I don't have an Audi but I'm still watching #hope
I own an Audi A1 2020 model with wireless car play. When the system is working, it’s great ! But I often get problems. CarPlay won’t work. The connection is there but it isn’t working. I need to turn off\on Bluetooth to make it work (iPhone X).

On my Audi Q3 (2023) with MMI (3801 version) it doesn't connect wirelessly.
Is there anything I can do to make this work?
Will 2018 Q5 get firmware updates to support this?

Wireless CarPlay is *supposed* to work this way. But the connection process always fails when I try it. I’m left to use a cable instead. Audi technicians at my dealership say it’s Apple’s fault. [2019 eTron]
Will this work with my 2016 Q5?
Im have the same issue my Q8 gives me a failed notifications. Took it to the dealership to get help but they are saying it’s my phone . I told them i had no issue connecting with my etron didnt believe me and i had to bring my etron to show them. My Q8 is 21” can anyone help with troubleshooting.
Just bought the new model Q3 to find the wifi version of carplay doesn't work in this model, only the old fashion usb cable, not good eh!!

My Jan 2019 UK A8 does not have wireless CarPlay. I am kicking up a stink as Audi announced ALL new models from May 2018 would have it. I think they are only enabling it in the USA which just is not good enough.
My 2019 Q8 has wireless CarPlay! Sweetness.
A6/A7/A8: OK. But Audi A4 2019 does not have Wireless CarPlay even with the Qi wireless charging pad option in the armrest + the Audi Smartphone interface/AppConnect option!
You may be able to enable Wireless Carplay with a device like an OBDeleven

DK Danis, yes the new gen A6/7/8 have level 4 or 5 autonomous driving which is actually higher than any production car today, even Tesla’s, but they don’t have gesture control.

No, I have a 2019 A8 and it does none of that. And they lied about wireless carplay. Its turned off on all but USA models and you get no reply if you ask why that is.

NO wireless Apple Carplay in my Belgian Etron. De option is not enabled in the cars MMI. They build the Etron in Belgium, well understood...
What about Android auto?
I hardly use CarPlay & stick to the Mmi Interface instead.
what I would like is to be able watch CZcams on the mmi screen while stuck in a traffic jam as it make time goes by faster.
Never gonna happen as it is not safe
John Tan CZcams does not allow that since it goes towards their policy and plus CZcams has not contracted with Apple Car Play
Just put your phone on a mount if you want to do that
WatchDogs29 yup... like to play the sound thro the car’s speaker system rather than directly from the phone.
just that it will be cooler if can use the MMI screen... once in awhile I do use it to watch Dvd movies

Audi USA it is very unfair that different regions are catered differently. I have Q7 2017 yet there is no possibility of the upgrade and dealership is asking for super crazy prices here in the UAE. Can you be more customer friendly in other regions?
