amount to another 10 Billion Pesos, this the 2024 AFP Modernization Law will have a total funding of 50 Billion Pesos.
The 2024 National Expenditure Program which is the draft of the 2024 General Appropriations Act, the AFP Modernization law has a total funding of 50 Billion Pesos, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro has requested a total funding of 100+ Billion Pesos for the AFP Mod fund, but the approved budget from DBM is fixed at 50 Billion Pesos.
During the DND budget deliberation in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, a lot of pledges have been made to make a "significant" increase in the DND's budget particularly in the modernization funds, as this fund is vital in the acquisition and upgrading of incoming and existing AFP assets and facilities.
Sec. Teodoro understands that his department's request for 100 Billion pesos in modernization funds is a "long shot" and his department is even open to a compromise modernization fund of between 60-70 Billion Pesos. But it seems their plead falls on deaf ears. Even amid the ongoing tensions the Philippines has with China, and after the harassment the Philippines received from China in the past months, it seems the message was not clearly seen by our legislators who have the "power of the purse" in approving any requested fund.
The 50 Billion Pesos AFP Modernization fund is slightly higher than the 2023 modernization fund which has a total amount of 45 Billion Pesos. The additional amount will help to conclude the remaining amount of some of the projects concluded in 2020 and 2021, but adding the projects that were concluded in 2022 like the navy Corvette, OPV, and additional Landing Platform dock ships which have bigger milestone payments will probably use more chunk from that afp modernization fund.
But even so, those project's milestone payments will still reach for another few years. And the 2024 modernization fund can still be used to start another important project for the AFP which is the Multi-Role Fighter acquisition project.
Bons Cue Ph hopes, that despite this development of having the "less desired" modernization fund for the AFP Modernization program after the said "commitments" and "pledges" given by our dear legislators to increase it significantly. The administration of DND and the National Government have found another way of having the needed military hardware and facilities through other means, and that is with the help of our allies.

PH very down under 30 years of past 5 president's. Economy down and Filipino people became miserable, chaos and poverty. When Duterte start, a bit changes and improvement happened, military and economy have improved, peaceful improved. Now under new Marcos PBBM, it's a continuation of Duterte's program plus additional improvement in military and economic policy. Sad to say that PH being downed for 30 years of past 5 president's, while neighboring countries growned up for 30 years that's why now Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, etc are ahead the Philippines. We hope the PH can recover the 30 years losses under the past 5 president's. Good start from Duterte and now PBBM, the next to PBBM should be strong, competent and love our people and our country. And Russia UNLIKE China has much more experience in combat and their doctrines are failing them. The Chinese haven’t deployed since the late 70s where they lost to Vietnam in less than three months . All their operational experience has translated to “theory” and simulation training in 2023 - they haven’t fielded out anything in decades . They’re a paper Tiger , they look and seem impressive on display , but like the Russians (whose combat doctrine the Chinese emulate and whose hierarchical and structural military culture are very similar - eg “face saving” - corruption in every level at the lowest levels , and an NCO Corp that has no operational independence and reliant on orders from officers instead of self sufficient command when necessary, we are getting a preview of what to see in Ukraine) - the Ph may be under equipped or out dated but the PH has continual operational experience in actual combat operations very regularly along with their cross training with allied nations.

They don’t want to risk repeating the “century of humiliation” so they will posture and attempt to push and pressure it’s neighbors and bark at bigger foes until it feels sure it can go toe to toe. Right now due to domestic troubles , the idea of distracting their population by aiming them towards nationalistic pursuits before they’re even ready is an option.
Regarding your question with Russians and Americans , who would fall in a war faster , the Russians seem to be falling in droves against Ukrainian forces alone , pushing forward on sheer human life expenditure. The Russians have lost their geopolitical position and their military mystique has been debunked in front of the world , if they never invaded ukraine the world may have never seen its weaknesses and how outdated and out of practice they are , they could have settled for riding out the Cold War mystique , as of now they don’t even rate against the major powers of the world if it’s being matched militarily by ukraine. A country whose forces while very tenacious and dedicated and trained , aren’t exactly the most powerful military force on the planet.
And historically speaking , Russia and China have never balked at expending numbers of its people - sometimes they’ve won often times they’ve lost because they never seemed to outgrow that level of inefficiency of force expenditure.

That's why ph got colonized completely by Spain, USA, Japan, USA, etc for the last few centuries without any real fight.
Comparing yourselves to Vietnamese is a disgrace to Vietnam. They beat USA, beat france etc, while pH never beat Spain, never beat usa, and not just that but instead the men bent over and opening their women's legs for their former and current coloniser which they supposedly LOVE now lol. Still occupied military and still opening more new bases for USA to be their puppet and cannon fodder.
If you're so strong like Vietnam, then do like Vietnam and kick usa out and take care of your own security with your own ability. No? Then don't talk big and certainly don't compare yourself to Vietnam. Even NK does this and as a result has more respect from other countries than pH. Including USA. The will treat Kim as an equal, and not as a puppet dog like BB. Kim can and will talk whatever he wants, that is real sovereignty and strength.. Even being a us puppet and support, pH still poorest country in Asia basically. At least sk, japan etc while puppets and also occupied got their country developed and modernized.
Duterte knew what was up and about real pride and sovereignty for Philippines. Kicked out USA, and can say whatever he wants without fear. BB just a US puppet, sold out pH to USA and will never be able to talk freely about anything since he has no pride nor strength to do so.

As expected, a small archipelago compared to the more advanced Spain at that time, what do yo you expect of the outcome. 2) US, during the Philippine-American War, the US annexed Philippines after the Spanish occupation, but Filipino forces fought for it. The names Antonio Luna, Gregorio Del Pilar, Macario Sakay are some of the brave soldiers who fought in this battle. 3) Japan, Filipino soldiers fought beside with US soldiers, against Japanese invasion culminating in the Death March. So you see, you just need to read some history books not just the propaganda news issued by the communist Ch*na. Add to these invasions are the UN peacekeeping missions in South Korea. This country has soldiers that are war-tested.

one of the best aspects that the Philippines have and why it's still formidable force was it's soldiers was training was mastered in jungle Warfare that alone is the biggest reason. they maybe lacked modern equipments but their soldiers have the best morale. Fighting spirit and the Superior tactics
And like i said earlier Filipino soldiers are been proven many times in history there's alot of instances of it so i suggested you search some and see it for yourself..

Do you really belive that? As chinese , we dont really want to humiliate developing countries armys . But the fact was , all of the vassal countries army (12 countries )are just jokers in the Korean war . They have never get involved in such large scale warfare in their lives. If 20% of soilders got casualties , they would be crashed and ran away .
The only battle Filipino attanded was in early 1951, when American army were busy on running to south .
      1. The first battle , PVA 58th division met American 65th division in April , the whole 65th division has been defeated to crash and ran away . Philipine soilders might lost 20 lives .A Philipine captain of a company has been killed.
2.April 24th , 40 philippine soilders surrandered to PVA, rest soilders ran away .
3.July 1951, Philipine army initially attacked PVA together with US army . 49 killed , 14 surrandered , rest of them ran away.
That's all the battles Philipine army have attend in front line , that's might be 5% battle in the first bloody warfare.
