I personnally have been taking 6000 IU of Vitamin D since I begun listening to you Dr. John. The results are nothing short of remarkable. First of all my immunity is working much better, my low level inflammation has basically vanished, and my muscles feel much more flexible. But the biggest difference is with my mental health as I find it much easier to relax and letting go of my anxiety. Of course I know that this is anecdotal evidence, but for me it has made a real difference.

All from the 70’s AD-drops were given for free to parents of children up to the age of 5 in Sweden. They have changed it now to only being Vitamin D and only for children up to the age of 2.
First of all, lots of food items are today enriched with Vitamin A. Second the type of Vitamin A often used in supplements which is animalic (retinol) can cause osteoperosis, weakness of the bones which is totally contraproductive.
It’s much better to get your Vitamin A from a healthy diet containing caroten (yes, the stuff from carrots). That’s the plant based Vitamin A source which does not have these adverse effects.

I tested low for Vitamin D, and started taking 2,000IU daily, and still testing low for Vitamin D. Increasing the dosage to 3,000IU helped, but I live in the Pacific northwest and there's not much sunlight. When I contracted COVID-19 I suspect one of the reasons why I survived the infection was the very fact that I had been taking the larger dose of Vitamin D. I have now increased that dosage to the findings revealed by John's tenacious research.

Because in general, initial loads affect the severity, everybody knows that. However, there are many other infections, especially the slow growth, likes leprosy, malaria, or the aggressive and deadly ones, likes Ebola, cholera, tetanus, rabies, prions-infection, that the severity depends on the reaction of the immune system and the strains of the pathogen, not the initial loads (providing that they got enough number to successfully infect the hosts).
Second, nobody said that vitamin D plays no role in the severity of any infection, if the patients are in deficiency, let alone COVID-19. The dispute is, at what level the medical community should agree on as adequate to support a fully functional immune system.

high-quality, high-level evidence for supplementation is frequently lacking. Vitamin D may prove to be a good surrogate for general well-being.

Thank you so much in advocating for the use of vitamin D3 and the suggestion about the incidents in the vulnerable groups who are likely to catch COVID19. My hematologist friend in the Far East has explained to me a decade ago the reason why so many are vitamin D deficient - even for those living between the Tropics. In the US holistic doctors have been advocating for 5000 iu per day for a LONG time according to your age and weight. It is of course safer to have our 25(OH)D3 level checked regularly. I have mine done in the summer and winter to adjust for sun exposure etc. Our teacher Dr Norm Shealy (founder of the American Holistic Medical Association) at our institute told us about it since the beginning of this century. He even advocated the doses to cover for H1N1 exposure and we have had patients on ECMO because of the disease and we were well covered and everyone was fine. In the UK we are not so well informed ... We are all covered where we work with Vitamin D3 (I take it with vitamin K2 as advised by Dr Shealy for synergy). It's about how much we have been informed and be open-minded. Vitamin D3 is a great immuno-modulator.

Just an FYI....Caltrate is made with calcium carbonate that is very hard to absorb in your body. Citracal is what you want to be taking. It's easily absorbable with or without food and contains all the necessary minerals except K2.
But, "Jarrow's Bone-up" is the best of all the calcium supplements you can buy on the market. It's in powder form inside a capsule. Contains all the minerals (D3, K2, Boron, Copper, magnesium, etc) necessary to transfer calcium to your bones and the areas it needs to be without depositing it in soft tissues.

But long before that, they were often deliberately inoculated with matter from the spots of smallpox sufferers. Variolation= deliberately inoculating with variola (smallpox); vaccination= deliberate inoculation with vaccinia (cow pox). I think variolation was done up to a hundred years before vaccination, but cowpox turned out to be safer as cowpox was normally mild and not disfiguring. I think Edward Jenner, who introduced vaccination, must have had an "eye for the girls", as it was his observation that milkmaids always had unblemished skin, where so many others had pockmarked complexions, that drove him to his discovery of the cross-immunity. I am not sure he necessarily understood how it worked, but it did.
