- Can I Beat a Hardcore White 2 Nuzlocke Using Only the WORST Pokemon? You asked for it! We're doing another F-Tier Nuzlocke, this time in Gen 5's sequel games!
Some Pokemon are just inherently better than others - that's what GameFreak calls "balance." Some are so bad, in fact, that a lot of people, including myself, just rank them as trash against other potential picks. But what if that "trash" was all we had to work with? Could I still beat a hardcore Nuzlocke with them? Today we find out!

Ah yes, Maractus, Castform, Sunflora and Delcatty, the heroes/champions of Unova, we will never forget their power and sacrifice.
The castform living on 11 after hitting a hydro pump in the Ghetsis fight is the EPITOME of hype, and the reason I love nuzlockes so much. I mean, hell yeah.
Fun fact courtesy of a Flygon HG run I can’t remember: Challenge Mode in BW2 actually just makes the game easier by increasing the level cap, the increased levels of gym leader teams are impactful in the number alone and have no associated stat increase for the pokemon. It allows you to level your pokemon higher and gain stat points while trainer pokemon keep the same stats as Normal Mode
Wow really? From the research I did, I found most people agreed that "Challenge Mode" was actually easier, but I had no idea why. Thank you for clarifying! That's so interesting.
So really the actual challenge mode would be playing it with normal mode level caps. Hmm...
Not 100% accurate though. Gym 1 adds a Pidove to counter Riolu, also every single pokemon in the Elite 4 and Champion have held items

an important takeaway from this is that some of the pokemon ranked as F tiers are only ranked as such because of the alternatives; either better pokemon for the same role, or better encounters you're missing out on.
Maractus is a fantastic example, as for all intents and purposes it's a perfectly serviceable (if unremarkable) pokemon. It's only F tier because, in a normal nuzlocke, every single other encounter in desert resort is incredible. Darumaka, Sandile, Scraggy, Sigilyph, Dwebble... every one of them is a coveted nuzlocke encounter, while Maractus is just one of many grass types.
You'd probably have had a shot at Leavanny and either Whimsicott or Lilligant by now, and Maractus's only unique traits over them are the admittedly nice priority sucker punch, the situational water immunity, and the funny but inconsistent accupressure, so getting that instead of one of the all-stars of gen 5 nuzlocking garners a negative association.
But I think this is exactly why I love Nuzlockes, and this type of run specifically. Because you don't always get those coveted encounters. Sometimes you do get all those "F-Tier" encounters. And figuring out how to make them work is just another layer to the challenge, and to me that makes it more fun! The Pokemon might not be bad, and that isn't the point. It might even be good! But it is the worst in its role for a reason, and whatever that reason is, you have to work around it.

Maractus Is definitely an underrated Pokémon, Much better than anything else on your team. I used it on one of my Black 2 playthrough and hasn't disappointed.
Apart from that - great video, just like the one on Platinum. I'm glad the CZcams algorithm suggested me you channel
everyone sleeps on Dunsparce... but its ability to flinch other pokemon more often is a fun gimmick
The fact that White Kyurem knows Fusion Flare but the CPU kept using Ice Burn was a god send 💀

Awesome video! I can't believe how much Tweety carried despite me passing it up at the Weather Institute time and time again. Melissa is an unsung hero too. I hope this video gets as much success as your other F tier nuzlocke!
As for other challenges, it might not be interesting but I recently attempted a "minus 10% level cap" nuzlocke of FireRed, and it was surprisingly tough. Something like that is negligible in the early game but punishing in the late game. It makes vanilla pokemon a fair bit harder. It may be worth trying or adding as a rule to some future video to increase the difficulty!
I would say 95% of my favorite mons are considered “bad”

Also I bet clays gym was completely dark because you’re extra 3D rendering in your totally original Nintendo DS doesn’t do great rendering the dark cave mode, so if you turn it off you can see it somewhat correctly

Not to be harsh, but flygonHG’s F-tier was very generous to you this run. I feel like there are several mons he just hasn’t used in BW2 and assumed were bad
Also why did you level up your mons to 59 and not 58, which is the highest level of the E4’s aces
Outside of Maractus, I disagree about the generosity of his list haha. But the point of the challenge isn't necessarily to use pokemon that are bad, just ones that are considered worse than others. Mostly to force me to use pokemon I never would otherwise.
59 is Iris' ace level. The general level cap, though sometimes I change this myself, is to match the Champion's ace.

wrt challenge mode the levels actually don't increase the Pokemon's stats, so if you train to the normal levels making you under leveled you will actually be on par, and the mode will be still noticably harder because of the moves buffs + extra Pokemon buffs to bosses.

You could've made the Ghetsis battle easier by going back to the Pokémon center and swapping out your fainted Pokemon for the extra ones in the PC. The game does let you go back anywhere you want before the fight.
Well that just takes away the intensity of the moment, doesn't it? Though I guess that means they also realized that the gauntlet of fights was a little crazy.

Every Black and white 2 nuzlocke has the ghetsis fight ending with one Pokémon left that is poisoned. Every one that I’ve watched and every nuzlocke I’ve done is the same lol

How would you feel playing all 9 Generations? You choose 1 Game from each gen & each Mon that is Championed or Dies can't be used in later Gens.
This is definitely a fun idea I've seen some creators do. I feel like I'd have to have a bit more of a twist though, not just for the content to be different, but also for myself since I've played so many vanilla nuzlockes personally, haha. I don't really have a great idea for it myself right now, but certainly something that could happen!
@@keeperplays One guy named his Mons after Chatters and when they died they got banned, but Everytime he wiped everyone got unbanned and the encounters were reset too. You had to make a ban apology appeal to re-enter chat otherwise if he hasn't wiped yet. Basically the apology is about addressing the performance of the Mon you were named after & taking responsibility of it's actions which got it killed.

Why would Piloswine have been eligible to begin with? Mamoswine is a great Pokemon. Crobat is decent too.
You answered it! Mamoswine and Crobat are both great. Unfortunately, Piloswine and Golbat are not allowed to evolve.
@@keeperplays What I mean is what is so special about them that they are eligible if they are not allowed to evolve? Wouldn't all middle stage evolutions be eligible then?
@@kbowman772 Nothing particularly special about them, but the list that PokemonChallenges created does include some extra Pokemon to account for games where they can't evolve. Since that was one of the lists that inspired the run, I decided to allow them as encounters since I didn't have a reason to exclude anything else on the same list.
If I continue with "F-Tier" Challenges, I may move to creating my own lists, and might allow some other middle stages for that reason.
