I had a period in a care home three years ago, bedbound, for “end of life care”. Didn’t take! Medical support was an absolute joke so I took matters into my own hands. This included an exercise regime. I also came across a report stating that vit. D deficiency was chronically endemic in care homes, I started dosing on my own account. I had nothing but opposition from the care home who were searching my room and confiscating any they found, because they objected to “self medication”.. So I resorted to smuggling and subterfuge (they never found the stach I had in the toe of a sock!) Improvement proceeded apace and I left this “care home” six months later and came home. I continued with vit. D and now health parameters I can measure are all ideal. Body weight, BMI, blood pressure, rest heart rate, blood oxygen all ideal! Under covid-19 conditions my exercise is a daily brisk walk 11,300 steps or so. I am 76. I still continue with vit. D 2400 IU and vit. K2. I asked my gp for a vit. D test. She refused “we are not allowed to do that!”
Surprise, surprise! Care homes rapidly became hot spots for covid-19!

I am living in the U.S., 64 years old, and female working full time in a busy Home improvement retail store. Half of the employees in this store are easily over 50 years old. And at this time half of those have contracted and survived Covid-19. (And for some, it kicked their arses I might add.) For the record, I take high doses of vitamin D in the fall and winter months, double mask, wash my hands and or use hand sanitizer at least 8 times during my shift. (Social distancing is a joke in this environment.) I have dodged the bullet so far. Best of luck to everyone!!!

We need to learn more about the pandemic of 1918+ to help us solve this one. History repeats itself if we don’t learn from it. Social distancing, face masks were used then to decrease transmission. It was WW1 and troops were transported everywhere and then returning to their homeland spreading it everywhere. They called it the Spanish influenza because they were the first to report it. Every country involved in the war, had a gag order for putting this in the news except Spain. From what I’ve read, they think it is more likely that it started in the U.S. The pandemic mysteriously was created and mysteriously disappeared in less than 3 years then leading to the roaring 20’s. Let’s keep the science going, let’s be on the up and up and live in kindness and elevate our nations resonance. Our world is in a very low resonating state and we must rise above to survive. Prayer is known to raise our spirits and this elevates our personal resonance. Let’s sing and praise our maker. And let us learn from science and not be too quick to judge. This starts with ourselves and leads to working together. Praying prayers for love and healing to all.

I’m very glad to hear you’re doing well!
I have a point of confusion wrt to dosage requirements. It’s not a crucial question, since one can take fairly high dosages without ill effects, even if most of those high dosages are not being absorbed.
But the question is this: what are the minimum dosage requirements and how can they be detected?
My understanding is that vitamin supplements not absorbed by the body are eliminated. I see this when I pee. My urine is much brighter and darker. When I’m drinking plenty of water, my urine is lighter. Not enough, it’s darker. In neither case is it brighter, as when I’m taking vitamin supplements. The brightness is NOT a concern. I understand that it means I’m getting more than enough. More to the point, I’ve started taking 2000 IU daily of D3 in gel capsule form, and my pee is brighter.
Am I correct that this is a good indication that I’m getting sufficient a sufficient amount (without getting laboratory tests to see if I have sufficient or deficient levels).
Anyway, I am thinking of trying to get everyone on my street on vitamin D3. I live in a working class neighborhood in Mexico. I’m already buying surgical masks for several families here, and I hand out masks to maskless people on the street. Currently there is a lot of unemployment here due to Covid, and the economic situation is even more precarious than what we are suffering in the U.S. The pandemic has hit my street pretty hard: 8 people that I know of have died, many others are gravely sick.
I know there’s variation from person to person in D3 deficiency, thus there’s variation in minimum effective doses. The supplemental capsules I’m taking are inexpensive for me, a single person with regular income. But it adds up if I’m going to be buying sufficient capsules for 60 people. This is the reason I’m asking, and I hope someone can give me some insight.I’m very glad to hear you’re doing well!

When this awful pandemic started I was puzzled why Jamaicans in the UK where being affected more severely by CoVid 19 than Jamaicans at home. Immediately I thought of vitamin D as the most likely explanation and typing "vitamin D" into CZcams bought me to this channel. I am at once disappointed and surprised by the lack of a quantitative study of the effects of vitamin D in relation to CoVid 19. Thankfully, and largely due to this channel I was able to implement a household mitigation strategy based on science. Also, thanks are due for the many comments and advice from the viewership.

