I was 287 lbs when I started my preop diet 5 days ago. I’m now 273 lbs. it’s rough but I’m COMMITTED on not breaking it!
Starting my pre-op diet today, I go for bypass surgery on February 6th, 2023! Wish me luck!!💜💪
Me too. Mine is feb 3!!!
@@wendysmith8298 I really hope your pre-op diet goes well, and that your recovery goes smoothly!💜 I'm nervous- but only because I have a fatty liver genetically so I'm praying that it will shrink down enough and not cause any issues. Fighting!💪💜
@@ErinYell good luck to you as well! We got this!!!!!!
How did it go? ☺️
@@nicolea1149 oh boy oh BOY... I'm still recovering from surgery because I had complications and they had to open me up! I'm currently have a wound vac to help with the drainage as my incision began reopening once the staples were our. It's 10cm deep!
BUT. I have lost 54 pounds since the day of surgery. So, a success even with the complications!
My pre-op diet was only for 3 days, I got worried cause everyone's LRDiet was 2 weeks. I'm only 15weeks post, I'm actually enjoying this journey 🥳🥳
I've had a couple friends that had 4 day or a week only of pre-op so no worries friend!!
Halfway through my 2 week pre op diet. 💪🏼 almost there.
How did it go?
Started my preop yesterday go for my gastric sleeve July 9th 2024
We have the same surgery date .. good luck on your journey
@natoyanasihaclanton341 That's awesome same to you keep ur head up and God bless!!
Great! No regrets here (08/04/2023). I pray your surgery is successful as well as your journey.
@belindagibbs2106 Thank you God bless!!
I love this Dr man I watch ll your videos , thank for sharing all this information with us
I did so well on my liquid diet (approx 2.5 weeks), my liver shrunk so well I did not need the upper incision to move my liver out of the way. I have 4 incisions all on my lower stomach.
Wow! What's your secret??? I'm struggling without the carbs. My body physically hurts and brain fog is thick!
@@mariemyers6747 lots of protein shakes! Lots!! I ate runny mashed potatoes, runny cocoa wheats and soup
@@scootersound runny mashed potatoes??? Those are high in carbs though? 🤔
My problem is that I have an array of food intolerances (soy, malt, barely, plant based proteins, all imitation sugars) so it limits me significantly. Thankfully I found a all beef base protein powder that I drink as a broth but its getting old FAST! My surgery was scheduled TODAY but I tested positive for Covid so it's postponed till September 27th. I can't imagine having to do the pre-op fluid diet all over again 😣. Please tell me more about the runny mashed potatoes and how you got around the high carb content. Thank you!!!
Received my call today and I am schedule for sleeve surgery on Feb 25, 2022. Nervous but, looking forward to become me again. Thank you Doc!!
That’s amazing mines is on February 24, 2022.

Hello Lora!
Thanks for watching!
@@Endobariatric do you think that having GERD will actually disqualify me from getting the gastric sleeve I want to get that one and my doctor said the same thing but it makes me wonder if I will have problems later?
@@FanDebronco97 Maybe this video can help you: czcams.com/video/ebkwtyNHspQ/video.html

I'm doing mine for 5 weeks 😢 starting tomorrow.
You can do it! Don't give up! Your life will change for good!
Getting my surgery tomorrow morning after being canceled and being on the diet 4 weeks!! I'm so irritable and fed up, just eager to start my journey!
@lolahernandez6871 I hope all went well....would like an update and how your doing!?
@vgarza1972 I'm almost 5 weeks out, and let me tell ya: it's been an emotional roller coaster. lol I'm starting my final post-op eating phase thie Friday, and I feel good. I had to remind myself after the surgery that EVERYTHING is a process. I wasn't what we consider " a food addict," but I'm happy to be enjoying real food again. Not saying I'm not tempted at times but I remind myself that I need to feed my body good things. The healing process is slow but good, I still can't sleep a full night on my stomach but other that, it's good. I started working on meditating and changing my mindset about life in general. 😁😁
@lolahernandez6871 Well congratulations you have done the work and I'm sure life's gonna get so much better so glad it's all went so well!!
I started mine today. Surgery is 9/20/23 for sleeve

Quick question doctor I got my gastric sleeve last year and I have lost Over 200 pounds . I went from 561 to 312 but recently I started to stop loosing weight and have gain weight (31) pounds back because of my bad drinking habits (alcohol with sugar) . So I decided to stop drinking alcohol and got myself on a 1 month liquid diet. Any recommendations for me to keep loosing weight again? Is getting into a liquid diet again with my small stomach would help me loose weight? I’m exercising as well and cut all sugars/carbs since liquid diet. Thank u & GOD bless. Need some answers thanks
Cutting the amount of carbs and increasing lean protein will help you. Also, try intermittent fasting with this.
Nope im convinced the pre op is just torture 😂 jk
Me too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙈Am on day 2
