wow I heard this song over a year ago & didn't know who it was..I woke up 10 minutes ago from a dream with these lyrics in my head & have been searching google until I found it now..pretty trippy
Saw that this video has been up for 17 years- hit me like a freight train how time just keeps pressing on... And yet this song will always be relevant. ❤️
the first time i heard this song, i was on an amtrak train from chicago to d.c. i remember looking through the windows and seeing the cities pass by and being thrown from side to side as i walked down the isles to get to my car... it was perfectly fitting, a surreal yet calming song in a surreal yet calming setting.
It took me 19 years to find this and fall in love forever...sad to hear the singer has left the earthplane already. Hope you embrace higher spheres with your talent now...
Finger In quite possibly the most pointless comment ever to be typed! how do you value one persons life over another's? Bowie was/is a global megastar and had been performing longer than Trish and even been on the planet!.
Just heard this song the first time tonight (it was on a TV show) and I was holding my guitar. I figured out the chords and came here to witness the beauty. Haven't heard such an amazing piece of art with a beautiful flow and melody delivered by this beautifully angelic voice ever. This song resonates with me in a very unique way. One can tell that a serious genius engineered this.
i remember when this album came out i thought "huh this is different for Warp..." and i'll admit this album took awhile to grow on me and this song in particular to me is now one of my all time favourite songs. i've loved seeing them live. R.I.P. Trish.
This is their best song, but man is it also so incredibly underrated and amazing. Broadcast will always be the coolest band I've had the pleasure to listen to.
Trippy! I grew up in the '60's and Trish sounds so much like Petula Clark in this song but more soulful, intelligent and introspective. I feel like I'm back in the '60's.
Today out of the blue I started thinking of this song, singing it to my toddler daughter and even played it on my Alexa device....i look up Trish Keenan as I was so saddened the day she passed...and I see today Jan 14 is the anniversary of her death...i will be thinking of her and sending up prayers for her all day today, my heart still hurts for her family and fans 💔
Nothing to do with the songsmiths who wrote this wonderful song but I've felt for myself this could be a song from the perspective of the grim reaper, or very differently hopefully, a song to the inner self
I met them on their Focus group tour for witch cults...Lovely people! The last thing I said to them was hurry back with a Broadcast tour..we love you in Boston! I am crushed to read this news.
Love broadcast, wish I would have found them sooner and trish 💜 what a beautiful soul so sadly missed, her voice and music will be forever in our hearts 💞 RIP trish
At once a voice was silenced, so beautiful the final note floats on and all the world seemed quiet, when that sound was finally gone. when we took for granted in these long nights our melancholic muse, and now so distant that fading song, what a thing to lose.
So hard to find the song I am searching for these days based on fragments of lyrics and too many suggestions to plow through to find it. But amazingly this is it! Beautifully done! And wow!
Found out about them last year cant stop listening to there music it’s so good rip Trish wish I could have seen them live I saw videos of them live and it looks great!
As there are no comments, I’ll leave one for the listener: this is great! I think it’s a shame Don and Walter didn’t succeed as hitmakers, I can hear The 5th Dimension performing this song. The marimba is unusual in a pop song, brings Zappa to mind (although he would scoff at the simplicity of this).
What a sad loss, such a wonderful talent and only just learnt of this band, she was on my music course back in the day,she was fab then and such a beautiful voice and my mate bought to my attention if i knew of her as she was studying music the same time as me. rip Trish!
Discovered these guys the other day and i really like them. It looks like a psychedelic band from the 60' that took a time machine to our time to make electronic music. It''s sad the singer died she seemed very talented.
rest in peace Trish..... A best friend told me the sad news yesterday - it's very sad..... it's as bad as it was when Mary Hansen from Stereolab died......:(:(:(:( thanks for the music.....
You won't find it by yourself, you're gonna need some help And you won't fail with me around, come on, let's go I will tell you if you change and who's been saying things It's hard to tell who is real in here, come on, let's go You know who to turn to, now everything's changed, come on, let's go Stop looking for answers in everyone's face, come on, let's go What's the point in wasting time On people that you'll never know, come on, let's go When you're looking for a friend but it's empty at the end When everybody's disappeared you won't be alone If you want I'll compensate, if you over estimate So there's nothing left to fear, you won't be alone You know who to turn to, now everything's changed, come on, let's go Stop looking for answers in everyone's face, come on, let's go What's the point in wasting time On people that you'll never know, come on, let's go You know who to turn to, now everything's changed, come on, let's go Stop looking for answers in everyone's face, come on, let's go What's the point in wasting time on people that you'll never know When you know who to turn to, now everything's changed
so sad to know we'll never hear new songs from this wonderfull voice. RIP Trish.
¡SHE DIED?!!?
@Rich Goldman It still hurts, and I only knew her music. RIP Trish.
'stop looking for answers in everyone's face come on let's go' . I love this line, it used to help me with my anxiety, weirdly
Same
Nothing weird about that, my friend! The brain is amazing
I know what you mean