Well, the papers cited in this video show that there has been interest and research based on a virus that emerged about a year ago. There could have been more resources put into it, as the science behind Vitamin D is well established. We (meaning our medical/scientific community) understand the mechanisms by which Vitamin D functions as part of our metabolism. I think the slowness of promoting it or incorporating it are more due to bureaucratic inertia than grand conspiracy.
And let’s be frank: researchers have been working on many possible therapies and prophylactics, with many dead ends. And there are unscrupulous leaders that have been fraudulently pushing the repurposing of some medicines, diverting resources away from more promising leads. You see this with the push for anti-parasite treatments with little to no applications as anti-viral medications, a push not backed by evidence, but with disinformation, distortion and outright lies.

I cannot second the vit D advice strongly enough. I suffered endless colds almost every winter for decades. When I started getting pains in my arms eight years ago, I was tested for vit D - and they found NONE in my blood. I eat healthily but worked long hours and exercised indoors. Since taking regular doses of vit D I've had maybe two colds in 7 years and the osteomalacia has gone.

My entire family got Covid in December...my 81 year old mother gave it to us! We’ve all been on Vit D, Vit C, zinc and Quercetin since April of last year...including my mama, who has congestive heart failure, has diabetes and on meds for high blood pressure! We ALL did fine!! Even my 81 yr old mama! She developed a cough, that never got really bad, none of us ran a fever, 3of us lost taste and smell for about 4 days, and the other 3 did not. Two of my sons have asthma, but didn’t have any problems at all!
We all started on HCQ 5 days after the first symptoms started...and within a week, we were all fine! It was just mainly a stuffy nose for about 3-4 days!
Mama has her Vit D checked 3 weeks after she recovered and it was slightly higher then her Dr preferred, but her Dr said that’s ok...she’d rather it be too high verses too low!
I TRULY believe that the Vit D and other vitamins and the HCQ saved mama’s life!! TY Dr Campbell for telling us about vitamin D last year!!

Since then I've been taking it daily, sometimes missing a day or two. I've noticed that my fingernails are stronger and I just feel so much better. I've read that there is a danger in taking vitamin D in large amounts, but so far I have not had any problems. Vitamin D, like A and E, is stored in your fat so it can build up unlike other vitamins that excess is excreted in urine. I also take several other vitamins, like the B complex, and calcium and zinc. I have never felt better in my 72 years on this planet!

Very interesting to see more support for Vitamin D. My family of 5 (ages 66, 61, 23, 22, and 17) all caught Covid-19 (positive PCR tests and typical symptoms) around New Year. We had all been taking highish doses of Vit-D and none of us suffered more than a few days in bed at home with flu-like symptoms. Thank you, John, for your early alert about Vit-D.

I have a horrible immune system and 2 years ago I was constantly exhausted. I had blood work done and was extremely low in vitamin D. I started taking 3,000 icu’s (is that what it’s called?) of Vitamin D everyday and I haven’t even gotten a cold in 2 years. My sister also has a horrible immune system and doesn’t take vitamin D and she did get Covid. So this is really interesting to me!

