That dude just brought Zatoichi's sword back to him LMAO
The risk he took was calculated but man, he sucked at math.
@@BluesyBor And he s Asian *blown mind*.
@@mrpuss2519 Being Asian kinda a moot point when your up against another Asian.
He's a fool. He should had sneakily beheaded Zaitoichi with the sword instead of mocking him.
@@sweetcandysugaarmy8480 typical weekend cartoon villain mentality.
Takeshi Kitano, from comedian to Yakuza to Samurai. Man of many talents.
and most of his movies are violent…
1:37 this was pure comedy
I remember Hanabi, a great movie also composed by Joe Hisashi. Same man who composed any Studio Ghibli anime
Don’t forget his game, Takeshi’s Challenge
pretty sure he was in battle royals as well ?
That move he do to remove the blood off his sword always give me chills, despite how many time i see it.
Imagine being able to move that fast!? Sheesh!!!
I taught him well.
It's called Chiburi. In reality he probably would have thoroughly wiped the sword to prevent lingering blood which would cause rust
There are several moves like that in Japanese martial arts. The only thing that you can do to replicate is put water on the blade. It will remove some of the water, but not all of it but it’s still pretty cool though. The reason why that they would try to remove as much blood from the blade as possible is because blood will make your blade rust. I would imagine that samurai and other swordsman as soon as they got to a place they could clean their blade with probably clean it and dry it thoroughly.
I think it's stupid.
The last guy was so clumsy that he cut his friend's arm when drawing his sword, yet thinking he can take out another a swordmaster lol
Lol... I wonder that scene was for..
@@bennysusanto5524 "You wield a sword to make yourself strong, doesn't mean you can wield one better."
"Oooopsie.. My bad"
"Tis but a scratch my butt.. That's gonna need stitches"
I always believed that Zatoichi could hear that a child was coming to take his sword but that he let it be...
Makes sense, I did too. Kid was innocent.
@e causey oh yeah.
Yeah, considering all he can do /is/ hear. Would've been even better if Ichi tossed some of the dead guys' money at the kid, gawking at him from what he believed was a good hiding place.
He was in no real danger, I'm pretty sure he was aware of that. Plus, he knew he'd be getting his sword back...😉😉😉
The kids approach was not that quiet.
The Special Effects for this movie haven't aged well, but the movie itself has aged like a fine wine.
Can you shut up?
@@snakeplissken2313 why? he's only giving his opinion.
Even in Japan the fake blood cgi was criticized by everyone. The fight choreography is still some of the best.
@Leonardo Cesana I love old japanese movies, also that the special effects are so bad is also what's interesting about old japanese movies. But to insult someone because someone just pointed a mistake in the movie you like is just plain pathetic.
I think they were going for the unrealistic and obviously fake blood spurting effect on purpose
The way the lacky cuts his buddies arm drawing his sword is so funny 😆 well done
That’s why you’re always taught to drawl the sword straight out and not off to the side
@@jeffreyburney6161 I think drawing it off to the side is something novices or beginners do, as an act of brashness or trying to look intimidating to the opponent
@@Rei-ze3dj exactly. Or simply because they don’t know any better but in a combat situation, that would put you at a disadvantage drawing it off to the side. That’s why you’re always talk to drawl straight out, so therefore it put obstacle between you and another opponent. If I were in a sword fight with somebody and they drew their sword off to the side, that would literally be the last move they ever make. They will get cut down hard.
@@jeffreyburney6161 Yeah I definetly think that drawing it to the side is a symbolism for acting rash, jumping straight into things without thinking, which is something you are instructed not to do in Iaido
He later joind the marines and even helped the straw hats.

Ayooo💀💀
1:38 that sword draw haha
and the other samurai like: WTF Dude I'm on your side!
I wonder if that was a blooper and they decided to keep it xD
LordDyhalto Nah its a reality we never hear about. Its like those people wondering why they don't attack all at once. Friendly slicing and standing too close to each other.
and all the others are like "lets stay away from that guy" xD
He didnt even apologized lol
Even the one who isn't blind cut his own people, LOL :P
It reminds me to Stephen Chow's movie 😃
Eppiku fairu!
One of my very favorite movies ever. It friggin' rocks, the whole way through.

