It's great to see what's going on in Chara's mind when he's playing, it sorta provides an explanation and makes it way easier to follow.
Chara ‘not being good with chargers’ will be better than I ever will be
you just gotta commit. I was that way too, I couldn't get one kill in splatoon 2. entire games with nothing, not one kill. now I consistently get highest, get collats, jump shots, flicks, sweeps, 180s, everything. it's now my favorite weapon and I already have zedfin badge. I think I do prefer e liter, I think splat charger is more aggressive which can be good.
I know right? I don't have the observation skills to play charger. I can't see players once they're half covered with ink. . .Unless its my teammates. . .I seem to shoot them a lot.

Dude’s got a lot of trust to give.
Ikr my teammates rarely throw clams to me even if I spam "this way" to them.
I've occasionally seen that level of team synergy in solo queue.
...But only in Salmon Run freelance. Watching three squids back up in synch when they realized the first boss spawn was a slammin lid and therefore should be lured was _majestic_.
@thing 'high Glico'technically, since splatoon doesn't use elo it uses a glico system.
I thought at first that Super Chump wasn’t that useful since it only does Burst Bomb damage but after a while, could definitely see great uses for it as a distraction or meat shielding tool that can probably snag you a few wins with it alone!
They have thrown me for a loop a few times, so they are definitely viable.

People assumed it would be a reworked missiles but it feels more like a wave breaker, just adding both visual noise and chaos to an area that you're going to push into

@@GXShade That is probably the best use for it. Even if you /know/ they can't possibly be jumping in. . .you're still going to pause for half a sec and then probably take another couple seconds to clear them if you can.

I'm so excited for whatever new mains we might possibly get next season, and thankfully unless they decide on giving third kits already we will at least get some more interesting weapons as most of the shooters, the basic rollers, basic sloshers, all have second kits already.

How is it that you can fit every Splatana, Stringer, Brella and Brush on ONE page with extra space, but shooters have 3 pages of weapons
@@ultrayeets honestly I wish we could get a good new brush but I have no ideas. A dynamo brush would just be a carbon roller without vertical flick, and it's kinda hard to make a new niche with the controls it already has. Snipewriter was already unexpected though, so who knows.

I love hearing Chara have FUN playing the game whilst also giving advice. It just makes me happy to hear him all perky!
I've mained the L-3 for most of Splatoon 2, and the majority of Splatoon 3, and agree with pretty much everything you said. It is a weapon you NEED to be comfortable with in order to get results, and being able to switch between a passive and aggressive playstyle is the key to success with the weapon, and being aggressive with it is not easy. The weapon takes practice and dedication, whether it's worth the effort or not is up to you, but for me, I just adore the L-3, and will play it until the end of time.
As someone who mained the N-Zap '89 in Splatoon 2 (before Missile Spam took over) and loved playing more aggressively with it, I'm very happy with this kit and how it's almost the same but with a much more healthy special than Tenta Missiles. Very nice, definitely seems like a lot of fun.
As a Roller Main, I already have 4* Krak-on, and this is coming from someone who usually doesn't like Beakons on Roller
That said! I've been having a TON of fun with Rapid Deco as well. Definitely the 2 highlights of the season for me :)
This was honestly a great video, going over every weapon, whilst showing gameplay, AND being very clear on everything you do, and why you do it during said gameplay.
Yeah, it brings to life many informative nuances on gameplay with the main, sub, special and the synergies therein. Also I loved the tactical insight on the kit’s role in the team, plus some general nuggets on collecting clams vs covering the basket; being happy to draw fire away from the rainmaker for a few seconds etc.
I’ve watched it twice and feel like I’ll come back again.
Reminds me of the old tf2 2012 new weapons videos where people played new weapons and talked about it at the same time while unscripted it’s great
I think super chump has a lot of potential for a special, if someone goes into the base as someone activates chump, then someone super jumps to them, it could be a great way to get valueable position/ wipeout the team/ get clams in basket
I really like the style of this video, it’s just you playing the game and commenting on your actions, I learned a lot. Also really like that you focused on how to play the weapons and only that. I don’t need people to tell me that curling bomb doesn’t work with clash for the 967th time, but if I ever wanted to play clash neo, I could find actual good tips on how to work with curling bomb with clash in this video, even if it’s not the best. This was all throughout the video pretty much and it was a great touch!
As someone who has been playing v rapid ever since this game came out, I‘m so happy for the deco. As for inkjet, I never really used it but I‘ve been liking it for rapid. Also it’s so good against Kraken, been loving that interaction for sure
I like this style of video where you explain what you're doing as you're doing it! Very helpful to see what players' thought processes are as they play.