I ask for, and to date have always got, a printout of the results.
Always question what you are told and if they don't like that they are not doing their job properly. Luckily, I have developed a very good relationship with my doctors. This approach, of course assumes that one is able to do such research and the has confidence to speak up. For many people such as old folks, this is not the case. @@Dani-wv7ev COVID-19 Vaccines - A Case of False Advertising
Now, if the COVID-19 vaccine really isn’t a vaccine, why are they calling it that? While the CDC provides a definition of “vaccine,” the CDC is not the actual law. It’s an agency empowered by the law, but it does not create law itself. Interestingly enough, it’s more difficult to find a legal definition of “vaccine,” but there have been a few cases. Martin provides the following examples:
      • Iowa code - "Vaccine means a specially prepared antigen administered to a person for the purpose of providing immunity." Again, the COVID-19 vaccines make no claim of providing immunity. They are only designed to lessen symptoms if and when you get infected.
      • Washington state code - "Vaccine means a preparation of a killed or attenuated living microorganism, or fraction thereof …" Since Moderna and Pfizer are using synthetic RNA, they clearly do not meet this definition.
Being a manmade synthetic, the RNA used is not derived from anything that has at one point been alive, be it a whole microorganism or a fraction thereof. The statute continues to specify that a vaccine "upon immunization stimulates immunity that protects us against disease ..."
So, in summary, “vaccine” and “immunity” are well-defined terms that do not match the end points specified in COVID-19 vaccine trials. The primary end point in these trials is: “Prevention of symptomatic COVID-19 disease.” Is that the same as “immunity”? No, it is not.
There Are More Problems Than One
But there’s another problem. Martin points out that “COVID-19 disease” has been defined as a series of clinical symptoms. Moreover, there’s no causal link between SARS-CoV-2, the virus, and the set of symptoms known as COVID-19.
How is that, you might ask? It’s simple, really. Since a vast majority of people who test positive for SARS-CoV-2 have no symptoms at all, they’ve not been able to establish a causal link between the virus and the clinical disease.
Here’s yet another problem: The primary end point in the COVID-19 vaccine trials is not an actual vaccine trial end point because, again, vaccine trial end points have to do with immunity and transmission reduction. Neither of those were measured.
What’s more, key secondary end points in Moderna’s trial include “Prevention of severe COVID-19 disease, and prevention of infection by SARS-CoV-2.” However, by its own admission, Moderna did not actually measure infection, stating that it was too “impractical” to do so.
That means there’s no evidence of this gene therapy having an impact on infection, for better or worse. And, if you have no evidence, you cannot fulfill the U.S. Code requirement that states you must have “competent and reliable scientific evidence … substantiating that the claims are true.”
Why Are They Calling Them Vaccines?
As noted by Martin, you cannot have a vaccine that does not meet a single definition of a vaccine. So, again, what would motivate these companies, U.S. health agencies and public health officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci to lie and claim that these gene therapies are in fact vaccines when, clearly, they are not?
If they actually called it what it is, namely “gene therapy chemotherapy,” most people would - wisely - refuse to take it. Perhaps that’s one reason for their false categorization as vaccines. But there may be other reasons as well.
Here, Martin strays into conjecture, as we have no proof of their intentions. He speculates that the reason they’re calling this experimental gene therapy technology a “vaccine” is because by doing so, they can circumvent liability for damages.
You’re being lied to. Your own government is violating its own laws. They have shut down practitioners around the country, time and time again, for violating what are called ‘deceptive practices in medical claims.’ Guess what? They’re doing exactly that thing. ~ David Martin, Ph.D.
As long as the U.S. is under a state of emergency, things like PCR tests and COVID-19 “vaccines” are allowed under emergency use authorization. And as long as the emergency use authorization is in effect, the makers of these experimental gene therapies are not financially liable for any harm that comes from their use.
That is, provided they’re “vaccines.” If these injections are NOT vaccines, then the liability shield falls away, because there is no liability shield for a medical emergency countermeasure that is gene therapy.
So, by maintaining the illusion that COVID-19 is a state of emergency, when in reality it is not, government leaders are providing cover for these gene therapy companies so that they can get immunity from liability.
      Under the Cover of ‘Emergency’
As noted by Martin, if state governors were to lift the state of emergency, all of a sudden the use of RT PCR testing would be in violation of 15 U.S. Code FTC Act, as PCR tests are not an approved diagnostic test.
“You cannot diagnose a thing [with something] that cannot diagnose a thing,” Martin says. “That a misrepresentation. That is a deceptive practice under the Federal Trade Commission Act. And they’re liable for deceptive practices.”
Importantly, there’s no waiver of liability under deceptive practices - even under a state of emergency. This would also apply to experimental gene therapies. The only way for these gene therapies to enjoy liability shielding is if they are vaccines developed in response to a public health emergency. There is no such thing as immunity from liability for gene therapies.

