I'm so happy to finally share with you the last bit of the making of the Breathe dress from the 1998 film Ever After. The dress is worn by Danielle de Barbarac to the ball in her big Cinderella moment, and it's a beautiful Italian Renaissance inspired dress in a myriad of silver trim, embroidery, and beading. This is beautiful! I can see how it would take so long to complete. The embroidery is absolutely gorgeous.

I just finished sewing my Lady Galadriel-inspired wedding dress
It took me four months, and it was a nerve-wracking experience from start to finish, even though the design was well within my level of sewing experience. But when you are working on your dream dress, every single step is nerve-wracking

It's a proof that if you really want to do something, you can achieve it. It might took 4 years, but now you have an incredible dress. And how much did you learn by making it!
Just such a beautiful creation! I quilt, so 4 years on this dress is proof that with patience and perseverance we can accomplish complex projects. Something also needs to be said about the beautiful local you chose to film the reveal at. What a magical spot. And yes! Keep adding to it!

That gown is a piece of art - so delicately butterfly wings beautiful. The background for the reveal was beyond perfect - like you'd stepped into a medieval fairy story tale 😊
Holy smokes! If a project took me four years, it would be because I threw it in a corner and refused to touch it for 3.5 of those years. Your tenacity is really really impressive! The dress is stunning!

Oh wow, Cat! This has got to be the most epic dress ever! 🥺😍🤩 It's beyond beautiful. Exquisite. I had just turned 19 when this film came out and it always wanted to recreate the library dress. I even went out and bought the Simplicity knock off pattern. Then shoved it in the drawer and never touched it. 😳 ironically my daughter found it and the cheap wal-mart fabric is got to make it with and she tried to make something with it. Its hot fit issues and the instructions are missing so she was flying by the seat of her pants. Still I applauded her efforts. I personally love how your version of the breathe dress came out. You have the patience of a saint for all that detail. I probably would have driven myself crazy. I can't believe it's been 25 years. I think you're right and this dress was meant to be. I'm so happy for you that its done. I think I was here for part 1 of the dress series. I remember you were feeling overwhelmed by all the embroidery at the time. I just can't get over how beautiful it all came out. This is one to be proud of. Hats off to you. 🙌🏼❤️❤️

My dream dress to make. I can't imagine taking four years to make, what patience. It was well worth it. It is a complete work of art, you should be very proud of your finished work of art. It is beautiful!

The first part was the very first video of yours that I've watched maybe a year ago or more and i was hoping that you will finish it one day! And it is finally here omg it turned out so much better than I imagined! There are more videos of people recreating this dress that came out after I watched the first part, but I was still really waiting fot yours cause the dedication with hand embroidering skirt pannels is what got into my hear in the first place. i don't think anybody spent this much time on the details like you did and it paid off!
