  • Here we port and develop a PRB casting K20A head and discuss things about valve to throat ratio and even the port divider and many more
    here is a link to the k24 RBB head porting we did
    We also discuss certain areas we avoid when porting with the carbide and during clean up, about throat ratio related to valve size and many more
    like port divider preferences and theory and what works for us and all.
    please do check out our facebook page for many more

      on my old videos ive stated the lube i spray while i do the sanding roll passes is
      40-50% Ethyl alcohol mix with
      40-50% Dishwashing soap or liquid soap
      wd40 is decent but it smears around the carbon build ups and is lubed with oil so it gets messy...
      carb cleaner works too BUT it dries too fast like 1-2 pass its dry so it can get expensive and bad to inhale

    Hi, im one of your folowers and im a bit confused which k24 should i get. Im aware of k24a2 but its hard to find it here in philippines, however theres a lot of k24a around but i want to know which one of those are between 196-200hp do you have any idea on which k24 would i choose? I will highly appreciate if you could educate me about the serial no. Or any particular things i should look for

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey sorry late reply, uhm tbh… the differentiating numbers like k24a2 or something for the k24 I believe is more of a minor thing unlike the k20a vs k20z which the vtec itself is different
      It’s more like the b20 analogy if u notice locally everyone preaches phk this or that need Jdm etc when in reality even a p3f piston local b20 with healthier rings and valve seals will make MORE than any jdm “nambawan” b20 phk 😂 so hopefully you don’t get all too caught up in it
      Tbh not many even know the oem k24 cam is bigger than even the k20a typeR cam
      Whoops! I said it lol

    • @SRDmotorsports

      oh good question amigo... usually like this or after this we send it to Edmel (machineshop) for our three angle work or valvejob
      but in instances that is mild or basic como a sua head? nos a costuma fazer a lap o valvulas a cabeca :) so you can do the same

      Oh hey thanks for this…
      For the Bseries it’s 0.040” max I believe
      And on the Kseries it’s somewhere in the 0.015-0.020” region I think
      But I have seen Bseries resurfaced more than 0.050” 😀 and Kseries up to 0.040” I believe but Ofcourse the chain tensioner has to be checked and new to be safe
      Though I won’t go over 0.010” on the K

    Why did you not make the shape more sharp in the middle of chamber? :)

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  Před rokem +2

      Well by doing that, it also means u increase cross sectional area and depends on heads and applications we lose torque
      Some say get it sharp for more flow and top end? Well more top end = more cam that’s simpler and u still have good midrange
      So it depends on application and it’s easy to do it but not so easy to reverse it hehe so I leave this like this because this is my spare so until I know where it should be used on? Then il adjust by then hehe

    No gasket matching on this one I see. Curious why not? Thought you gasket matched on the K24 head on other video. K20 always said to have best flow from factory of course but figured it would have gasket matched porting.