      @@MarcosElMalo2
Marcos, well done to you for thinking of others in this way!
It's hard to know the effective dose because it's different for everyone. In happier times it would be far easier to get a test first then take the time to adjust your dosage through monitoring every 3 months or so. Unfortunately we are in a crisis where time is not our friend and the pressure is to protect as quickly as possible so hitting the ground running is preferred than taking months to adjust
All I can say is that preferably try to get tested first. This is the MOST important thing you can do as it's so much harder to make projections and adjustments with no starting point
But from what we do know remember:
It's far better to take Vit D regularly in 'smaller' dosages than occassionally in very large doses ( 50 000 IUs plus) It's at it's most effective as a PREVENTATIVE measure rather than in huge dosages at the first sign of illness
However ,large Bolus dosages are still better than nothing as they are highly unlikely to harm you and many physicians have reported very positive results from them
Remember NOT to confuse this with the administration in hospital of LARGE doses of Calcifidiol, the more metabolised , biologically available and POTENT form of VIT D which certainly DO appear to have very impressive results in treatment
Its FAT soluble so always take it with a meal or snack that includes some lipids. EG Healthiest- Avacado on toast with butter. A handful of nuts and slice of cheese A glass of full fat milk and some cubes of chocolate
Or just with your main meals if they are balanced properly
Try to take it around the same time every day and NOT in the evening as it can in cases cause difficulty sleeping I believe
4000IU daily is safe for ALL and well above the ridiculous inefective and rickets based dosage reccommendations still permeating much Governmental medical advice
Studies show 10 000IUs daily is also safe BUT at this level for any extended time particular concern should start to be taken about Calcification and it is essential you also take Vit K2 Mk7 daily also
Magnesium must be taken also to ensure efficient absorption. Remember the NO1 truth of supplementation that many still ignore It's NOT how much you 'take' but how much your body ABSORBS that matters
If you are older, Obese, or have darker coloured skin then your ability to absorb vitamin D will be effected and you will need higher doses than someone who is not any of these to achieve the same results as them
No one can predict exactly how any given Individuals body will react
Personally I'd say all things being equal, with no test, I'd start with a 'high' but still conservative loading dose as it's a fair assumption most people are deficient to some degree
EG 6000 to 8000 IUs daily for 4 weeks
Then 4000 to 5000 IUs daily for another 12 weeks
This is just my own opinion, and Iv'e erred on the the high side of being conservative
For example , many people take 10 000 IUs daily with no problems but what's most important I'd say with ANY Dose above 2000 IUs daily for any extended period you MUST take K2 as well 200mcg daily on average
So you could load with 10 000 IUs a day safely even if after you felt better dropping down the daily dose to half that. But it's fair to say that a loading dose is pretty much standard and safe if there is an assumption of insufficiency
I like to set myself a WEEKLY IU target . It doesn't matter if you 'miss' a dose, remeber Vit D3 is Fat soluble and stored well so your levels won't just suddenly drop off a cliff , it would take weeks in a healthy individual to see any significant decline
I hope that at least something I've written may be of help

Interesting video, thanks for the explanations. I have a couple of points. First, I am white British male, 70 years old and living in Vietnam. Maybe relevant, maybe not.
I have spent my life at sea so maybe more than the normal exposure to sunlight. A few years ago, I worked in the Persian Gulf and took daily exercise in the sunshine. While on leave in Singapore, I was not feeling well and so my GP suggested a blood test in which they always test for vitamin D. The results came back to say that I was almost zero! I asked how this was possible, given my (fairly) healthy diet and relatively high sunlight exposure and he simply said it was age related. As one gets older, the ability of the skin to absorb whatever it gets from the sun and the body's ability to convert this to vitamin D decreases, in my case to negligible values. A high dose of Vitamin D for a month put me right and I continue to take a moderate dose every day, while still getting a relatively high exposure to sunlight.
It seems that in Asia, testing for Vitamin D is the norm as I have also had tests in Vietnam.

We did it last year and, I have to say, the results were impressive!
The stuff grows everywhere over here and is so easy to identify. Pick and air dry the leaves for a few days, scrunch them by rolling them into a ball in your hands, place them on flat trays covered by a tea towel until they smell a little bit like fresh wet hey, in the meantime pick some of the plants flowers (while they're pink and have petals), and take them straight to the now slightly formented leaves, fire up the oven on a pretty low heat, and combine the flowers with the leaves on the tray in the oven until they're both dried out.
Place in mason jars for a few weeks more to allow the flavours to develop and brew up using near boiling water in a Bodem lose leaf tea brewer/strainer pot, pushing down the plunger a few times to mash the leaves a little after a couple of minutes steeping and pour.
Can be had with no milk or sugar too which is nice :)
