- In this video, I'll be reviewing the NZXT H9 Flow case and sharing my experience with it. I was excited to get my hands on this case, but there are a few negative aspects that I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews. I'll be going through these issues, so you'll know exactly what to expect before purchasing this case. While the looks of this case are amazing, there are a few things to consider before making your purchase.

Firstly, the tempered glass touches the cables of the GPU, so I recommend getting a vertical mount for your GPU. Secondly, putting a radiator at the top is a bit of a challenge, as the cables are in a very tight space. If you plan on doing any custom liquid cooling, this could be a problem. The power supply is located in an unusual place, which may cause some heating issues.
However, the cable management is excellent, and there is ample room to store your cables. There are filters all around, which is a huge plus. Overall, if you're planning on putting a 360mm radiator at the top, be prepared for some very tight issues with the cables. If you have any questions about this case, feel free to leave a comment below. I hope this video helps you out!
Thanks so much for watching

That is not true. The top space is ok to install a 360mm AIO, i did that without any issue.
So did I , my AIO sits on top between the top panel and the radiator mount .
Without a issue top space was enough and on the side also 360mm radiator fits great
did y'all installed motherboard and connect cables firt and AIO next or was AIO first? in this video it clearly shows there's no space for CPU cables to fit through after installing radiator + fans
@@CrazyBRTthen just wire it before it's not difficult, no need to return it 😂😂😂
I also installed a 360mm radiator on top, I don't see what the issue is, plan ahead and build knowing what goes in what order, it wasn't bad at all- in fact this is the easiest case I've ever built in.
1. Why do you have the AIO set to exhaust out the side? You should have it as intake drawing fresh air into the case.
2. Install 3 (or 2) fans on the bottom of the case for intake for the gpu. You spent nearly 2k on the components, surely you can opt to put 3 fans on the bottom to let your 4080 breathe fresh air from the table top.
side 3x120 intake (rad), bottom 3x120 intake (2x140 or 2x120 optional), top 3x120 exhaust, rear 1x120 exhaust
For the radiator intake air draw, should I just flip the fan on the radiator to intake, or do I have to flip the whole radiator to intake?
bro my pc is getting really warm it feels like a heater acctually
with the case i really like it but i dont thing the pc really breathes at all since around is all covered with glass and also top wich force the airflow to be blocked in certain kind
it keeps pushing the hot air of the aio radiator from the side cause i have intake from top
@@JackNack-pz5wr Not sure I understand you, air flows through the radiator no matter what, the direction of the fans is all that matters.... and keeping the pump below the highest point in the loop.
@@user-dk3bs1ft4x you have intake fans at the top? warm air travels upward so it's more natural to have exhaust fans at the top
@@user-dk3bs1ft4x The fans should be pushing out. If you put an aio radiator on the side you need additional fans on the bottom to push cold air up.
Dude my radiator is like 38mm thick I mean I get I have some problem putting in but how is a regular 360 radiator having such issue?
I know this is 8 mo later but Cable Mod sells a 90 deg adapter that solves the cable hitting glass part. I just purchased this case and will probably go with this solution
Did you do that? How do you like it sir,
@@TarkovGuy1738 Yes they are great make sure to get the correct config they have some that the little wires are on top and some on the bottom depends on maker of your GPU and if it has the new plug type or not
Get a right angle cable. Now would you keep the case
I have just built in this case with a kraken 360 elite rad at the top and its fine. Close, but works just fine. Stunning case. Cpu (i7 13700k) 26c and Gpu 31c at idle with stock fan setup.
what are your fan setup like. Blowing directions?
It’s just not for you.
I have this case, no problem with the cables touching the glass, this case is AMAZING.
How about H6? Will my zotac 4070ti tri-fan fit it right? Glass also touches the cable of H6 version of this?
Vertical mount the GPU, problem fixed. I didnt have issues with my Lian Li Gallahad 360mm. I did a push pull up top, and a 120mm in the back for exhaust, and 6 120mm intake fans.
An even cheaper option that allows for the GPU to be horizontal would be getting custom cables that are lower profile or flexible. Seems like a chill thing to solve
doesnt the psu fan blow outward? so wouldnt it suck heat off of the MB? and since its mounted up top, the heat is at a higher point and wont rise through the gpu before being pulled out the rear fan.
can you tell me what is the better case?
Thanks for that, which alternative are you considering now?