are you still alive?
@@tomasbustamante9343 yeah I'm at work lol

this has happened to me too, not with this song tho, but i know the feeling. very "unheimliche"
"what's the point in wasting time on people that you'll never know", I live by those words. pretty deep and insightful for a great pop song.
Especially applicable in this age of social media.
Played this at my wedding.
Mr Worry that must have been nice :)
Beautiful
Beautiful
@haters are annoying Since the song seems to be about how you can rely on someone, it seems quite appropriate to me.
My favorite song. Congratulations :j
Saw that this video has been up for 17 years- hit me like a freight train how time just keeps pressing on... And yet this song will always be relevant. ❤️
2006 used to be like 8 years ago, not 17 :(
Time sucks
Every time I listen to Broadcast there is this sort of pain in acknowledging there will be no more of this beautiful moment
I really just FEEL this song, I can't explain. I keep on repeating it. Thank you Broadcast, RIP Trish!
So right even all those years ago
An absolute masterpiece, haunting and beautiful.
This song never fails to bring me nostalgia

fuck yeah
They always sounded like they were straight out of the 60s
Exept the electronical sounds. It makes it level up even more 😍
Indeed, reminds me of the "United States Of America"
@@Vision_3030 God yes! Aside from Silver Apples, only band I can draw that similarity with
@@flaskfilepaburk9799moog synths were around in the 60s and I suspect that’s what Broadcast used
Somehow her vacant detached demeanor makes the lyrics even more romantic.

Happy Birthday Trish Keenan (September 28)

Bowie was the more valuable person. Hmm.. not sure who I miss more...
This is my favorite Broadcast track. Trish Keenan had such a haunting voice.
One of the best bands of all time
heard her song for the first time this year, what a great talent, RIP
When this came out way back in 2000, I thought that this tune was ingenious, and still do to this day.

They played this in my local pub today.

It's kind of old fashioned and modern at the same time. I love it.
Its sad that I never heard this amazing band until she passed. Amazing talent.Beautiful voice.

It's a sad loss for music, and far too few people know it...
So sorry to hear the bad news today, she really was a fantastic talent.
I love the drums
I thought you were talking about the actual band “the drums” love them too
This song was London 2004 for me! RIP
Those lyrics hit deep
I don't ever want Trish to disappear.

I like how she is reading the news in a 60s TV show about the future. The video is extraordinary (not to decry the song itself, which is lovely).
Beautifully Retro sounding...Gorgeous!!. I cant get enough of Broadcast xx :)))
Super song.
Trish marvellous 🙏 ❤️
This music video fits the vibe of this song, it's beautifully haunting. I love it.
How have I never heard this before :(
broadcast is so underrated
through these music videos, she lives on.
She lives on.
I have just discovered this song and band. Love it! Sad I'm too late to experience live. She has a very unique voice. A little like Bjork..
that's really sad. she is missed I loved her voice. damn. wish she still was here.
wish that you re full of tenderness and wisdom, as always.
the heaven is really lucky to have you,Trish.
I can't pick a favorite Broadcast song but this one sure is one of the best ones.
a beautiful video for a beautiful song.

Stunningly beautiful song, awesome band. A sad loss almost one year ago now. RIP Trish.
Just one of the best pop songs ever made. RIP Trish. Sorry to see you go...
Good songwriting and arrangement. Well produced. Excellent stuff.
We have lost a truly wonderful talent today.
I identify similarities with Stereolab, this is good stuff (-:
I thought exactly the same thing! Similar even to the fact that both groups have lost a female member!

And you won't fail with me around, come on, let's go
I will tell you if you change and who's been saying things
It's hard to tell who is real in here, come on, let's go
You know who to turn to, now everything's changed, come on, let's go
Stop looking for answers in everyone's face, come on, let's go
What's the point in wasting time
On people that you'll never know, come on, let's go
When you're looking for a friend but it's empty at the end
When everybody's disappeared you won't be alone
If you want I'll compensate, if you over estimate
So there's nothing left to fear, you won't be alone
You know who to turn to, now everything's changed, come on, let's go
Stop looking for answers in everyone's face, come on, let's go
What's the point in wasting time
On people that you'll never know, come on, let's go
You know who to turn to, now everything's changed, come on, let's go
Stop looking for answers in everyone's face, come on, let's go
