***Warning*** I'm not a coin collector or expert therefore I may (OK I will) say stupid stuff regarding coins đ
Thanks for the caveat, but as a 50 year collector ... phew!
Imagine watching someone ripping ooen a sealed case of Kenner Star Wars figures on card, and holding it over their head to dump them on the ground to âtake a look at whatâs in this boxâđ§đ«đ€đ€đ€đđ€Ș
@@mackeymintle66 On the bright side I didn't dump it in a Coinstar machine đ
@@SargeRedsVintageToys hah!
So true! Iâm just having a laugh with you. Itâs impossible to know about EVERYTHING and itâs value. We all have to focus on what we love the most.
I do often mosey by an occupied coinstar machine to chat with the coin dumper...
Im always surprised that people donât realize that pre 1965 dimes and quarters are silver!
Keep up the adventures!
@@mackeymintle66 Seeing him banging those Brilliant Uncirculated '64s was giving me anxiety too
Those 1964 and before quarters and dimes are 90% silver. You could sell them or check cull prices on to AMPEX. Before 1983 pennies are copper and should be kept for the long term. Great find!
I tHink this coin collection paid for the house content. Now, when you sell the toys that will be pure profit. Good luck and God bless you and fam.
Thank you Gena
All that silver is so great, I love silver halves/quarters/dollars. So awesome.
You sir have found retirementđ€đ€đ€đ€đ€.blessings
This is better than the Oak Island show! WOW! What was up with those nickles with the BB eyes?
Those were crazy!
Coinflation is a website that gives you the melt value of silver coins. They even have a calculator where you put in the # of certain coins you have and gives you the value most of those are worth more than their melt though. Nice find.
The way you were excited about finding the Star Wars and GI Joe toys, Iâm excited about this coin find!
This is so cool! This series needs to be a show on HGTV. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm confident your subscriptions will increase as a result of this effort!
Thank you, we appreciate the kind words!
Mannnn!! You are going to be pleasantly surprised when you realize how much money you have in coins. Congrats on the find of a lifetime!! Going to be hard to top this one!
Thanks, def gonna be a hard one to top.
Rob finds treasure on CZcams for sure ..he will be very fair and honest
I'd love to look over every single one of those coins.
Just by watching your videos makes me want to set up a trust to make sure my collections, and property goes to family. Wow!!
Itâs not uncommon, can easily add it as a section of a living trust.
However family of who sold the contents of the house....soooooooo đ€·ââïž
sounds like the owner of the house was the kid or something because he found some old photos and was giving them back to the owner because they were pictures of there ancestors
Wow, you probably have a small fortune there!! I donât know anything about coins either but obviously that guy did. Jackpot! Canât wait to hear what the end result is. Love the channel!
Thanks, glad you are enjoying the channel.
Definitely should have an appraiser look through the whole hoard. Even if you have to pay them. It would be well worth the money. It's like having a sports card graded which could mean the difference between a $2 card and a $2,000 card.
Amazing find! Congrats on an epic coin lot! Would kill to find that.
Sweet finds. Videos like this keep me looking!!!! Congratulations
Thanks, keep hunting, its out there!
the old Rx tubes everyone perfect for coins, everyone used those in the 80s........haha change holder with a button!!!! buttons everywhere
Wow could even pay for the whole cost of the house you spent ya could possibly get back that money spent in the coins alone please let us know in the future what the total value was and yes this would be my heaven find lol
That small box you sad that look like change yes it is new change but it is is worth more because it is all in good condition
the big Sliver certificate from 1923 is called a Horse Blanket because people said they were as big as a horse Blanket
You might want to wear cloth gloves when handling these. I don't know much about coins, but i know that the oils from your hands can potentially hurt the value of some of the more valuable, rare coins out there.
Agreed. Not so much for the circulated coins but absolutely for the brilliant uncirculated coins.
wow simply wow.....lots of research ahead but worth it
the epic treasure!!! awesome
If you weren't a few states away I'd give you a hand sorting and checking them! I'd love to spend some spare time going through those coins.
