    I just did a similar video a couple of weeks ago. Figs make an oil cooler kit for the F (you probably already knew that). But nice seeing others making ISF videos, were a rare breed.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety +2

      Yup, this video has been on my to-do list for a while and finally got some time to making it. I mention the RR-Racing and Figs auxiliary oil coolers but I think it's a joke how quickly our cars oil temps get so hot on track in warmer weather. Lexus should have addressed this issue before the release since they had to have had this same issue during testing. It was only recently that the auxiliary oil coolers were released so for years ISF owners were SOL. Glad to see you are making videos too! We've gotta spread the word!

    All valid points from your experience with the F. It’s like grasping at straws to come up with top five gripes for me, but her goes:
    1) Brake dust from stock pads, breaks are awesome just more dusty .
    2) Shifter doesn’t have a boot cover. Seeing the gate looks cheap. If it had a cover, I would say the interior is perfect.
    3) Narrow tires from factory, easily fixed. I run 245 out front and 275 rears for the summer setup.
    Actually, can only come up with three items that are a little annoying, that’s it. The F is a great balance of power, handling, and reliability.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 4 lety +1

      Nice. You're right, it's a good all around vehicle, jack of all trades and master of none. I remedied the stock pad brake dust with new Project Mu NS400 pads. They're great for street use and hardly any dust.

  • @amgone75dm
    @amgone75dm Před 5 lety +8

    In the development of the ISF video you can see the oil at 5 bars running at Fuji. And in the summer Fuji gets way hotter than Cali. So the engineers did see the oil getting hotter but I guess they didn't think it was a concern.

    2013 ISF here, all valid points, however the oil issue can be addressed with a quality synthetic oil like Redline 5W-30. The stock headers are known to crack, so yes, replacing them with PPE or Sikky works well and gets you a lot more power. The rear seat? well, unless you're 6'3, you'd be ok.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety +1

      Have you personally ran your car on a road course for a full 20+ minute session at full throttle on an 80+ degree day and not had any oil overhead issues with that oil? If so that would be great to hear as I would love a fix that doesn’t include the known fix of having to buy and install an auxiliary oil cooler. Thanks.

    Probably my biggest gripe with this car is it doesn't have a good sport automatic mode. It's pretty obvious the trans logic is to get in as high a gear as fast as possible. Even with sport mode engaged, it takes forever to downshift when you punch it because you're cruising around town in 8th gear! Oh, and a nice analog clock would've been nice.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety +2

      I agree with how long it takes to downshift when punching it in 8th but during spirited driving it’ll hold gears in corners and deceleration fairly well. I usually move over to manual mode though.

    Nice Video, My ISF has the intake and PPE headers full on exhaust system. The only thing I hate is when I come to a stop on traffic light, someone thinks I want to race. Most people here on Guam think my ISf is either a 250/350 moded with ISF body kit. But when they hear the motor rev they know it's not a Badged F car.
    It is a sleeper car, that would have gotten recognition if Lexus tuned it at least 500bhp N/A . Just the thought would have made a huge difference for the market, I am sure Lexus was still remaining to the Luxury heritage and had to detuned the output bhp to comply with US standards and be salable.
    That's where import tuner companies make their $$$ by providing the aftermarket upgrades. It will be nice to take on the shelby mustang, hellcats, track hawks, Corvette z06/Zr1 and BMW M5. But when their superchargers or turbo chargers kick in, on a freeway race the ISF can only keep up... I still believe it's more on the driver than the car itself.

      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety +3

      No doubt Toyota/Lexus is conservative, especially with change. At the time of release of the ISF they had no performance vehicle classed above it in the Lexus lineup so it’s not as if they had to cap the power to not step into the next territory, kind of like how Porsche has to do that with the Cayman -> 911. Tire size could have easily been increased at a very small cost if any and greatly helped grip/performance out of the box.

      Wrong, several ISF owners I know have this issue. What ambient temps are you running your car on track? Also, maybe you’re driving style is different.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety +1

      If I’m the only one with this issue then why would Lexus add a secondary oil cooler to the RCF and GSF as well as at least 2 different aftermarket companies create a solution to the oil temperature issues the ISF experiences? For only the one ISF owner that’s experienced high temps?

      @AImighty Před 5 lety

      ISFASTER someone mentioned that before. I took my car to Lexus and 2 master techs said it was the drivers side mechanical fuel pump. I even made a post on club Lexus and most people said it was normal. There’s a video on my channel, check it out. I noticed the noise after getting an oil change and oil filter change.

    • @XBrandonLeeX765
      @XBrandonLeeX765 Před 5 lety +1

      1 I Agree with ISFaster. Cracked headers. I had a master tech change my oil. Needless to say he thought this was a V6. He had no clue it was a V8. I got a low oil engine light and was really pissed. I had to babysit since then and watch them pour my 9.8 quarts of oil. Pathetic.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety

      Yikes. That’s sad that a master tech had no idea the F has a V8. I always check my oil level after service and the mechanics at Lexus haven’t let me down.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety

      I think the ticking from the fuel pump is normal. If you hear the ticking upon cold start and it goes away as the car warms up then I think that would be a cracked header.

    • @ISFASTER
      @ISFASTER  Před 5 lety

      Have you ever looked at the stock system vs an aftermarket system? If so then you would see all the crimps and terrible angles the exhaust gases have to pass through. Lexus could have still passed EPA standards with catalytic converters in place and extracted more power.
