- Today we take a walk around Western Power Distribution. Nothing to report really apart from a strange wire around the gate (if you know what this is then please let us know in the comments) and a plastic barrier at the bottom of the fence.
When you get a power cut in Leicester, its Western Power Distribution that come out and fix the problem.

I worked on the electronic security installation at this Depot, the cable on the fence is a PIDS system and the cable consists of two small wires that when the cable is vibrated causes the two wires to short together generating an alarm.

I was on the wind on this Depot, and I blew over it and confirm this is bollox
that is the wrong type of board a paddy board but with a barrier around rendering it a footway closure. It needs a footway closure sign with a 1m width footway passage around it with road warning signs for drivers

That was a chilled vid, thanks DJ. What Camera do you use? And the wire is a Sensor, we have it on some military bases too. They are movement/vibration and you can flick a switch and Hear what is happening on that section of fence/gate. I think it was called PIDS or P.I.D.S.

The wires on the gates probably connect to magnetic contacts to either set the alarm or to let someone know that the gate is open

The barrier at the bottom of the fence is so rubbish don't go through the fence under the bushes.
They’d use the sf6 to quench the high voltage arcs within the switchgear.