Sir, what is the graphics card used here. It looks stunning. Never seen such an arrangement before. Is it a casing for the GPU?
founders edition
Thanks for the review. Been using this case for a couple of months. Had the same concerns, the graphic card close to the glass and the AIO radiator so close to the top power cables. I am using an Arctic 360 rad on the top which is thicker than most rads. Managed to get the power cables in by bending them off to the left where there is a larger cut out for them to get through. The cables are very close to the fans but do not touch the blades, was concerned the first time fitting them lol. Think I will get the CableMod 12VHPWR 90 adapter in the near future, just to be safe as I do not like the cable hitting the glass, all seems fine and cable and connector temps are good but worth getting the adapter for the peace of mind. Happy with the case over all, very easy to work on. edit Going to leave the cablemod adapter due to the current problems with burning adapters and connectors, jeez!😶
had the same cooler and same issues in the o11 dynamic razer edition
@@gezgez2 Thanks for sharing that George.
Could you sandwich the AIO on the top slot for better clearance? Looks like there might be room between the bracket and the top mesh
I did try that and there is no way to get the hose or cables in after as there is no opening.
Tried this with the Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO and it was too thick. I did however set up push-pull fans though. I put the Galahad 360 AIO fans on top of the tray for pull (not many fans have these specs for pressure through a RAD, so I need them for my i9-1300K). I set up Lian Li Infinity V2 Mirror fans on the bottom of RAD as push. On the side again I set up a push-pull on my 3080ti LC 240 RAD. I do wish NTXZ had left that 3/4 inch higher also to get the CPU cables through easier. But the two-thumb screw top lets you just move the RAD with all 6 fans up so you can get to the CPU connecter on the motherboards.
1:24 you can also get a CableMod 12VHPWR 90 Degree Angled Adapter
Totally, I should have mentioned that, great call
so his first issue is absolutely fixable, thank you
This aged like milk.
I’m just having issues installing my GPU it’s a MSI Ventus 2x 3060 if anyone has any tips that can help me they would be very much appreciated cause I am losing my mind with this
I have this case with a 360 artic cooler mounted in the same place as yours but what makes this case awesome is I have it as push pull so it has hidden fans in the back and SL 120 inf in the front. The tight spot on the top I do agree I wish they had allowed about 3/4 of an inch more space there but the case has so much flow with the 13 120mm fans I have in it that top mounting the rad was pointless
Thanks Same rad owner and you comment helped me to decide to go for this or not
Agreed. I do the same push pull on my 570X on front with 360 rad'
who cares how fans look?. if you don't like the case because of bad materials, or the layout isn't your thing that's more important than having a fear of electronics showing in a fishbowl.
@@gorkskoal9315 what are you taking about ?
@@hellhawk4680 I just copped the case what’s your specs bro?
I wouldn't worry about hte cables touching the glass, but I would invest in a GPU antisag support bracket.
The one I went with is an L one that attaches ont he back pci slot openings, and is a bar that juts out underneath the GPU from teh back with a little rubber slider to go between it and the GUP near the end between the last two fans. It's a total b1tch to install but looks a lot better than the bracekts stand verticallyand wedge under the GPU and sti on top of your PSU shroud.
On my Corsair 5000X the space between the top mounted 360 Rad and the motherboard was super marginal too. I made it work but man you have to do some finger acrobatics to plug those top mounted cables in and those two 8 pin power connectors in the corner. SO even with a differenet case you may run into the same situation. And yes I dvrsed plenty at Corsair but his seems to be some kind of weird normal. All they had to do was give me like one or two more centimeters between the top mounted rad and the botom mobo and life would of been so much nicer. The bottom of the motherobard has the same issue it goes right to the PSU shroud making plugging in those edge connectors a pain and an extra 2 cm would of been nice there too.
I woldn't build in a new case after you did all that work, you're just making more work for yourself. If it works right now fine run run with it until your next big PC build in 5 - 10 years. It's not worth the hassle and headache just because a few things bug you. That's my 2 cents. The reason being, your eyes once yous tart working are always going to be on the monitor, not the case, and at home nobody is going to care about your case or how it looks. All yoru time is spent lookign at desktop pixels and not the case. That's why I'm goign to just leave out the RGB in my next build. It looks gorgeous pretty but goesn't really add any power to the comptuer.
I don't know what your talking about... this case is insanely good. Awesome temps, câble management , etc
I think he is the lazy guy that wants the perfect solution that does everything for him (instead of experimenting and trying by himself).
maybe they made the aio a tight fit so we buy nzxt aio ?
You can buy an adaptator 90 degres to fix the problem with the graphics card
Just seen the vid and having just bought those same adapters @ 3 for 10 quid next day amazon I defo agree with you lol
I already ordered the case but thanks for this heads up. I think I'll get 90 degree cable adapters to mitigate the space issue
i heard those 90 degree cables are not good with gpu's
It’s fine the cable really shouldn’t touch the glass if they are plugged in securely and are tied in correct in the back with all that cable management junk all the other stuff is kinda just yapping the PSU shouldn’t overheat at all unless you got a crappy brand assuming you already got it delivered you probably know this all
I have a 7900 GRE and it fits fine, cables don't touch, the 4090 is just a extremely massive gpu
I choose to get the nzxt Kraken it works better and add additional fans from nzxt works to really cool but all check those dimensions before purchase
Is this compatible if I do Push and pull AIP configuration on the top mate?
