We cover the first season in it's entirety right up to Omni-Man and Invincible's knock down drag out battle. My dad was saying he was bored and didn't care in and after the first ep. Then in the second he asked a couple questions finished ep 8 last night it's now one of his favorites.
13:11 Mark's legs were still healing so flying took the weight off them. I don't think it was bcuz het winks himself above humans like his dad. mans legs were just still hurting, you heard him say "ahh that's better."
But he does stop floating when he sees Debbie crying, and remains walking for the rest of the time in the house. Feel like this was done to show that Mark, unlike Nolan, does have that human connection

So my dad passed away at the end of last year, and The part where Noland was like what will you have in 500 years mark and mark says you dad I cried.

I like that it shows just how dangerous a world of superheroes would be to us mere mortals.
And it’s not like the superheroes are all dicks like in The Boys either, so they’re not edgy just to be edgy. It’s more like Marvel/Dc uncensored, where the superheroes are still good people doing good things, just kinda with a lot more blood and gore
Not like that exact concept has been covered to death after Watchmen and the Dark Knight rises originally came out
@@patrikmiles9342 No shit. That’s why the demon detective behaves just like Rorschach. The big difference is Watchmen lasts 12 issues while Invincible has over 100! The bigger difference is one story is a murder mystery and the other is a family drama.

Seeing Invincible easily deal with - or at least have an easier time dealing with - repeat threats that he had trouble with this season in season 2 would be an effective way of showing Mark growing stronger and more capable. He got his ass handed to him or purely lucked his way through so many fights this season.
Viltrumites get stronger by experience so he will be a bit stronger next season
I like how the code is in Red Rush time, and we can only prepare for the incoming Omni-Man.
I just noticed right after Omni Man tells Mark that he’s basically pure Viltrimite that Mark actually has his mother’s eyes regardless

I don't know what would be stranger, getting typecast as Abraham Lincoln, or having continuous success playing the character for different unrelated intellectual properties and franchises.
Daniel Day Lewis would NEVER do it and he's physically too small and looks older than The Immortal, but Liev Schreiber would 100% do it, he has the sideburns, the look, build and he's been Sabretooth before, so there's that 😁
No Daniel Day Lewis should be Nolan Or Thragg I think about his Gangs of New York preformance he grows a mean mustache
I thought mark started floating in the house at the ends because he was still recovering from his injuries and floating took pressure off his legs
That is definitely why he did it. Can't remember exactly what he said but he did say something to indicate that his injuries were why he was doing it.

tho', isn't that weird that after he started floating in the house, there are two pictures on the table, he looks to the one with mark, nolan and debbie, and turn it down leaving up only the picture of him and his father. All these while remembering a speech of his father saying that mark will eventually be just like him.

Robert Kirkman said in an interview with Heroes Reforged that he thinks he can get the whole book into 7 seasons, but he wants to go further than the book

@@peterdelisle7083 Indeed, I think time made he rethink some concepts. Personally I always thought Kirkman wasn't really planning his steps for the comic, at times making things rushed and at times taking too long. Which is nice

I think the intentional murder was a tactic to essentially extort Mark. Like an expression of "why are you making me do this?". I'm actually also wondering if Viltrum was watching what Omniman was doing.
In part I think it was Omni-man trying to rid himself of the conflicting emotions he himself was feeling as he had grown to actually care for at least Mark and his mother. Feelings that he couldnt overcome as evident by him not being able to finish Mark

The character Damien Darkblood I thought was interesting he's obviously inspired by "HellBoy". I liked that he was more than just a side character and was a detective plus he's voiced by iconic voice actor Clancy Brown! :D
Outfit is a homage also to John Constantine plus hes also a paranormal detective

You know what I really enjoy about Invincible over the other "what if superheroes but blood?"-type show out there The Boys? There's still optimism and good guys in Invincible. Mark, the Guardians of the Globe, etc, are still ostensibly good people who want to use their powers to be heroic and save others. Even Cecil doing shady government shit is still looking at things with the lens of "how can we make the world work when there's evil Superman?" type stuff happening and with the goal of keeping people safe.
The Boys isn't bad of course, but it's just non-stop cynicism and dourness and just everyone being a cunt, and after 2020 I'm just kinda personally over that much pessimism in my entertainment. To each their own though!

@@K3end0 For sure! They're clearly not going for the same kind of tone or story and that doesn't fault The Boys at all. It's just one of those personal preferences. The Boys is more a harsh cynical drama/action show with the twist of there being supers.

The thing i love about Cecil and all of the agency he works with is they are actually pretty freaking smart and they are doing their best to actually protect people. Seriously it was nice to have a plot where the government agency isn't evil, they are actually good.

I assumed Mark floating in the house was because he had just got almost murdered and his legs hurt.
Robert Kirkman stated that he wanted to do this series and work closely with it because he's a better writer now then he was back in 2003.

I still can't believe this show is more entertaining than anything else being put out these days. It's my favorite show right now not cartoon show. 10/10 I can't wait for season 2, 3 and beyond.

I liked the whole back and forth between Omniman and Invincible, it felt like he was truly trying to convince himself that he believed what he was saying. However deep down there's a part of him that wishes to live a normal life with his family.

i kinda just interpreted mark floating around the house as him still being sore, mostly because of the "that's better" line when he first does it
Seth Rogan voiced Alan the Alien, he also voiced Paul the alien in the movie "Paul" - in that movie there are multiple Invincible references; Simon Pegg even walks around in an Invincible t-shirt (I'm sure the kid in the comic book store picks up an Invincible comic as well)
The voice acting cast for this show is truly ridiculous🤯 so amazing
There’s no need for a live action movie Invincible but you already know I’m going to watch it at least twice in the theaters.
I hope they get a better animation/art budget next time around. Everything else about the show is fantastic.

Yeah that was in the second movie. His friend who was played by a different actor in the sequel was biting his style. He ended up betraying his friend and giving away his secret identity, while getting his father killed in the process.
That version of Ass-Kicker sucks.

I’m so happy that my favourite comic is finally getting the love it deserves
Monster Girl is funny to me because I'd previously read Black Hammer, which has a Shazam analog, Golden Gail, who has the inverse of the problem: She gained her powers as a little girl and so whenever she transforms into her superhero form, she's physically that. When she transforms back to normal, she's her actual age. And now she's a middle-aged woman so it has become weird for her and more than a little messing with her head (plus there's a weird crossover complication with her two "lives") and in the story's circumstances, she's trapped in her Golden Gail form.
a single issue away from finishing the comic and then I'll be able to listen to this. I really enjoyed it

One of the last story arcs shows that if he hadn't surprised them and they had been prepared they could have taken him. They have some help from someone else, but it's basically their win.
I hope people hop on Jupiter’s Legacy like they did Invincible, two of my favorite comic books getting adapations weeks apart is so wild