Chris Wright have you seen the old Sword blindman movie before this one ?
@@serbiseedafos4272 never have. huge Kitano and Ghibli and AKIRA fan; not so much other Japanese cinema
That's weird
LOL.. dude, did you just sliced my arm?! LOL
You can see on his face how much he hates killing. Amazing acting.
His enemies kept asking for it, honestly
Love how he breaks the guys ankle before the actual sword blow. Have to remember that one in case of a street fight.
The great Takeshi Kitano himself as Zatoichi!
取ったものをわざわざ目の前まで返しにくる優しさ
I can remember the day I first watched this masterpiece...my dad was like " hey bought a few movies pick one to watch " BOOM fell love with this movie and was happy to discover there was other movies to watch of the blind swordman. So good
Classic scene. This movie has everything.
Even a blind man cant find any peace......
well, he's not really blind
Never heard of this movie, clicked on this from a suggestion. This scene is so badass I'm definitely going to rent the movie.
Go for it, its great. Don’t forget to also watch the old movies too. All are fantastic.
Kitano is one of my favorite actors. Loved him in Outrage. Always plays a great part
Outrage was a great movie. I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention it before. I caught it on the humble one night while on Netflix. I was very impressed with it.
@@apexone5502 try the sequel. It picks up with Takeshi getting out of prison. The third one, Outrage Coda, is questionable to be honest. I didn’t love it like the first two. It’s on Amazon last I checked my friend
@@chrisdooley6468 yeah, for some reason I've slacked on the first sequel. I'll make sure to check it out. Thanks for the heads up on both the 2nd and 3rd flicks.

@@apexone5502 let me know if you ever watch them. I think you’ll at least like the second one. It flows seamlessly from the first in many ways
This dude is a complete badass.
I replayed the dance scene again and again, loved it.
Note to self: Never ever ever bother a blind swordsman having a drink!
To me, Shintaro Katsu will always be Zatoichi, but this guy who I believe is more famous as a director does a great interpretation of the blind swordsman.
This guy also directed the film. How h did it when he likely spent most of his time on set with his eyes closed, I have no idea
1:25 damn he flawlessly clean his sword with that move. Only master swordsman can do that.
Just had to laugh... fudge me. You've got his sword, don't go walking up and.....oh dear. Never gets old.
One of my all time fave films, yes the effects have aged but... it's brilliant. Takeshi Kitano is on form as always. One film to have in any film fans library
It's not good, and compared to the Katsu movies it's crap.
@@marcinb4647ah, I think it's good. The dude is a great, experienced actor. The CGI effects were bad bad but the actual scenes and filming was great.
But yes, Shintaro Katsu was a way better Zatoichi
One of my favorite classic s
I always watch this movie when it comes on tv,great fight scenes and humour and l particularly like the dance scene at the end.
Love that movie. Old time favourite
There’s only one Zatoichi. But Beat Kitano was perfect for this role
I love watching this sequence nonstop;)
Never mess with a blind sword man
I kept watching intant replay. That was so cool.
Beautiful!
1:21 lmao that scream
he is such an excellent master
Wish I could find more fights from the 1962 version. For the year it was made, EVERYTHING was spot on.
masterpiece
Litterally walks up to the man and shakes the hand the swords in 😂😂 like its right here old man take it if u can lol
Don't understimate, size or handicaps, Zatoichi was a moral message to the Bullies.
So beautiful, i'm studying it.
Zatoichi is another example of “Don’t judge a book by its cover”.
Great stuff.
Absolutely love this movie and in some spots it’s funny to

Starting to find the time to watch these videos.
THAT BLEACHED HAIR KILLS ME
I always loved the creative decision about the blood representation. Kitano is the man. Pozdro666
ONE OF MY FAVOURITE MOVIES TOO......PROBABLY TOP 10 MARTIALARTS ACTION MOVIES
Man Zatoichi is awesome :)
thank you zatoishi
I'll always precer shintaro katsu, (spelled wrong i'm sure) but this movie had a special charm to it. Always have a place for the guy with the spear!
Having grown up on the old B/W Zatoichi movies, this one with the dyed contemporary hair made me hesitant at first. But this scene, which I think happened very early in the movie, was like the old Zatoichi. And the dude cutting up his partner was a clever touch of humor.
Why is no one talkin about one of the minions accidentally cutting another arm while drawing his sword. I was crying when that happened 🤣🤣😂😂😂
You can see the exact moment at 0:41 when Ichi knows the kid stole his cane. I love how he always plays a fool, and everybody underestimates him.
Takeshi Kitano did a great job making this movie. One of his best movies, big hit at the cinema. Very enjoyeable. Wonder why he never made another one of this movie? He chose to make 3 Outrage movies instead. Two of them were fantastic but still feel he really brought out this Zatoichi character, the blind swordsman. He could have done like Tom Cruise, improving on his Mission Impossible series, everyone better than the next. No, he just put a full stop there.
Are you blind like Ichi? This movie was and remains crap. It's vastly inferior compared to the oldet Katsu movies. The only thing Kitano succeeded in here was bigging up his ego maybe. But then the movie was a boring flop compared to his other flicks
Great movie this one . Next level ... Beat # 1
Good movie, specially the close-up during the very last battle.
Xem đi xem lại vẫn thấy hay!
Good example of a time when practical effects were still best. Still a great flick tho! Absolutely loved the older stuff based on him.
I'm old schooler and love the original Ichi but I like this as well.
Woooo, that ankle break was nasty!
Takeshi is awesome
WONDERFULL (sorry for my terrible english) MOVIE
what a crazy scene
Thanks Quentin
Badass!
I love the classic one more by Shintaro Katsu.
I do too but dang if Takeshi didn't do well. Just like Bond films there were good and not so good to fill those shoes.
