- I spent 48 hours in skid row speaking to addicts and the homeless about the their lives today in modern America. Los Angeles has really lost it's grip with drugs and homelessness. I interview the locals to get a real insight into the situation here at skid row. The flesh eating drug is destroying America, taking over L.A, seattle, portland & kensington avenue in philadephia. Tranq is taking over america.

I'm A survivor of the Heroin--> fentanyl -->Tranq dope crisis
The drugs just aren't the same anymore as when I began
It's never been a better time in history to quit the shit!
I have 63 days clean today!
Congratulations!!! 👏 👏 You should be very proud of yourself… that’s BIG!
Congratulations, keep up the strong work
I was a hardcore dope fien junkie for 18 years, when I FINALLY surrendered to the bondage of self & got & stayed clean & sober going on (God willing) 8yrs (July 16, 2016). I am so fortunate & grateful to have gotten clean right before fentanyl really hit, though the last 3 yrs of my addictions were spent homeless, junked & twacked out of my mind on the streets of Southern California (thank God I was in the desert & not Skid Row, though I am originally from Philly & ran those streets for years), where I almost died from MERCA that hit my blood from a gnarly, untreated abcess. Let's just say if I can do it, you definitely can, one day, minute, second at a time. You will be in my prayers Darby, I mean that, & trust me when I say life gets easier & better with time as long as you don't pick up. AA saved & continues to savs my life, so I highly suggest joining a 12 step program & work that shit like you worked to use everyday. Eventually the obsession will be lifted as long as you stop fighting & fully surrender. I am, & you can be too, LIVING PROOF THAT WE CAN & DO RECOVER FROM THE HOPELESS SLOW SUICIDE ✌️ ❤🙏
Keep it up! It's extremely hard to do and you're doing it! 👏👏👏
Please just hang in there🙏💪 I will be 15years clean of the crack and heroin this September. It's definitely worth it! I feel horrified at all the synthetic weird drugs out there these days. I mean you got people trying to eat other people ffs crazy world we are living in. You have made the right choice and sometimes it will seem painful but in the end the pain of giving it up outways the pain of being stuck in that horrid life. Really wishing you all the best and Good luck

He’s a liar. He said he worked at a hotel housing homeless people 😂
That poor guy who lost his tent at the end. Hes already lost so so much & for this to happen, is just heartbreaking.
You're so right Maria :) That poor guy lost absolutly everything. Just totally heartbreaking... What are your thoughts on becoming an activist by offering solution? Access to bathing a couple times a week in your home. See something do nothing? How about doing something? Beggers asking in despair, always give cash and follow your emotions for hopes of long term friendships. Starbucks for example saw something and did something (love them). They installed biohazard disposable boxes in all bathrooms (New York City) for needle users. Isn't that heart warming?
I hope his dog is ok
Nobody gets help until they hit rock bottom - nobody is at rock bottom now. They get money, food, clean needles, etc STOP ALL ASSISTANCE & STOP THE FLOW OF DRUGS
@@avpdallasno one should be giving them anything. Addiction works opposite of human emotions - you have to let them hit rock bottom, every time you give money, you are just paying for another trigger pull in the game of Russian roulette.
The fact none of them want to leave & are happy, they are getting way too many freebies.
I have been there, this isn’t coming from a place of hate but from first hand experience & knowing the hell they’re in inside their head
@@jenniferslatten6705Thank you! I hate to see people living in tents but giving active drug users housing is going to be a disaster. What is this have to do with a flesh-eating drug

@BonnieMendez-qy3yh I'm not arguing that America isn't a continent. In fact, there are two continents named America. But regardless all American cities have a skid row.. Name me a decent sized city in the America's that doesn't have a drug problem? Don't say Mexico, it comes from there and is cheap. Haiti? Nope. South America? It comes from there as well. Canada? in Europe it‘s not like that!
People forget these are people too whether they are on drugs or not.
Yup. Homelessness is all of our shame. Do they’d better remember they are human, just like them, because it can happen to anybody.
Exactly
I believe that most of them have gone so feral that they forgot that they are people themselves...
If they reduced themselves to basically animals by their own actions and decisions, why should I be the one who should remember about their humanity?

