It doesn't matter how many times the Chinese regime repeats the *lies,*

We don't like war. What's happening is a trade war between US and China. We don't like to be a battleground like Ukraine . China is our neighbor . We are in one region. Our region's economy would be ruined and not of the western countries.

You are right for not wanting any war and to respect soverigbty of each country. Never fall for US so call diplomacy which they relied to be no. One and is losing the position to China for obvious reason. I am not siding any country but the reality is making way for others when US is now in collapse and it's time to accept what's coming then drag others into the bottomless pit to survive.... @ryanspinoza6586 Před měsícem

Tanks will be useless, what Philippines need is to start building their own missile systems, missiles are a much more effective deterrence. The reason why Ukraine can't hit Russia directly is because US and EU are not allowing the weapons they gave for free to be used to attack Russia. But PH weapons have full ownership so they don't have any restriction, they're aggressive with their territorial expansion in SCS because they think small countries can't touch them, but that will change if they start building missiles now.

Singapore, the smartest country, as well as the most successful one in ASEAN, has been playing smart geopolitical balancing games between super powers for decades, for the maximum benefit of the country, without being squeezed and sacrificed as cannon fodder by the US or China.
Filipino people always look at the success of Singapore with envy, and wonder why they can't replicate the best practices in their homeland and why their country is still deeply trapped in US colony mentality without a clear way out.
Truth hurts. A smart leader plays smart geopolitical games and invites American and Chinese companies to build factories in order to generate jobs and increase revenue, while a clueless leader easily gets emotional like a kid, often is played by geopolitical players as chess pieces, invites foreign military to build bases in order to generate tensions and increase the risk of conflicts, and sacrifices the country's development and trade.
Japan and S. Korea can sit down for negotiations and cooperations, despite of their long time disputes over the sovereignty of the Liancourt Rocks in the sea between them. That is political wisdom and diplomatic maturity on full display.
Other countries such as China and the Philippines can definitely learn from S. Korea and Japan to manage their difference on South China Sea, Taiwan, MILF or whatever, and develop their relationship.
Even the leaders of Vietnam and Malaysia are now much smarter, more resilient and pragmatic than P-Noy and BBM. Now the Philippines is the only ASEAN member that works as proxy for Uncle Sam in Southeast Asia, and puts itself into current awkward position of either losing face or losing credibility.
Soon, even Laos and Cambodia will become richer than the Philippines. The Philippines will only compare better than Myanmar.

And Filipino nationalism was born out of Spanish oppression. It was the reason why despite Filipinos being separated by waters decided to unite to revolt and form an independent republic of their own. US is also a colonizer but the only reason why Philippines and the US became ally is due to World War 2 that continued throughout the Cold war era.