Please please.....take your time with that collection, don't get cheated
Thanks Jason, I will be going through it slowly and probably get an appraisal from a coin place on it.
contact the RobFindsTreasure guy so we can see this collection in depth. whole lotta coin content here
I'll second that it would be awesome to see robfindstreasure explore this collection
This is absolutely fascinating! I would love to go through these bins!
Would definitely have a paper money and coin appraiser go through it all and see if you have anything rare and have it graded. Those Morgans could be big money.
Agreed, I'm def going to have it looked at by someone wiser than me in the realm of coins.
Love the videos
Thanks Debi
You have lots of collectibles there you need to check all the prices specially on all the older coins
was waiting for this I saw when he wedged the door open on that drawer, You should have some white cotton gloves you can buy really cheap when you're handling silver and gold coins especially if there's some valuable or mint coins in there. Just my $0.02 (pardon the pun) and I would never sell your coins to somebody who also appraises them, I would get the appraisal even if I have to pay for it because sometimes they could lowball you and you should get a second appraisal. If you put them on your website let us know. Call it the '80s toy house hoard and thatâll make them sound even more valuable LOL
lol, love the pun. Yep, I plan on paying for an independent appraisal on the collection.
Donât break rolls. Un-searched rolls worth more. Donât remove coins from blue Whitman holders. Box and seal it all up in a bag to stop the smell to retain value. Touch less worth more.
Dumb question, how do you know whats in it if you don't take them out? Is it common just to trust what the rolls say in the coin world? Thanks!
@@SargeRedsVintageToys I just googled âsearched vs unsearched rollsâ and look at the top search result is... same dealer: czcams.com/video/fyKm7wdTKTE/video.html
@@SargeRedsVintageToys I think your house clean out video provided adequate provenance on the source material to the point that a reputable dealer will want to help you. Pick someone that is an ANA member to do business with that values their online reputation. IMO Daniel is that. Good luck! And spend your valuable time on what you love, rather than trying to become a coin expert. coin-dealer-directory.money.org
You did well I'm pretty shure a couple grand just in silver spot not including the premium on the barber and peace and Morgan's but only on the better one's the rest you'll just get spot but today spot is 27 dollars for every 1.40 in silver coins
id start with all the 1900 Morgans for sure
Silver notes (blue) red notes are good. On the dollar bills, I think I may have seen a Star on them. Which doesn't necessarily mean they're valuable, but worth checking for sure. I think there is a web site that you can check them. Hope is helps a little. Im not an expert either lol.
Thanks for the info Robert. I def have a lot of learning to do on this one.
Learning is knowledge right! I havent had a chance to watch all of the videos from your 80's house score. Did you say what you paid for the contents? I'm always curious, because people always say there aren't any deals like this anymore & then there's a video like your ;-)
yea they were called star notes because of the star on them and they were used to replace misprinted notes
You might have just upended the market value of collectible coins with this find.
The foreign large silver coin with Two dolphins are an danish 2 kronerđ
Very interesting video! I would suggest to contact a coin shop to first see how to clean and disinfect these coins safely, then once clean, sort and value them with price guides, which will take a long time, but you will get the most money out of it.
That's the plan, some of the coins look to be in very nice shape
I'm not sure if someone else already posted about the "Ten Sen" military Currency but a quick google search came up with this: "Allied , 10 , issued in postwar occupied Japan, acquired by Captain James (Jim) Edward Kirkebo, who served in the United States from 1940-1945, including combat duty with the Thunderbolt Division in Europe from December 1944-May 1945" And the first few that popped up were selling for $50 to $100 a piece.
Thanks CG!
@@SargeRedsVintageToys No problem!
The JFK's half's I'd just sort the 1964(90%silver) 1965-70(40% silver) not much numismatic value unless it is gem++.
The franklin half's are all 90% silver and need to be uncirculated for a premium.