My legs are completely fucked from using tranq in Philly. I spent two weeks in the hospital bc of infection and was on IV antibiotics and almost lost my legs. I have 18 days clean today. I'm trying to get into a program but rehabs refuse to take me bc of my legs even though I've been medically cleared by a hospital. This shit is no joke. Most hospitals dont know how to treat it and there's gonna be a lot of death and amputations. In Philly ayou can get 2 shots out of a $3 bag and be well for most of the day. I've literally shot up in front of multiple cops daily and they do nothing. So with how cheap it is, how it's not being pursued by the police, and how relatively new it is that no o e knows how to treat it it's a complete disaster in Philly. And they are putting tranq in everything it's in the coke and it's in the meth. You take a hit of crack and you get the initial rush and feel the numbness then 3 minutes later your nodding. You can get well from dope sickness smoking a $3 crack rock. I just wanna get into a long term program. I'm done with the withdrawal and need to get my wife and daughter back

Hi Aaron. There are homeless people in tents in this country. I’ve seen them in Liverpool. I think the saddest aspect of this video was seeing that little toddler in the pushchair being pushed along side the s$$&hole aka skidrow. I pity any children amongst that!! Even if just passing through
I've seen homeless people pitch tents in Sheffield town centre, out of the way in the town centre and they get taken down within a couple of days, But it definitely happens here in the UK
It does but US cities are off the scale compared to here.

He specifically said it was fake.
I travelled with the UK convoy - 'New' Travellers. Some were homeless, kicked out of care, some wanting to live a green 'low impact' lifestyle, some farm/festival workers. Sadly most just wanted to be with other people who took drugs. I'm now in my 60's and people much younger than me are dying, because intoxicants are TOXIC. Some have cut coke or heroin out of their lives, but most refuse to give up alcohol and smoking.
Love the backup blues riffs... and the streets is the Blues.
I cant understand how there's not a unanimous feeling of extreme prejudice towards the drug supply first and foremost. Even when people get help, if it's around when they get back on the street, the odds arent that good. I hate with all my heart seeing people in this state. I feel the same for the supply
This really looks like a hell hole
Its like drugs turn people who do them into the same person with the same fate. So sad.
Out of disbelief, we made a pilgrimage to Kensington Ave. Philly. It was worse than any CZcams video. I can't believe human beings would even consider living like that and wrecking their entire lives over a substance that easily kills you, or ruins your life!

Drugs destroy the brain. When your brain is dying in places never intended, we can't expect someone to be able to control it or rationalize things. They aren't stupid (can't say that for all though), their brain is impaired.
It's not about being smart or stupid. Addiction is a disease and it's power is unlike any other. You don't have control over it when you're in active addiction.
Yea you’re pretty dumb to be a nurse. 🙄
He didn't mention (or maybe I missed) the drug that was supposed to have been the subject of this doc. I'm curious, some years back I had watched a few docs about a drug out of Russia called 'Krokodil' and remember what it did to the user's skin and it sounds an awful lot like what you are describing. It's a dirty homemade drug in the opiate family, made in a way that reminds me of the cheap, dirty, kitchen-sink, shook-in-a-gatorade-bottle meth labs. (Sorry, I watched a doc about it and have that mental image stuck). The footage was utterly gruesome beyond comprehension. People were literally rotting away as they went about their day (I didn't mean to make that rhyme). I still remember seeing a guy who's leg was rotted down to the bone and his foot fell off into a bucket they had it resting in. Fell. Off. I was amazed looking at that why he wasn't either screaming, or blacked out from the pain that he must've been in - I mean the bone was completely exposed like what you see when you're almost done with a chicken wing. Unbelievable!
