    This watch reminds me of my first ever Felicia wind up watch when I was a kid. My dad bought it for me so I wouldn't be late for school as I had to catch a train and a bus to get there. This would be a nice addition to dedicate those great times of my youth. I hope you still have it Bear. It's a classic. The Rolex OP, not my old Felicia. :)

    it addresses a lot of things some people dont like about the datejust 41. The size, the polished center links, and the cyclops lens. I guess most people will not buy these if they just want a “rolex” watch because the design is so subdued and doesnt scream rolex at all. Its the watch enthusiasts who will appreciate this watch.

What makes this watch so special is its Rolex brand makes it special not the complications. The Rolex brand name is enough no need to complicate things. Watched this video fairly early on and now coming back. The white wasn’t my preferred color in the beginning - I was leaning towards the Rhodium, black or maybe blue. Then I went to check the DJ, the Seamaster, the IWCs...
    Now I think I’m wanting the OP white more than the other options - it’s something that draws you in gradually. Good choice and great review!

    I will not consider that as an “entry-level” it might have a lower price that’s a datejust or explorer I , but firstly it doesn’t lack details and quality compared to more expensive models of the brand and secondly you will still get a luxury timepiece ., a Rolex ! No entry level status here

    • @coffeeboyclips1973
      @coffeeboyclips1973 Před 6 lety +2

      Coffee BOY CLIPS with all due respect, in modern times 36mm is simply outdated. 38mm is really smallest wearable size.

      @coffeeboyclips1973 Před 6 lety +1

      Bear Clooney Watches that’s what I thought too until I recently bought my 36mm op. When I was at the authorized dealer I tried the 39mm op and it felt too big and didn’t fit right, I found the 36mm to fit and wear perfect. The 36 op wears and feels bigger than a previously owned Hamilton khaki field 38mm. Best to try on both but again it depends on wrist size as I have small wrists I find the 36mm to be perfect. I have some short wrist shot videos on my channel, have a look for a better comparison.

    Dear Mr. Clooney, I just came across and viewed your thorough personal analysis of the Oyster Perpetual with the matte white dial. You are an extraordinary advocate for this watch which sometimes seems to be overlooked because of what is perhaps too great an emphasis on Rolex Submariners and Daytona Cosmographs. The OP is indeed worthy of more respect. As one of the only available new Roles stainless steel watches for purchase at Rolex ADs, it still does not get the kind of attention of which it is deserving. The colored dials give buyers some interesting choices. I know that display backs have never been used by Rolex but the beauty of the movement is worthy of a display back. If the Oyster Perpetual was to be distinguished as the only Rolex with a display case, it might be something that would ignite greater interest in the Oyster Perpetual. There would be great enjoyment in being able to take the watch off one’s wrist and view the movement in operation. I always like your videos because you speak from your heart and manifest a deep and abiding love for horology. Best regards.

    You ask: the white vs the black. The black is breath taking, so deep. The white is more 2d, but arresting for the unanticipated complexity of its sheen. Vote is tough because in person the black takes my breath away. But the white has an unforgettable, classic layout. Since you already have the Explorer, this is perfect.

    Thank you for the review. This was my choice for 2018 Basel show as well. I really want to get this one since i don't owe Rolex yet. Not sure which dial black or white though. Black dial is more sportier, i think, while white is more dressy. Price wise it is an entry level watch but i don't consider it that way. This is probably the best looking and classy Rolex (at least for me). If you are looking for one perfect luxury watch which you can dress up and down, wear on bracelet or on the leather strap i can't see anything better on the market now. This would be one perfect watch (without complications) for all occasions.. I just can't see how you can go wrong with it So your journey to find a one perfect watch is pretty much accomplished, or at least to me. I would call it perfect sports watch.
    I was thinking about getting Explorer 1 but now that i see OP39 white/black i think this would be my choice. These OP 39 mm in white/black dials made me changed my mind.
    In your video "Top 5 watches that indicate someone is watch enthusiast" , as of now, i would probably put OP in number one spot. I already have Speedy and GS SBGR261, so OP 39 would be a perfect addition to my collection, which also includes Nomos Orion 38, B&M Chronograph 65542 , Halios Seaforth and G shock.

I really wanted Rolex to have released an OP39 in an interesting colour but unfortunately for me they came up with black and white at this BW2018. James, those are two very different watches! This one is slightly more universal in it's role as daily time piece and it's lower price. Rolex Sub is an icon. I can not make this decision for you, but I can tell you that you will not make a mistake getting either one of these great watches. Thanks so much for watching and hope to see you back soon

    I am looking to buy this exact watch or the SS Daytona white face. You mention repeatedly "entry level" for the 39mm White OP. Why is this "entry level" ? Is there some lack of kudos to buy an "entry level" Rolex ?