Apparently not. Havent tried it myself
I have some questions, like if i want to put a AIO 360 i can put on the side, top and down? And i will have problems mounting a 4070 ti of tuf gaming or a Xfx merc speedster 7900 xtx?
side is best place yes dont put it on top cause the hot air coming out of it will be blocked on the top cause of the glass since there is only a small space for it to intake or outgo.. i had it like that before and the pc is like a heater it keeps bringging hot air in
@@user-dk3bs1ft4x ty for the advice!
Thanks for your Video. Did you saw Mr. Matt Lee's Video regarding his Asus ProArt build? He used the same case and put the radiator on the top. You can see in the video that there is enough space for the CPU power connection cables. The radiator thickness is the same (27mm). Not sure if the mainboard or the fans thickness is the issue here. As already mentioned by other users for the GPU you can use the cablemod poweradapter.
I will check that out, was it the elite or the flow version
@@htpoint Flow version
My Galahad RAD measured 29.5mm thick and the fans that came with 25mm. The Lian Li flat-head RAD screws are just about touching with the fans.
Are you getting an issue with extremely loud fan noises in the bottom position too?
Personally that wasn't a huge issue but there is a way to lower the noise for the bottom fans if you get something like a "Fan silencers if you google: Shakeproof Washer for 120mm Case Fan" its because these fans dont have any dampeners and it transfers all that noise/vibration around making them louder.
But if you are getting the nzxt h9 flow I would definitely suggest getting some better fans something like the be quiet! Light Wings that would work nicely here or Noctua if you have the budget
The cable touching the glass might help keep it secured. I have the 011 dynamic and a Asus TUFF 4090. Cable touched the glass enough to support it but not mash it. using a fasgear 12vhwpr cable for 3 months worked great. Got the 90 degree adapter from cable-mod in march. Yesterday system randomly rebooted at idle and immediately reboot trying any dx 12 game. Tried to disconnect the adapter to re-seat the gpu and it's fused to the connector. I mean fused. Found the problem of the reboots. did a full clean install prior to rule out software issue.
I installed Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 in my H9 flow same as many other people
Great video, case looks amazing everything you spoke about doesn't bother me, big but is the power supply, it defo is gonna let out heat. So not gonna go for that case 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Thanks
Does this case have preinstalled fans with rgb I´ve heard that it has 3 with rgb in the front and 1 without in the back right?
Yes
I know im really late but If you want the case to come with rgb fans then you need to buy the NZXT H9 Elite case as this is the case that has 3 rgb and 1 regular fan compared to the H9 Flow which has 0 RGB fans
Just built this with an RM1000x Shift PSU, Arctic Freezer III (360) AIO Cooler and a 4080 Super and everything fitted without any problems for me.
Good to know I bought the corsair rm850x shift didn't even know that I bought the shift version tbh and was worried that hooking up the cables was going to be a problem
I see a couple comments here asking what you ended up buying as an alternative or suggest as one. Ditto. Thanks.
Im planning to buy 4070ti but cant choose between h6 and h9. With this review, i dont think h9 is a good choice but i am afraid of that gpu will not fit into h6. What should i do?
same, im not sure either
I'd go with the h6. I just went from a h6 flow to a h9 with a new cpu mobo combo and kept my 3080 ti founders. Max temps in the h6 on my gpu was 69-70c I'm hitting 77-79c In the h9. A 4070 ti should fit in it no problem my 3080 fit with plenty of room to spare.
@@Atomic_dipper thanks i appreciate it
I wanto build my first pc woth this case and I don't think I will need a radiator so would this case be suitable for my needs?
For sure, if you are not planning to do any radiators, and just use air cooling than you should totally be fine, what GPU are you getting ?
@@htpoint a 3070 ti
Thanks so much for this info. Was aiming this case but not anymore 👍🏽
Glad I could help
what did you get instead?
Didn't buy anything yet. Was going to build a new game PC but can't afford it @@neofoo
Hi! Is this a 4080 founders edition? I'm not sure if my asus tuf 4070ti would fit in there without getting a vertical mount. The 4070ti is sligthly wider than the 4080 fe so even with the angular cable it could be an issue
Yes this is the 4080 FE, if you are mounting it horizontally , something like a 180 Degree CableMod adapter should technically fit in, because it measures 21mm from the connector to the outer-shell
yes it does i have an 4070 ti and it fit perfectly without vertical mounts
I miss the old scool cases which weren`t overengineered so much but had actual space for everything, everywhere. No matter which case you look at there seems to be always a part which makess you worry, will it fit? Will a bigger Power Supply fit? Will taller AIO fit? Will a bigger GPU fit? etc. etc. etc.
