Yeah, I thought that there’d be something like a REEF-LUX 150/250/350 etc, or a splatana (insert battle-themed word here).
Because we needed 5 more shooters
what if angle shooter got a small damage bonus for each time it ricocheted off a wall? that could be really fun
it would reward you for actually using its unique ricochet mechanic, and weapons like jet squelcher that are just out of range of a useful combo threshold would have a clear use for it
its pretty easy to hit 1 bounce off the floor for a slight boost and hitting 3+ bounce combos would make for some CRAZY clips

Maybe buff base dmg from 35 to 40 and give it +10 dmg per bounce with a max dmg bonus of 80, also I'd make it paint the floor if you throw it on Solid ground

As an eliter main wave breaker works great for eliters so I think it’d also work well for the tristringer!
My dream stringer kit would be fizzy inkstrike
I think the tri stringer is more of an offensive in the action weapon so inkzooka and burst bombs would be insane for it
I disagree on wall. Fizzy is made for fuckery with laying down a row of darts. Wavebreaker is just perfect though. I LOVE the thing on heavy and it would go really well with tri's ability to hinder movement.
I think it would be interesting to do basically the opposite of this video and try to figure out what kits would be the worst for each weapon. Obviously you could just slap angle shooter reef and stamp on everything and call it a day, but it would be more interesting to try and figure out what just doesn't synergize well assuming the game has perfect balance.
A good example of that thinking would be a Hydra or E-Liter with Zipcaster since they’d get basically no utility out of it

zipcaster eliter sounds really funny though, zipping to random background objects out of reach and getting 1 or 2 shots off
Those are good synergystic kits but they aren’t perfect, stuff like Kraken on Jet Squelcher isn’t what the weapon wants, I’d give it Zipcaster so it would be able to play off its various angles and be really interesting.
As for a worst kit I’d probably give it either Ink Mine since it’s not really that susceptible to flanks like an Eliter or Splatling would so it wouldn’t sinergize that well or at all imho, and as special Kraken or Reefslider, assuming perfect Special Balance, then perhaps Kraken since it would require the weapon to play more aggressively to get any value out of it and then it would have to retreat to not be in an unfavorable position when the duration runs out, further decreasing the value of the Special, and if we assume you’re the only backliner then that would mean the team now lacks an anchor because you’re in kraken form, and for longer than a Reefslider would, it would also be worse defensively than Reefslider (again assuming the Specials are pretty balanced, because again you’re not really that susceptible to flanks and if u used it as panic button the enemy will just ignore you and stop the flanks, he’s already gotten value by displacing you, a Reefslider would be better because it lasts shorter and it would threaten the flanker more than Kraken imho.
So yeah that’s it for worst kit, Ink Mine and Kraken on Jet Squelcher, pretty useless.
Since I’m a Flingza main I’ll also do another for this one, so Ink Mine doesn’t synergize that much already, sure it helps with the hitmarkers but it requires your opponent to approach and since the Flingza is already pretty good at preventing flanks Ink Mine is pretty redundant, and it’s not an offensive Sub that lets it combo like a Burst Bomb (60 damage which combos really well with the 40 damage at max range of the vertical spray) or Torpedo would, now since Flingza likes to flank once it gets Special like Missiles because they’re forced to retreat and if they approach instead that’s exactly what you want since they’re more likely to get in range of your oneshot, I’d give it a defensive special instead, I was thinking Ink Storm but it combos decently so nvm, all the Specials are pretty much decent on Flingza so I’d say Killer Wail is probably the least useful one, sure it still lets you combo and see enemies but that’s it for synergy, if it was more balanced it would probably get a slight damage buff or something so imho it would be the least useful, so in the end Flingza with Ink Mine and Wail 5.1 is what I’d say is the least useful kit.

That Wiper kit is legit the second thing I ever thought of it having with the first being Fizzy-Zooka. The absolute samurai movie energy of a blade weapon traveling under a misty rain by itself validates the kit before the actual gameplay considerations lol.
I love the reeflux kit I am dying for an aggro kit the curling missles combo is way to supportive to consistently enjoy
same praying we get it this summer nintendo really should of prioritized giving the sparse class new kits first to give their players more options

Same! Reef-lux is NOT a picky weapon, it only needs a bomb with any kind of special could work (maybe even reef, but I take ANY aggro special)
All you really need to run for saving is 1 sub of recovery up and some res, it's NOT picky
After the new update added in some weapons to show off the potential of beakon and cooler, it made me realize just how broken the combination actually is. It essentially means your team can get wiped and have it not matter at all. It's sad that dapples is what got it, so I'd love a more midline weapon like squelchers to get it, especially since their ink efficiency means they get less use out of subs than other weapons
The dapple dualies is actually the most mobile weapon because of this, I main this weapon and the kit works perfectly for dapples, a very aggressive slayer playstyle that doesn't lose much by dying and can return to the battle fast, its not broken but balanced by the weapon's range.

