Thank you for that side by side. I kept feeling that EA WRC had almost no lateral suspension movement. And this side by side by basically confirmed it. Look at how dynamic the chassis movement is in WRCG compared to EA WRC. It feels like the car's suspension is summarized into a single central point, rather than 4 points with one at each wheel.

Bro not even close? I disagree. Wrc 10 and g are better. But not that that much. The stages, handling, fwd and rwd cars, graphics, yeah. But some of these not by much. Dirt rally 2 would be the best if not having unrealistic bumpy tracks on all the stages. But man g and 10 I liked so much I bought again on switch. Will buy again on pc and ps5 to Try the triggers

Unbelievable how bad is ea wrc. Probably the worst rally game ever released…

Not a single "SIM-Racing" Content creator from the "big ones" mentioned in their videos the bad FFB, wheel delay behaviour. All these "tests" are bought. Seems as this is a much worse experience in contrast to the "happy youtubers" with their paid content.

Yeah I hear you. I had about 300 hours in DR2.0 before I started wanting more, tried WRC9 and was blown away. People were always dogging on KT too for the handling model but I was like psshhh dude the tarmac plus the stages plus the weightiness of the cars just did it for me. WRC10 was eh content wise but Generations was really the final send off "best mix" of the games, graphics polished almost all the stages and cars tossed in. btw it really does look better than EA WRC, and more importantly RUNS better too. Switiching to UE was a disaster for codies and I wonder if EA had a hand in it.

    • @donaldcrunk5983

EA always has a hand in it. Go look up their history with Criterion games and the renderware engine. Very interesting and relevant to what they are doing to codemasters.

It is not on UE5, still using UE4 (a version of .2xxx). Explaining the "current gen" look. Also means a lot of things can be done tweaking the engine on your end side of things to make it look the best for your config.

As for graphics, when you look to Mexico, in wrc generations it looks amazing. In ea wrc it looks really previous Gen.
The tarmac physics are still better in wrc generations.
For the content I really like ea wrc but in some stages I looks a lot worse than wrc generations. That's a shame.
Compare to dirt rally 2.0, ea wrc is a downgrade in difficulty, but that's OK, a lot more people will enjoy it.
For me personal, I could of been a bit more difficult / challenging.

I was wondering how on earth Codemasters would even match the incredible work (in terms of stages) Kylotonn did before them. Sounds like they failed on that front. That studio really has shown Codies up in a few areas. It's amazing when you think how average Kylotonn's early efforts were. You'd never even mention them in relation to Dirt Rally.

@@frogboyx1Gamingbro. Dirt rally 2.0 destroys all. Only problem the stages are not as good as generations. Also too many pumps, almost every 20 feet. Not all rally stages are Kenya or mexico right? Generations and wrc 10 the stages are just so good. 10 ots nice to drive the last of the non hybrids, also the hyundai i20 old gen wrc2 is a nice contrast to the new i20. The 3rd person camera in the kt games are also so good. Even the sound is a close 2nd to d 2.0. Glad to see I am not the only one. Bought the game twice. Have 9 and 10 on switch too. Soo good. Test drive solar crown better not suck. Also if they make a v rally game with generations physics I would do a somersault. 😂

As soon as i got to my very 1st stage on EAs game i thought ok, it looks just like dirt rally which has that grainy, dusk, yellowish look to it and then after playing my 1st stage for about 5min i was like oooh yep it definitely feels like dirt rally with the very boring looking stages full of trees everywhere and thats it, also the graphics are definitely from last gen no question about that but, i did like the handling and the sounds which is very important in a rally game.

WRC 10 👉🏻 if you are struggling with the car control with a a controller , try this ⚙️ controller settings, select sensitivity to 0 left & right - before start a race after select your car and track , go car setup and …Suspensions - Springs to 27500 - Shock absorber compression 3000 - Shock absorber rebound 2500 - Ground clearance 28 - Camber and Anti-roll bar to Zero 0 . Every time the co-pilot call a third gear pull the breaks 1.5 seconds before enter the curve , 4 gear 1 second , all if you are 5gear or above in speed… also in high speed you can pull 1 second break in the ramp before a jam in high speed , helps not loose control after the jump , you have to save the settings for each car you drive before the race , after I found this settings , WRC 10 became so pleasant to play , it works better in WRC 2 and WRC cars and some extra cars , the short ones ..easier to spin ..Subaru and célica works great as well .

1:00 jeeze. i always thought the wrc games had bad graphics, i supose they had 4.5 years to catch up to dirt rally 2.0's standard. but in this side by side view generations looks really freaking good. which honestly surprised me. i still dont like its physics, but the graphics can 'sometimes' look great. as shown in that clip.

    • @wotever99ninynine
      @wotever99ninynine Před 8 měsíci +1

the road surface is more detailed, not just textures. but physically. plus it has undulations, ditches and banks on the side etc. actually, to be fair dirt rally 2.0 had most of that most of the time too. ea sports wrc does not. the roads are flat (instead of convex for drainage etc like irl). there are no drains/ ditches on the sides, no banks. the road has no detail. it is just flat and boring and easy.
they really dropped the ball on this one. i think it must have been rushed by ea. i expected better out of codemasters.

