How to set up your first garden journal is something I wanted to do in the spring to track my garden progress. But how to track your garden process is really dependant on how you set up your garden, where you live and what plants you are growing.
When making a garden journal I thought it would be best to wait a season to see what I really wanted to track vs. setting up a garden journal based on someone else’s needs. After all I am here to provide you tip on how to start a garden journal not the end all be on garden tracking. So if this is your first time using a garden planner or doing a gardening planner set up, that right there would be my first tip. See what you like and adjust based on your needs like I chat about in this how to bullet journal video.
How I use my gardening planner is also a little different because I am mid-way through the season. I don’t think that there is anything I would have done differently when starting a garden journal because I gave myself time to learn the needs that I have when it comes to how to track your garden information.
Is this a complete guide to setting up garden trackers… maybe not… but does it show different garden trackers for beginners and give inspiration to making a garden journal of your own… HELL YES!!
Hopefully this journal with me gardening addition shows you a different way to use a bullet journal aside from planning out your weekly, daily or monthly tasks. If you have any questions on what should go in a garden planner, or how I created my gardening journal let me know in the comments below!

I have LOVED starting my first garden this year and am excited to start tracking the progress!! Any tips for a garden newbie?? 🍀🍀
🍃 Love your garden planner
This is a great layout, TFS :)
So great! I made myself a perpetual garden planner from a regular weekly/monthly planner on sale this summer. It had a pretty botanical look. All I did was white out all the year and days, leaving only the numerical dates. Then I could see every month and write out key plantings, frost dates, projects… also having the daily pages to write lots of notes while in the garden. This way over a few years I can build up a record of things like when the first fig ripened, mistakes, successes, and improvements. I’m loving having this record.
That is such a smart idea taking a dated planner and adding in what you do/notice in the garden. I definitely want to track something like that next year because I for sure missed out on the small things this year by starting the planner late!! Hopefully I can get a good record going like you have planned too 🥰🥰
I am very inspired by your garden journal. I grew a little last year and I am taking on more this year. This will help me a lot. Thanks.
Very good info! Thank you!
THESE ARE SUCH GREAT IDEAS 😍 I have zero knowledge for gardening but this one was definitely a fun video to watch. I really love the alternating tabs, such a nice and subtle way to add contrast 🌱
Awe thanks Nadia!! That was literally me a few months ago and then found this channel Acre Homestead and have been obsessed with her garden and food videos... now I am full in garden making 🥰🥰
All such great ideas, I do want to start a veg garden at some point in the future so this is really useful! 💗
Yay I'm glad you found this helpful!! I have loved starting a garden and would 100% recommend it to anyone 🥰🥰 The spreads are for sure beginner friendly so if you do decide to start one hopefully this is a good starting place!!
I love this, need to redo my garden planner, that has fallen asleep since autumn. Btw. I really love your channel, just found you and there're so much helpful videos about the BuJo. Really like your spreads a lot, was surprised, that you have so few subscribers. All the best for you for 2023!
Yay I’m so glad you found the channel and liked watching it too!! I need to get on creating my 2023 garden planner soon to be prepped for planting in march… still trying to figure out what to plant because I want to try everything 😂😂 What is a must have for your garden??
@@createwithcait Tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, salat, egg plant, melons (honeydew and water) and herbs. If I don't have those, I'm missing a lot.The rest are just nice to have, but I'm best at planting the above veggies. We won't plan chilies and pepper anymore. Just takes to much time and was too spicy last year for us.
I think melons would be so much fun to grow I just wouldn’t have enough space in the backyard for them!! I will say that I wish I did better with my herbs last year (they were a bit of a fail) because I loved making salsa from the tomatoes that grew