@@m4rcyonstation93 Actually rainmaker and tower control are my favorite modes to use dapples, they work the best in modes with moving objectives, when it comes to not getting hit just get good, they require a lot of skill to use properly but when mastered they are very fun to play

Also with undercover, I also think that torpedo chump might be pretty cool? Totp worked well with it in 2, and chump allows it to get in with cover to add on to its weaker shield cover
Personally the kit I want to see on Tetra Dualies is Point Sensor + Super Chumps. Tetra doesn't really need a lethal sup, so I think the information gathering of sensor would let it better take fights, and support it's team. Likewise chumps would be an insane tool to fight with, as well as letting your team push up.
One thing I'd like to note; the Beacons-Tacticooler kit mentioned for the Dualie Squelcher already exists on Vanilla Dapple. Not sure if we're caring too much about repeating kits within a weapon class, though (heck, Nintendo didn't with Dapple Nouveau)
It's a bit more excusable here because squelchers use it alot more supportive and passively than dapples which use it for itself mostly
I LOVED camo tent in splat2, so assuming nintendo actually fixes brellas and tweaks stamp, it would become one of my most used weapons again. Stamp and tent just work so well together!!
An E-Liter with Burst Bombs and Big Bubbler would just be evil
I've been waiting for a splatana wiper with storm for so long. With how easily it gets special and how uncoditional storm itself is, it would be great to have a ton of area of control without being broken
I actually think a great kit for Explosher is Angle Shooter Ink Vac.
It's already proven to work well off of location, and it can also use Angle Shooter to combo off a 90 damage slosh. As for ink vac, explosher has always had the issue of being pretty much just a splat zones niche, so ink vac is to give it a use in the non-zones mode since it can protect the rainmaker carrier, tower, or power clam carrier.
I think that Tri-stringers perfect special is Wave-Breaker but I think that fizzy bomb would be better for it.
Fizzy gives it a trail to follow like curling bomb but also will more easily add on some damage so that bows shots will easily take people out.
Just imagine a Bow shooting at you with a fizzy bomb and wave breaker giving backup and additional damage.
Yeah, I really hope that tri-stringer gets either torpedo or fizzy, and wave breaker or rain. You could argue burst bomb is a more consistent damage combo, but I think bow wants a sub that gives it other utility first, with the kill combo being an extra of both subs.
I'd also like a point sensor kit, because like explo, bow is one of few weapons that would benefit hugely from having point sensor location info. Hell it's one of the only weapons that regularly runs thermal ink, because having that information is huge.

I would personally prefer the burst bomb or the torpedo for the Reef-lux since most of the time, the charged shot would hit with only two projectiles, so the burst bomb could quickly finish someone and the torpedo on the other hand if you prefer, would distract the enemy to hit more shots and take an advantage, as well as dealing additional damages to kill easier
I think we will unfortunately be getting more weapons with missiles in the future, so my question to you is what weapons would work the best with it without breaking the game. What can we realistically expect to see with missiles in the future?
Those are some good choices for your kits, and I'd like to see more new weapons first before we get new kits. More new Non-Shooters is what I'd like to see tbh.
If Tenta Missiles got more nerfs, we'd probably be seeing it in more kits too.
I think that clear dapples had a really good kit in splat 2. Torp just felt really good with it as a poking tool and, yes, splashdown sucks but it did work with it
as a splat 2 clear dapple main, I completely agree with this statement
Honestly the Nouveau kit for the Dapples is not bad at all. The main thing it has against it is that the Tetra Dualies have functionally the same kit and are more competitively viable so nobody ever talks about the Dapples Nouveau. It's unfortunate.
Heck, I'd argue that the vanilla Dapples have a killer kit given the right situation. Tacticooler to go aggressive and respawn instantly, and Squid Beakons to super jump back into the fight, allowing you and your team to get literally fully wiped out and get back in like nothing happened. Too bad Dapples just aren't the weapon people want to use.