Just make the entire cases slightly bigger in all dimensions and everything is solved. Oh and I would prefer a bigger focus on dust filtering and ventilation over glass pannels and room for RGB controllers and cablemangament "stuff".
If you're not interested in glass panels and RGB then NZXT just isnt the brand for you. That's like going to a hotdog stand and saying you feel like a burrito. You're in the wrong place.
No offense dude but what are you doing is dual chamber if you didn’t know
in horizontal gpu mount will it touch the glass in h9 elite as well?
no it should have enough clearance
Can you not put the top radiator on top of the mounting tray and sandwich the tray with the fans underneath? Pretty sure that's why I'd didn't fit on top. Otherwise why would the top tray have a recess that looks perfect for the thickness of a radiator? Just my observation here. I mean no offense.
Great question actually that would have been perfect but unfortunately it doesn't let you do that also no opening of any sort if you try to do that, I did try to do that. The Asus gt502 case that I reviewed has that option which lets you do that which is great.
@@htpoint then it begs the question, can fans go on top of the tray and it would have to be a pull instead of push?
I have the H9 Flow and a Karken Elite 360 and it is possibe to sandwich the rad up there.
It is a tight fit, so taking the filter off would be best (you don't really need the filter anyway as air is being pushed out).
I don't understand why they don't make wider cases for these wide GPUs that have been out for a while now. Not everyone wants to pay more money and have worse thermals with a vertical mount
My buddy has the o11 and he has the same exact issues
I'm not sure why you're having so many issues feeding those cables between the fans and MB, but looks like you have plenty of room.
What he didnt say or show is that there is actually the full thickness available at the back end of the radiator its about a 1sq in area that cables easily fit thru and are so close to the CPU sockets.
what is the maxium width that a gpu can fit in without issues?
yeah I seen how narrow how that case is, you need a angled adaptor, which I personally want to have to use! so I will pass lol they need a re-design. if that's the 4080, I would imagine the 4090 is even more of a problem lol
1:35 thats a VERY nitpick issue. It doesnt matter at all if the case does that.
isn't mounting an AIO with the tubes at the top of the radiator the worst way to mount it? water goes to the bottom and air goes to the top.
thabk you, I consider Corsair 5000D Airflow...
Yea why would you stick a damn POWER EATER right there by the MB??? I thought it was bigger... LoL his GPU is bigger than the case.
just buy a vertical mount and enjoy the case, why would you horizontal mount a gpu in a case like this....?
So what you recommend
The nzxt h9 elite, will definitely have more room at the top, what kind of component's do you have ?
Nice view tnx
does it come with a veritcal mount for the gpu?
No
NONE of your issues with this case are an actual issue. man up!
I guess I'm ignorant but i completely assumed it had some sort of RGB :( Every site shows nothing but RGB in pictures... Was super disappointed when i had to read fine print basically.
Yes. The installed fans are not RGB.
so what this guy is saying if you have a 4090 get a mount
Well after watching the whole video I think I'm gonna go for Lian li O11 Evo . In that the power supply is in bottom so no heat transfer to motherboard.
did you get your evo ? I found evo is not have filter so problem for a place with dust.
@@Singh.Manjeet Neither, for now I went for 216. Will buy the new O11 when it releases later this year.

*I have a 2700x stock air cooler and RTX 2060. * is this case overkill? or should i get the H7 RGB flow instead? this case is so beautiful 😭😭 but not enough RGB
both of those cases are overkill for those components. the case is nearly the same price as your CPU.

This was a waste of time.
It's a guy complaining about things that aren't really an issue.
Saved ya 5 minutes.
It's a no for me. PSU location is so the worst ever.
Just seems like a h6 flow with worse airflow to me

Where did you order?
Get a proper power supply and you will be just fine.
You moaned about a load of things that are not a problem. NZXT offers the vertical mount for the larger GPUs for a reason. How can you moan about something that has been thought of in the design, when its your own installation failures that are problem. Get a grip. Wasted my time. Stupid review.
Your returning it but they're all simple fix 😂 wtf
bro just wants to be different
Well, I need a different video, this man does not manage very well this topic of buiding pc´s
I don´t care, I bought it already.
I would go with the elite version which isn't going to have some of these issues at least the top radiator issue.
@@htpoint but it has a top glass which is kind of blocking air... again a issue

Review is biased towards NZXT, I hate this reviewer, I have seen plenty of other reviewers who actually like this case and excited about it due to it being out of stock. garbage review, u got tooooo many negatives.
Honestly it kinda is garbage. Both my top radiator bracket thumb screws were stripped out as well as both side panels upon even opening it. Struggled through the build and my gpu temps are abysmal compared to the h6 flow I was using.
Oh no my gpu cable is touching the glass I might get electrocuted or start a fire😂
