Thats not true. Most of the time it is carbon steel that is tempered down. Since he heat treated it, it should be up to the correct hardness. I have done a quench test with sample pieces from a few different saw blades and they all have been high carbon. But its always good to test the steel every time just in case, especially if its a scrap saw blade.

Why the clipped point? You do a lot of tip work in bushcraft.. you need a more robust tip! The knife itself is gorgeous though....

Classic mistake. The saw blade with welded teeth has only the teeth hard, the main body is common junky steel so all this work will come to naught.
