i added 2 cups of water & when simmering the water dried up & left the plain rice there.. luckily caught it and put another cup of water & turned the heat down to simmer & didn’t turn out to bad
Just quick tip everyone’s stove top is different when I left it on medium heat I noticed it was sort of boiling more than simmering I turned it down a little more and it turned out fine. Just stay watching it I advise really.
Now is not the time I tried making it on my stove and it’s those fire kind and the rice didn’t cook all the way... do you have any tips on how to get the rice soft?
I just made the rice and it turned good. I just waited like 12 minutes when it was simmering because I was using long jasmine rice. I was moving the rice too
Grace Luna , so update, i did add milk like you did, and i keep stirring for about 20-30minutes and the rice was really soft then ! i guess u just have to be patient with the rice cause it does take time
Jazlyn Tlatenchi HAHAHAHA my rice burned at the bottom 😂😂😂 and it ended up boiling over lol I don’t think I simmered correctly! And yes, I think the cooking time is longer because it’s 2 cups of rice. I made another recipe the other day using 1/2 cup of rice and 1 cup of water and it cooked very quickly. My rice still ended up hard :( tasty in flavor but hard :( will have to try again!
omg no way ! mine ended up burning too and boiling to the top ! but the rice was still soft , it’s so weird that ur rice was hard still thru all of that, my mom just told me that to warm up the milk BEFORE u put it to the pot that way the rice will soften and it won’t get stick to the pan , maybe you should try this way , she told me right after i made it smhh !😐
Hello I’m sorry hun , so with milk and rice you have to be very careful because it will get stuck to the pot so you always have to make sure you are stirring & my stove temp was at med-low heat ! Everyone’s stove temp is different if you see your rice still needs more cooking just add a bit more milk and leave it on the stove for 10min longer but making sure to stir ! Arroz con leche can be very easily burned so make sure you keep an eye on it when cooking it
This was so good and I'm only 12 and and these are easy steps
That is great to hear ❤️❤️

I mean, you COULD add water to the can to get the remaining lechera out, OR you could get a spoon and eat it up while the Arroz con Leche cooks ;)
I am guilty of doing that in the past 😂

Is it okay to use regular milk without any consendend milk or can you use another brand of consendend milk
Thanks 💯

Can you use evaporated milk instead of the regular or should it just be normal milk?

What if I dont have condensed milk? Is the sugar enough or will it taste bland ??
You can skip the condensed milk and add sugar hun :)
Do we need the lechera?
Is there a way i can make it without the lechera?

My granddaughter is only 11 and she made it and it was delicious and I don't really eat arroz con leche

High ma’am, late repsonse! But can you tell me what temperature you had it at at those different times. High/low/medium?
Medium I think that’s what she said in the beginning.
It looks simple it’s like making horchata
Yes :)
What type of rice did you use? Long grain, extra long grain, or medium?
Long grain
When you say simmer do you leave it in medium high or the lowest heat?
Medium heat
Just quick tip everyone’s stove top is different when I left it on medium heat I noticed it was sort of boiling more than simmering I turned it down a little more and it turned out fine. Just stay watching it I advise really.

How much rice do you put 1 or 2 cups of rice ?
I think she said 2 at the beginning!
I'm here after watching "Worth it" episode 😂
How much lechera should I add. I have a small bottle not can😂
Can you add 2 cups of milk instead of the water and boil the cinnamon sticks in the milk instead of water?
Yes
Now is not the time thank you so much ❤️
Now is not the time I tried making it on my stove and it’s those fire kind and the rice didn’t cook all the way... do you have any tips on how to get the rice soft?
@@Ashley-bm3dt maybe add more milk and stir it to make sure there's no rice stuck to the bottom then let is simmer for 10 minutes

so my rice is kinda hard , what do i do ? do i wait a little longer ?
Same here!!! I added a little more milk because the rice was still hard
