- Today we take a look around Western Power Distribution, 20 Sunningdale Rd, Leicester LE3 1TZ.
We notice the increased security since our last visit so we take a closer look.
A member of staff inform us of the reason as he leaves and has a laugh about the lack of free charging for staff vehicles.
We then take the drone up for a final shot from the sky.
Enjoy!
Thanks to @Carl & Alison Positive Audio Liverpool who donated the drone music for this video. To listen to the Music & Drone Footage only, see this Playlist - • DJ Audits / D.a.v.i.d....

What a lovely guy he was, a credit to his company too.
The red hv cables contain a lot of copper as do transformers in the windings. I used to work for sse, we had a spate of transformers being pushed over and drained then pikeys put kids inside live transformers to recover the copper windings. They also used to steal copper earthing, hv cable and generator cables until they changed the law on scrap. My job was asset protection I used to do sting operations with the police at scrap metal merchants. They introduced smart water systems and anti theft paint which also helped curb thefts.
I once worked for SSE too, we discovered a transformer on its side at a disused site - who ever did this had some knowledge as they had switched off the HV fuse switch feeding the transformer to allow them to steal the copper core..
An audit was quickly done to discover what assets where still live on other disused sites....
He was a genuinely nice guy you can tell, reminds me of the nice uncle in the family that’s always there for you 🙂
Surely free charging for employees would be considered a benefit and would incur Income Tax - can somebody make HMRC aware of this dodgy practice immediately.
Snitches get stitches
@@Sam-qh1sh Ha im reporting you to the tax department for offering free stitches!
@@macsmith6216 you been looking through my curtains again?
@@macsmith6216 You got me there, if you've got it flaunt it.
I think you should know I made the original comments ironically, I have spent my entire working life trying to avoid paying Income Tax.
@@DaveCarterAL they are a charitable donation, I’ll get tax relief on them 😀
GOOD INTERACTION WITH THE GUY NOT TRYING TO GET A REACTION BY BEING STAND OFF ISH AND RUDE LIKE A LOT OF THE AUDITOR'S TRY TO DO A GOOD DIFF STYLE WELL DONE
Nice guy. Makes a refreshing change. Their security is not adversely effected by his conversation- he just confirms very high security and a rapid patrol response. The bad boys will keep well away for sure.
Those cameras DJ are live feed to a control centre so they are constantly watching you. they now put them in builders merchants to stop anytime theft.
love that he explains all security details to you. lol
Good audit from DJ. Very interesting content, nice length of video and very entertaining. 🙂
So important that you show interactions with decent, nice people. There are some amongst the numpties 👍🏼
That worker got off his ass almost like he had just been burnt as soon as he saw the drone😂
omg, it's like the cost of a soda. If they let the employees have a free soda once a day, that's about the same cost as the electric charging, why so stingy!?!
of the cost of heating up your meals in the microwaves, it's literally pennies
He's a very personable gent.
What a pleasant guy
I worked for another electricity distribution company which suffered thefts - depots are targets for - Copper, vehicals, generators, cables, diggers, trailers, hand tools, most of the gear you film was RN2c ringmain units, a bunch of pole mounted transformers and some unit sub/package units.
You flew over an area which had a green floor, this is a bunded area to store oil filled equipment with the aim to capture any leakage of oil prevbenting it seeping into the surrounding area - not all depot are in towns. Give them a +1 for good house keeping.