Mercury dimes-key dates 1916d 1921 and 1921d
Washington quarters- look for 1932d and s, they are the only key dates.
Peace dollars -1921 is a good date, I think I saw one in the book. 1934s and 1928 are the other key dates.
Morgan dollars have a bunch of key dates (coinflation is a good site to look up what you have).
Even without any key dates you thousands of dollars in that hoard, nice score!
Just fyi....the 1964 kennedy halfs are 90%silver and the 1965 through 1970 are 40% silver, 1964 and older quarters, half dollars and dimes are 90% silver, and some nickels during ww2 are 40% silver.....check yours mint marks and dates
Kennedy Half Dollars from 1965-1970 are 40% silver, so still worth something.
For holy grails with the pennies you're looking for a 1943 copper penny or a 1944 steel A 1937 3- legged buffalo nickel is a rarity too But I'm sure whoever collected this knew of these and I doubt they'd be in there. Might be something for some kids to do-- give them a list of rare pennies and see what they find over the weekend. Also, with the older silver coins look for a CC mint mark, those were usually produced in lower quantities, but were done around the 1880-1890 range. The 10 Sen near the beginning of the video was issued to US troops in Japan for occupation after WWII. An old co-worker of mine once told me of something he called "fiat currency" or "script" which was US money printed and given to troops to spend in foreign countries. He was a Vietnam vet and said they were issued script there, it had something to do with US policy about spending real US currency in a country we were at war with or something. I never really followed up on the history after he told me the story.
That's a really awesome collection, I love old coins regardless of condition, especially old foreign coins and it looks like you had some interesting ones in there. Thanks for posting this.
Cool, good to know, hopefully we find one!
Morgan's.....ohhh.
Please don't take to a pawn shop
Nope, I won't be doing that đ
and the ones with Lady Liberty standing are call Standing Liberty
What happened to the homeowner that you bought the house with all that in it?
One more comment before I have to stop watching lol.....those "new" 1964 quarters that were in the paper could potentially be around $40 each in that condition, be careful to not beat them up
Sooooooo, I shouldn't have used them in a vending machine for a Coke lol. I put them back in the tube, but the paper was still damp so I had to get it out of the roll.
@@SargeRedsVintageToys nooooooo, lol totally understandable with the nasty paper though
Take that to a trust worthy coin shop like you found the collection get it appraised a tube of the silver half's go for around 200
Yeah, I def need to have it appraised
the sleeve or morgan silver dollars $$$$
Nice findđ fingerprint on the uncirculated ruins the value, so be carefullđ
The square penny could be a defective manufactured coin and could be worth something
The 50 cent pieces 64& older are silver, 65 -69 are 1/2 silver.
Quarters , & dimes 64 & older are silver. DO NOT NOT NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN ANY OF THE COINS!!!
Cleaning coins DESTROYS the value.
Great Score!!!
Thanks for the info
@@SargeRedsVintageToys you might have to clean the goop off some of them. Just be sure not to use anything that will abrade, or scratch the coins. Just water and a soft cloth if you have to remove bio hazard crud. But I'd be super careful on anything that is in BU condition (brilliant uncirculated, yaknow...the shinies)
Face value $1,200 weight in silver value about $15,000 said value of of total worth in auction maybe $20,000 for the first box? Maybe both?
I have to go through and inventory it, I'm curious to see face value vs actual vale.
The JFK can be silver if dated pre 1964
1959 is the first year Lincon Memorial
You got probably about $10,000 worth of coins right there. LOL if you have any Morgan dollars that have CC in the back you could probably sell those for $1,000 each.
Those penny rolls can go for around $40 or more on Ebay if you dont open them.
Like I said should try to do a collaboration with ROB FINDS TREASURES on CZcams.
Also find a reputable coin dealer and DO NOT clean any of the coins.
Good luck and such a cool find!
I'll have to reach out to him, sounds like he knows coins
Yes because you could potentially have some valuable coins that you may not know of and would be cool to see what you may have by someone more knowledgeable in coins and currency.