I think it would be cool to see you do two separate tier lists, one for raw power level, and another for being well-designed (i.e., they add something new and fun, their kit generally works and they're not just treading old ground). Basically like what you did for specials.

just like Bob was painting professionally and was talking in a very calm manner, Chara is playing Splatoon professionally while calmly explaining the play style of each weapon.

i think this season’s kits (except for splash and sploosh neo) all have a purpose that they’re going for, and im really liking the seemingly stronger kit design from early s2! very excited for s3’s future :)

I love this style of video, getting to see a great player in action while they actively explain what's going on and commentate their gameplay. It reminds me a lot of Technoblade's old Skywars content, in the best possible way.

great vid, liked this kinda more casual help and showcase style. was wondering if you're planning tips and strategies for game modes and maybe talking through movement, one thing i see is how different movement is in high end play and think talking over it in a gameplay setting might be good?

I love the clash blaster but just couldn't figure out how to get better with it so thank you for that. Also, did not realise just HOW GOOD the new N-Zap is. Gonna have to try that one out
Really appreciated the insights here! Knowing when to pop special is something I need to work on, so trying to use my subs to help me out before popping it is something worth practicing. Really found a lot of use with the Krak-On roller...feels like people of my ranking rarely notice beakons, so I was able to get pretty far into enemy territory and come from behind on Rainmaker. Glad this game is getting more variety, slowly but surely.
Tri nouveau is probably my favorite kit in the game. Paired with the main, it's super fun.
Also you're way too humble with the charger dude those were some nice shots

that's because every weapon really is fun, haha. every one has their merits really. even brella can do funky things other weps can't, but they do need buffs.
When you realize super chump is a better realized version of what they wanted bubble blower to do all along instead of being an insta nuke

I went back to the ZAP 85 because I had no idea about what to do with those balloons as a special to make proper use of it.

Tbh I can’t wait for the bows to get new kits (most likely next season). Such satisfying weapons to get good at. Also Reeflux is super fun on Manta Maria, and I feel like the map really compliments its abilities.

Wow, watching the rapid, N Zap, and Gal game play, the kit synergy on all three makes them look so satisfying to watch, even how the inkjet plays on rapid in spite of it being an undertuned special. It makes me really want to learn how to play them. I honestly tend to use weapons where I rely heavily on the main weapon and mechanical outplays, but since I want to get into competitive Splatoon, I know that is a bad habit. Also, I just love how it feels to play weapons where every part of their kit feel like they work together. Maybe I'll pick up a new weapon in this patch! I love dualies, but on many of the dualies it feels like you're playing for how good the main weapon is, in spite of the kit, rather than playing them for their kit synergy, and I'd really love to have a weapon under my belt with good kit synergy.

Holy shit, I did not know just how big the torp roll explosion is until this video. I knew rolling it was useful for the combos with directs but wow that is a crazy indirect range.
FINALLY! Someone recognizes the value of auto bomb on the 89. I use it for all of what you mentioned, but also to force enemy ledge players out of position. It's great to combo into a disruptive playstyle and then pick off foes. So glad the Super Chump plays off that mechanic.
I like tri-slosher as a main weapon, but I decided not to use it because I really didn't like the kit. I thought getting in with it would be hard even with cooler as you can't paint your feet to move forward as well as a shooter and your ninja squid gets undone by cooler, but I didn't consider the fizzy trail. Seems really good. Should have called it the soda tri slosher tho, all it has is soda.