I really prefer you talking with low music during the drone footage. You also made me buy one of the first gen model drones. I’m a hobbiest and wanted to start small but bigger than what I have now.
Brings back memories when I used to build the package substations one or two them in the yard.
What a nice chap and a nice audit, when compared to some of the bonkers ones I’ve seen recently.
lovely man. Great asset to the company
Different sort of copper today then DJ? 🤪👍🇬🇧
Copper cable gets stolen with amazing regularity.
Enderby Rd opposite NEXT. New mass storage battery being installed!
i work in a carpark here in Kilkenny Ireland and its recently owned by the hotel across the street and they make staff pay €3 per day for using the carpark , but if staff are on a split shift the have to pay twice, plus if a staff member is using the carpark on their day off they have to pay the full price as they are not rostered for that day, its a disgrace, its all about money with the company that own it, they charge anyone they can get money out of even their guests staying in hotel, the other company that owed it use to sell a weekend parking pass for €10 for 4 days but this new company are charging €24 for 3 days,
Nice guy 👍
Hi DJ audit do you take requests
I'd love to see you do one with auditing Britain
Hey DJ .. I can see why you wouldn't shoot at 60fps now.. the camera you walk about does 4k 60fps does it? But the drone is 4k 30fps and i believe the mini 3 thats coming does 4k 60fps
The armadillo's connect a circuit between each 1, 1st used in prisons back in the 90's, on many construction sites & yards now
The police have orderd 200 electric cars they are sick of police putting petrol in diesels . But the new Electric cars have big stickers saying these cars are Electric only not gas .
That guy will probably get in the shit giving information out
Copper cable I would imagine. Western Power, I have some dirt on them LOL.
The silence of electric vehicles is unnerving.
Copper is very good price ..those rolls have masses of weight in copper..I understand why their there..decent guy and convo..clap all round 👏
This needs more likes
hope you are ok DJ its been a few days. unless you are having a well deserved break. enjoy if you are :P
Bless him but I think the guy gave a little much info regarding security... everything except gate code 😆
🤠😎
Just a normal person. How nice
I would imagine this guy got his arse kicked for even discussing security.
some of that cable is worth up to £3.50 a kg as scrap
When I drive to work, I do not get free fuel, so why should people get free electricity from work?
Anyhow, the fella gave you all the security info you asked for, you should have asked the PIN code to get in, I am sure he would have blabbed that as well
or maybe not - as others have said the sites will have CC TV installed, in my time before entering site - with the keycode - out of hours you would call the control room to inform them you are going in and for how long. If you didn't the Alarms went off, you locked out with keycode upon leaving - and you called the control room confirming you had left. if you didn't they call you..
Those Armadillos need HL2 upgrades
My highlight of the day... 😊✋✋✋🥰❣️❣️🤠🤠🤠❤️❤️🏖️🎊
A copper...or a lot of it that's worth filming.
If you are doing a 7 hr working day and your car is on charge for that same time i feel sure it could be a cost of around £5
They will charge for anything Nigel
Hi dj have u seen ab video that he has done on Derbyshire hq were u had that serious offence against you ?
I had armadillos on my site when I was working on a building site they are loud and annoying.
Scrap metal is worth a bloody fortune these days, DJ. Copper, aluminium, lead especially pricey.
Look at the space..needs a big brick building. May stop thefts...just saying like 👍
Free electric charging is a benefit in kind which is taxable.
One wonders ( me, that's who), if the driver was later queried about 'the MASKED MAN' and their conversation.
In the future free workplace charging will be standard. The employers who charge will be the same ones making staff bring in their own tea, coffee and milk from home. Working for the NHS. that will be all of the NHS then ;)
They have a duty or care to keep consumers bills down.
Western power have nothing to do with consumers bills bud, they distribute electricity not sell it
dude~ bravo- taht is breathtaking job, goodbye!.
DJ, number 1 auditor letting side down with poor sound quality ---WIND NOISE
New mic ordered today 👍
GDPR.... Question to all... I know this applies to Gov and companies, BUT as most auditors monetize their channels, surely then all the vid become commercial and thus subject to all relevant GDPR even in public if a business / commercial enterprise ... These are not simply a member of the public taking a private video for his/her own use.... These are commercial business, monetized on CZcams for commercial gain..... Fan of auditing FYI just a query I had....
Frauditing and baiting
So what your saying DJ is that since you filmed this site 1 year ago they have been robbed 3 times.
Free electric charging would be a taxable BiK (benefit in kind), wonder if they're declaring that to HMRC!
Scrap copper goes for £7.73 per kilo. Good reason to rob this place.
looks like western power distribution are exempt from wearing a seat belt when driving electric vehicles.
Have you been locked up DJ? 3 days since last upload mate.
Hi, I’m not locked up. My main employment has just been much busier so no time to film but I was out yesterday so videos continue very soon 👍
It's amazing what people will steal to get copper, even railway signalling cable endangering passenger trains, pretty sick really.

@@haldo691 NO WAY THE LAST TIME I DID COPPER WAS BACK IN 1996 AND IT WAS £700 A TON I WISH IT WAS £7000......
Hello Dj I thought I would share a bit of really interesting information with you. There’s a reason why when auditors film police station car parks they get a very strong reaction. It’s because you can obtain personal information about a person from there number plates and the police know this. People always believe it’s a no no but go about it correctly and DVLA will send it to you . A lady went right down the side of my new Mercedes’ Vito with a shopping trolly so I took pictures and put a note in her window. She then sneaked into the car and raced off when my back was turned but still had the note. I vowed then I would find her and she would pay. After months hunting for her car and not being successful I then filled in a V888 form and DVLA sent me her address. I couldn’t believe it. She was a rich GP with a very influential husband. I sent a very strong letter to them and the husband turned up at my gates fully apologising and paid for the complete respray of the side of my van.
Bit in your case you had ‘reasonable cause’. The DVLA website says that you need to show that you have reasonable cause. You wouldn’t be able to request info because you felt like it. You could get yourself in the poo for that.
@@AndersMcTee I agree with you and I could obtain it again if I wanted, Think smart and you always get what you want
@@buddysinsight9834 sounds dodge
@@AndersMcTee Nothing dodgy at all you just need justice when someone damages your hard earned possessions. This gives you the options
@@buddysinsight9834 oh no, I totally agree with that. By law they have to provide their details and shouldn’t have legged it. Just saying that trying to obtain details without that cause isn’t right.
What is the point of this video? I have no idea, however, what did you interrogate the van driver for? And what are you going to do with the information he passed on to you?
DAVID needs a fan club😃🤣😎
Those armadillos only have 3 legs so couldn't you just knock them over with a bit of wood?
Copper lots and lots of copper that's what thieves want .
I want to no if you no a friend of mine craig Wilson
I enjoy watching your content and a lot of the other audits on CZcams... don't you think it also has a lot of advantage to the criminals, it's like your almost sussing out where stuff is kept and security etc ...
just saying !!
How many criminals are watching DJAudits to find weaknesses at places though? I'd guess not many

Electricity company can’t be seen to be giving free electric away the public would not be happy.
Free electric to private cars is just tax dodging by companies