Check out his channel if you haven't all ready. There are quite a few coin youtubers but I think he would be a great fit for you and your channel.
So did you get any value on all the money you found?
I sorted out the silver but haven't had much time to do anything with most of it. If anyone wants to go through a bunch of penny rolls I have em đ
Easily over 20K, silver is high right now!
If you want to sell any thing let me know if you have any problems knowing what something is worth i will try to help you
Thanks Bill, appreciate it.
How much was the total? $64,000
All that money looks like more toy money to get more goodies
lol, very true.
43 should be steel because they used the copper for making ammunition so if you had a 43 Copper you hit the jack pot .
Go to coin tracker web site. They have every American coin
The JFK halves are still 40% silver if they are 1965-1970 and the unknown half dollars are barber halves
Cool, thanks for the info.
I bet you make your money back on just that one dresser worth of coins
Dimes, quarters and halfâs 1964 and earlier are 90% silver. JFK Halves from 1965-1969 are 40% silver. Buffalo nickels are not silver. Nickels issued during WWII have some silver - these nickels have their mint Mark over Monticello so easily identifiable. If a 1943 cent was stamped on any planchette that was not steel worth big money. Easy way to check is will a magnet. If it sticks it is steel and if it does not stick then your rich. Nice haul
Thanks for the info!
The Silver certifficates if the serial numbers in consecutive order they are worth more on ebay in lots then they are singularly.
I'll drop anything I know as I can
For the regular bills watch for a Star * at the end of the serial number those are replacement bills and worth a bit more. Also watch for serial numbers that read the same front to back or have multiple of the same number
the circa 1900 Halves are Barber halves
1964 JFK Halves are Silver
1943 Lincoln cents are Zinc not steel
Ones in the plastic from Denver and Philadelphia Mints is a Mint set
64 was last Silver for US
You can rinse coins. But don't scrub them and don't use anything corrosive
If Erie wasn't so far from Detroit I'd come help you out
Watch for WW2 era Nickels with the Mint Mark on the back and those are 40% silver, regular silver coins are 80%
On the Kennedy half's 1964 are 90% from 1965 to 70 are 40% only on the Kennedy half's
1964 and older half quarters and dimes are 90% silver. 1965 to 1972 halfs are 40% silver
1.83 per silver dime even if they're not special
Awesome video. The best so far of the 80ÂŽs house. The music.. really ugly :)
This person must have worked at a bank or had a teller friend that collected for them. Thatâs why there are so many bank coin envelopes in there. You can soak the coins in hot water and maybe some Dawn, just donât rub them. Coin collectors donât like them to be rubbed .
I never thought of that, it makes cents (see what I did there đ)
Wow, Awesome!đ But u sound annoyed.
It was cold and the aroma of musty old basement was heavy in the air, whats not to love đ I wasn't trying to sound annoyed sorry lol
If you find a 1943 copper penny in good shape you could probably sell it for 1.2 million. đ
Wouldn't that be a nice find lol
1964 quarters were worth more in the paper cylinder. Probably just lost a fair bit in collector value..
Sadly It was wet and had mold on it.
Any coin before 64 other than a nickel is pure 99% silver
Too bad that original bank roll of quarters was torn up
Yeah, they were damp as well
Coin guys will watch people search half dollars for 6 hours at a time... take your time and document EVERYTHING. Dates.. mints... the coin gurus WILL show up.
I'm going to go through them in better detail, I even bought cloth gloves as suggested.
I cringed through this đŹđŹđŹ

there are people who collect tickets from ball games
love coins not a real fan of toys
you take some coins nobody wants that look old and you put them in toys you have in the store on random spots (nose bleed) then people will check toy in shop see the old coin think they struck gold and overpay for the toy thinking they ripping you off so they the bad guy lol our you just trade them in there a gazillion old coins all over the world we been using coins for a long time and all they do is collect dust until another crazy person takes them looks at them a minute and puts them away for another 20 years Cash in move on ill say