I think tetra with zip would be great but the problem would be ink efficiency would it not? If rolls take ink then zip might be a problem to have on it. As a tetra player it does look really exciting so nice kit Chara

Tetra is pretty mediocre in terms of ink efficiency, but with the ISM buffs zipcaster gives you, 4 rolls cost like 6-8% of your ink tank and firing is like

That dualie squelcher kit made me realize how much there should be a Beacon/Tacticooler kit in the game.

I think kraken autobomb would awesome for splatana stamper since as you said for autobomb it would give a good poking tool. As well with kraken it will give it more of a agresiva play style that I think will be fun for stamper

I would personally love a suction bomb on hydra. Because of its zoning potential the SB could help give the hydra some space to charge in emergencies. It’s high ink cost would also lead to interesting decision making for the ink hungry hydra if losing most of your ink tank is actually feasible from a long term standpoint. That along with big bubbler would give the hydra ways into contesting chargers with a risky option for dealing with assassination attempts that would leave its combat potential cribbled for a few seconds
Beakon and Chump for Ballpoint is actually an interesting idea. It's similar to Ink Storm in the way that it allows aggro play with your team. I'm pretty much all for it
3:37 I feel like inkbrush will probably get big bubbler and sprinkler tbh, like a reference to its splatoon 2 kit, although as someone who loves playing brush, super chump could be really cool.

Squiffer Main here, and I love the mobility the kit would gain with Zipcaster. Bubbler wasn't really my style and yea sure point sensor is okay for ninja squid but I just wanted a new special

On the brella kits, I will say for tenta brella's special I'd argue trizooka would be really fun for it, I agree with ultra stamp, and I definitely like the undercover kit, though if tacticooler buffs give you assists (don't know if they do or not), I'd prefer tacticooler on the undercover brella to ink storm
big swig ultra stamp would be SO much fun. ultra stamp isnt super strong right now but its still my favorite special just for how goofy it is and being able to charge them effortlessly with the big swigs massive paint would be hilarious. just think of all the hammer throw kills

I just need tri-stringer to get splash wall, or torpedo for the sub and inkstrike or wave breaker for the special any combination of those would be good but I mostly just want splash wall because it would let the tri-stringer play in a lot more different positions and spam half charged shots while being protected by a wall.
My dream kit for Tri-Stringer without a doubt is Burst Bomb Kraken, but tbh I think Burst Bomb/Super Chump could end up being a thing, and would be pretty strong. Burst bomb is obvious, no need to explain there but Chump could actually allow the weapon to HIDE ITS SHOTS behind the chumps, and with the explosion range, that could net some sneaky kills while also doing everything else that the special already does.
That Rapid blaster pro kit and jet Squelcher S1 kit look amazing

I was playing around with ideas for explosher while playing one time and reached literally the same conclusion. Really hoping they go with wave breaker when it eventually gets a kit, it feels like a super obvious choice.

Personally I liked point sensor on .52 and meshing that with a booyah bomb seems like it would be the best of both worlds. I can see the aggro kit you had for it though, that would be fun to play with too.

As someone who’s mained the dapples since Splatoon 2, would honestly like Angle Shooter to locate targets and get range when I’m out of it, and Killer Wail 5.1, as a form of cover, or to pressure long range foes to be able to safely get where I need to be atm

While I do think Ninja Squid would be great on a dualie of some sort, I'd argue that the squelchers would be a better fit then tetras as they have less end lag and could use the actual special more often. In place of zip on the tetras, I'd put Super chump on it for the added survivability while poking/distraction.
I love to play mini splatting, so your new mini kit sounds awesome hope it becomes real!
As a Carbon main, I've usually liked the idea of Torpedo + Inkstorm to help with increased paint output especially in solo queue and combo potentials
My tetra dualies kit idea is splatbomb/kraken. It just makes sense and sounds very fun!
I'm still really gunning for an Inkbrush or Wiper with Crab Tank or Kraken, as I like playing light weapons with good mobility but I want to have one of the high octane specials to pair with that... not holding out hope, but I think I'd be okay with the Super Chump Brush, just preferably with a different bomb I think
I think that a good splatana stamper kit would be splash wall and kraken. The splash wall could be used to to protect yourself while you send slashes and could even be used as a support wall while kraken can let you in + it combos with the charge slash or 2 normal slashes
That Octobrush kit is PERFECT but also damn I was really expecting Beakon Kraken E-Liter
All we need is curling reefslider hydra. That’d be an amazing kit that would have perfect synergy. There’s definitely no sarcasm in this