The stages in EA WRC just feel… monotonous…. In WRCG the stages feel like they’re actually set in fleshed out location.
The ironic thing here is that the cars in WRCG behave like the cars in the original Dirty Rally (2015 ); they’re like bucking broncos which you have to tame… the cars in EA WRC have pretty much no pitch or roll… and feel really “numb” to drive…

When the news came out about the license going over to the same creators that did, in my opinion, garbage rally games I was so sad. Year by year KT delivered a game better then the last. With Generations as the f*cking King. I was at the Swedish Rally in Umeå last year, and playing it right now in career mode and it's exactly like the real thing. The graphics, the sounds, the physics is the best that's ever been developed. And the stages is total domination. Dirt 2.0 doesn't deserve to be in the same room. Tired of all the fanboys of the Dirt games, never uninstalled a car game so fast in my life.

I did not pay full price for WRC23 and still feel somewhat disappointed. The sound is the only thing I can say are leaps above WRCGen, but CM failed to add any dirt, mud or snow accumulation to the vehicles, which is so important for immersion. You race a 15mi stage in the gravel/wet and the vehicle looks like I just went to the corner store.

I played the 5 hour trial that came with the EA membership and still felt cheated-- game's a mess-- looks like a PS2 era game with upscaled textures. Cars are modelled as a plan with single-point suspension and no body roll or inertia. Hugely disappointed.

WRC 23 is pretty fun...but honestly... the trees look HORRIBLE as well as most other of the track details. The Cars look very good...but 90 percent of the game is the tracks. and they look kinda bad. I'm playing on a fully maxxed out 4090 too so it's not that.

As a guy who think crisp graphics and authentic lighting and colors are very important for making games feel authentic, i thoroughly dislike the new graphics. Its like they are not even trying to create an authentic experience. Reshade can of course help with the actual lighting and colors, but the crisp details are just not there anymore, so i dont even feel tempted to buy EA WRC. Hopefully the old devs will make a new rally game.

U must have not played dirt rally 2.0. Ea wrc the cars are too grippy. The fwd and rwd cars are horrible compared to generations and 10. The stages have no character, most of them narrow haha. The graphics are worse. But with updates and a little bit closer handling to dirt 2.0 and better tracks it will be a close second to Dr 2. For now generations is overall the kind. Dr2 would be if all the tracks weren't so rally Kenya like bumpy. Dr2 then generations and 10, ea wrc after a few updates will be interesting. Might be the new 2nd best. Sorry bud we all disagree with u.

after watching gameplay and trailers my thoughts were: this looks even more boring than previous kt wrc games. dirt ralliy games were much more fun and challenging.
and unfortunately, a lot of that is still my opinion. ea sports wrc fixed the tarmac, it now has the correct grip. but it is a bit too safe and predictable, along with ruining the gravel by adding too much grip. it was lready near perfect in dirt rally 2.0.
then on top of that there is the steering wheel lag, the stutters, the bad performance, the lazy opimization, the far too late co driver calls etc etc.

I actually did a one on one comparison on PS5 last night and WRC looks significantly better. BUT…..not better than DIRT Rally 2.0!!!!!
WRC is apperently next gen only. It looks worse than a previous incarnation on lesser hardware on a previous generation though.
Dirt Rally 2.0 to Dirt Rally was even a large graphical step forward in the same generation. This is a five year development cycle and new, much improved hardware and it looks inferior in many ways.
What bothers me even more is that I find the track layouts uninspiring, barren, boring and generic.
For instance Monte Carlo is almost a.i. generated like it is done with the trackbuilder in Dirt5. The uphill righthand corners keep repeating themselves in exactly the same way. It is like driving the same road for 17 km’s. Trackside details, elevation (like the Turkey track in Kileton’s efforts) etc. are all substantially lesser implemented than in Generations and even Codemasters’ own Dirt Rally 2.0.

I also remember when I first started playing WRC it was immediately fun. I feel like the difference between both of these games is that WRC has more realistic driving, Dirt Rally just makes the driving unnecessarily hard and it’s more unrealistic because of that. Wrc Generations is the most realistic rally game out there you just have to firstly go to throttle sensitivity and change it to 4 this will give you proper progressive input in other words 100% throttle not just 50% , then you need to set up correct realistic force feedback and then set the cars up for the various surfaces you will then have the best rally game out there !! The new EA WRC game is simply broken and should never have released a supposedly Next gen Triple AAA title in the state that it is !! There is just so much wrong with it even after the 1.3 patch it still has many technical flaws !! What on earth were you thinking of codemasters you really have let everyone down !! CZcamsrs should stop trying to defend ea or codemasters by saying oh it will get better or i can put up with this or that and pretend its fun you are just in denial !! and it doesnt help the gaming community as it just sends the wrong message to EA that it is acceptable to release a game take your money for this !! I so wanted this new EA WRC Game to be as good if not better than WRC Generations i truly did but i am just so very very disappointed !!

I am not sure but, these are my conclusions:
    - Graphics: WRC Generations done well the car and track details in the 3 weather conditions but somethings like burnt rubber and color were unnecessary as well as unrealistic; EA WRC has realistic graphics, I just think they could have done better the rain stage; despite that, nailed the stages design according to real life.
    - Sounds: EA Sports WRC (obviously)
    - Car Chase Cam: EA Sports WRC
    - Cockpit Cam: EA Sports WRC
    - Car Damage: Tie (except for some details of the moment on the impact of WRC Generations)
    - EXTRA: Gameplay: EA Sports WRC
My opinions is that, WRC Generations is very good game, but EA Sports WRC with things such as great handling, graphics, modes plus the whole cars of the WRC History will bring many more people to the world of rally...