I've been loving using the Neo Sploosh-o-matic. I run a build with Comeback, QR, and a main of Sub Power Up, which lets you effectively never stay dead. Get splatted? Congrats you're immediately alive again and you can instantly jump back to wherever you put a Beakon. Do VDapples do this niche better? Maybe. But is it a ton of fun regardless to be an ever-present threat? You betcha. Plus getting your team to the frontlines near-instantly is a huge help too.
I still wish Sploosh had a kit that could poke, but at least it isn't it's S2 kit with Missiles. It's the little victories.
This video made me learn to put special charge up on my krak on splat roller to be helpful

Love the krak on roller way more in 3. Gonna try some special charge like you suggested. In 2 the baller didn't feel super good for getting in so you felt walled as a roller. I still think the default roller is probably better since it can get in more consistently, but it's still a fun option to have.
I love the krak-on splato roller, it is litterally my dream kit. any kit any weapon, the new roller is my pick im enjoying iy so much
The splash tech that I have thought of that could work is the suction bomb can protect you while you use your tri strike so the short range weapons have to work around it the suction bomb while you throw the tri strike.

Another for 96 is that the wall actually makes you more aggressive. You can get value with going in pop a wall and try to aggressively take space from the enemy. And if it goes wrong wall and kraken are life savers and can give you survivability if done right.

Custom Jet squelcher and trislosher are my personal favorite kits for theses weapons.
I do wish jet had a different sub and tri had a different special but the other part of the kit are great.

For Inkjet, maybe an idea is to make ZL control the height at which the inkjet flies at, with holding ZL making the Inkjet sink while keeping you in the special. I have no idea how this would work in terms of balance but it might help with vulnerability being an issue.

Compared to the Chill Season kits, a good majority of the new kits have solid niches or are just straight up really good, which is a big set up. And with almost every shooter out of the way for now, the next round will be guaranteed to get to a bunch of weapons that could change things up with good kits. And with us yet to see more weapons with crab and missiles, some big game changers could be incoming if this is anything to go by.

I have to admit I don’t normally like toxic mist but I think it works really good on jet squelcher with inkstorm I was just hoping that jet squelcher would get any bomb

you said z+f charger would be devastating to inkjet but in reality its been the 96 deco, charger has to throw wall and then manage to land a full charge while gal just has to throw wall and point in its general direction while holding the trigger with the larger hitbox.
Its probably this matchup that'll force the devs to finally buff inkjet
I'm trying to 5 star all Splooshes (Already 5 starred the Vanilla and I currently have 4 on the Neo Sploosh) and I always appreciate advice when it comes to playing the weapon. Playing Neo aggressively can be hell sometimes, but hey, I gave this challenge to myself. Yes I'm crazy
I’m really a big fan of this clash kit. Curling can help it get in, albeit something like burst bomb would’ve been much better. And chumps also do amazing combo damage if they happen to explode in front of an enemy with clash’s low damage. Definitely the superior kit, too bad it’s only B tier max.
disagree on it being superior. I think Trizooka is still the better special for it, giving it an anti-crab tool and the ability to exert pressure beyond the point blank range it typically has, plus splat bomb is the second best bomb in the game. Using curling bomb to get in is risky and telegraphed, even as we saw in the video he only really swims with it if there's nobody around because trying to use that strategy to engage stops working altogether the moment you leave B-
The quality of kits varies a lot this update. You have some like the new Tri-Slosher Nouveau, which is borderline a perfect kit for the weapon. You've got some like the Rapid Blaster Deco and L3D, which give the weapons amazing subs, but specials that are cool and fun to use but currently not very good. And then you've got Neo Splash, that has very little reason to exist, being basically a weird third Splattershot that does little unique versus those or its vanilla kit.
They had the perfect Shooter to finally give us a shooter with Zipcaster, and they didn't do it.

This is something almost no one talks about but what are your thoughts or theories for what a balance change to the new two specials would be? Especially super chump. Everyone talks about nerfing or tweaking something on kraken, cuz honestly it deserves it (my two cents is more knockback, getting a kraken off of tower is a b****), but super chump changes interests me the most. More chumps spawning on special power up? A flat health increase for the chumps? More paint? Anything is possible.
Buff the indirect hit of stamp from 40 to 60, make run speed on gear effect it, plus a 10 percent speed buff
I don't understand why people treat Chump as a displacement special - it doesn't say "get out of this spot now", it says "you will have a much harder time contesting this general area for the next several seconds"