when i play jet squelcher, i already tend to play it as an agressive backline hybrid, so that kit looks amazing!
also, i think that suction bomb and wavve breaker on tri stinger could make it a god of area denial
Ink mine big bubbler hydra is my dream kit for the reasons you listed. It helps you deal with chargers and Hydra is one of the few weapons in the game that actually benefits from mines. This would be especially strong on tower control!
ok this might seem insane but, i think that line marker is a perfect fit for tri-stringer. This weapon specializes in long range chip damage and there are times where you hit 2 of the arrows but your target is barely able to get away, having a line marker can help you secure those kills and the location effect can also help you to hit you shots. For the special i think inkstorm would work really well, being a throw and forget type of thing that combos with additional chip damage
I think the stamper kit would also be great because auto bomb at a distance does 30 damage, and stamper combos perfectly with that.
my mains r squiffer , naut , dynamo , and explo so i say YESSIR to these kits for sure
I really want that blob kit. The wall would let you get close enough to have an impact while staying safe and chump could help you and your team push up by making a field of mini walls

As a Tri-Stringer main and an Angle Shooter apologist my personal kit for Tri-Stringer would be Angle Shooter with Ink Storm, really double down on the chip damage side

so the Dualie Squelchers kit is basically "let's take Dapples and give it range"
A kit I would absolutely love for Big Swig is Torpedo and Zipcaster. A torpedo would allow it to get in and kill enemies with vertical flicks while also working as a combo with it’s horizontal flicks. Zipcaster would work incredibly well because Big Swig has an insane amount of control when it has the higher ground. It’s veritcal flicks can still allow it to kill pretty quickly upclose, but it still is easily punishable if you’re not too close to it due to it’s horizontal flicks not doing as much damage.
Splattershot Jr. w/ burst bomb and Tacticooler. Burst bomb on Jr. will still be able to be aggressive and fend off enemies, and tacticooler is still a supportive special, and can be used for trades, for distracting, or being aggressive with the ability to come back in almost an instant.

Honestly, I would like to see fizzy and chump on Tetra’s would make for a fun mix up that could be interesting to play with.
So as someone who uses heavy a lot, one strategy I use to counter chargers is to wait behind cover while fully revved up for them to fire and then I attack them. It will either pin them down or splat them. Also if heavy needs anything for its third kit I would like to see wall as it’s sub.

Bloblobber with wall and super chump was my first thought when I saw the new special, as it could also be used as a cover for aggro Blob plays
For the Explo, beacon is nice as a utility but as a back/mid line I prefer the current point sensor that help you as well as your team
As an Octobrush main, that Autobomb/Kraken kit is YES. ABSOLUTELY YES. Only thing that might make it better would be Torpedo instead of Autobomb, but that kit would go so hard, especially in Clams.
A kit I would like (I don’t care if you don’t like them or if they don’t work)

*Special:* Super Chump

*Explanation*
Tetra Dualies are a main weapon that get in a lot, so giving it Beakon can help give Beakon good placements around the map. If you super jump to the super chumps you launched, your dodge rolls an prevent you from getting hit when you land, and can help you fight when you land (Also beakon and super chump sound like a good combo)
Beakon Cooler for Dualie Squelchers is exactly what I want and I'm glad it was here too lol

I pretty much agree with most of the kits ProChara suggested. As someone who plays a lot of Dynamo Roller I REALLY want it’s Booyah Bomb back. I also loved Enperry Dualies from splatoon 2 and would love that kit back as well.
That Splatana Fizzy and Inkstorm kit is basically just, "The storm that is approaching."
I want Torpedo + Zooka on Octobrush. It'd be such a fun kit.
I can dig the stringer kit, though I think I'd want ink mine more for the defensive aspect which it feels like it lacks in.
Not having seen the vid yet, my tri-stringer kit would be fizzy to make up for paint and zip caster for better vantage points or tristrike for displacement potential so you have them where you need them to get good directs

MARIE: Tidal Splat Charger/Scope, with Angle Shooter and Wave Breaker
PEARL: Pearlescent Splat Dualies, with Sprinkler and Killer Wail 5.1
