*UPDATE* Unfortunately, this house was completely destroyed by a fire suspected by vandalism on February 2, 2016. Here is a link to a news article regarding the fire: bit.ly/2DZRdJt
For those who would like to avoid the dead animal scene, it is at timeline 7:48-7:58. There is also a dead mouse at timeline 20:43 if you would rather avoid that as well.
HISTORY:
An elderly lady, Fern, owned this house before she passed away. According to the Ancestry website, she died at the age of 90-years-old in 1999. She married her husband in 1934 in Quebec, Canada before eventually relocating to this beautiful home in Southern Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband and the estate remained solely in her name.
While exploring, I noticed there were some hanging calendars dated from August 2000 as well as a couple of phone books dated from 2002-2003. These later dates along with the cat cremation certificate dated 2002 suggests someone had stayed there for a few years after her passing, possibly family members. A note on the fridge along with a card I found suggests a father and daughter who were supposed to be taking care of the cats.
I found information on the County's website from 2012 stating that they are under negotiations with this estate, There are two wills in place. One is to the county and one to the family. This is in dispute. The county is taking care of it for now until it gets settled.
At this point, going by these dates, I'm thinking it has been abandoned for around 10 years.
*Addendum: The unmarked cop was real. The unmarked cars in this province have markings but they are faded, so only really seen up close. He was pulling people over ticketing them for speeding when I arrived, and had all of the proper computer and lighting equipment they carry inside and outside of their cars.
Credit: Spectral Review contacted me asking me to explore this house before providing me the location. I came to learn later that it was originally discovered and explored several times by explorer, Freaktography. Here is a link to his video exploration on this house: âą He Explored Inside The...

I get that the house is gone now, but who else would nust love to clean it up and make it nice again? Just me?
Erika Lahti no me too . Iâll be the new cat lady. Lol
I'm interested in who bought it
If I was you I would buy it then I would clean it and live in it.
Jam By the way, what state is the place located?
Me
That cat must of waited and cried for her for weeks and starving. Poor baby.
That isn't assuring... But I believe that that cat isn't one of hers... I mean, cats sometimes go somewhere peaceful to die.
âąThe lady wouldn't like it if her cats were left behind
âąThe house has a smell of cats and is a good environment for cats.
âąI'm just hoping that it is what I'm saying and I hope that it keeps your mind at peace. đ
âąHave a nice day! đ
@JaY ZeE why is death funny to you?
I've seen photos from earlier explores of this house, and its a raccoon not a cat, which is still sad but don't feel too bad as it wasn't one of the lady's pets. I'm sure whoever took over the house when the lady died took good care of the cats that were left behind (I read somewhere that she had 14!!)
@@splashthefly9039 Yup that house was a real good place for cats, they must have enjoyed it a lot. All the windows, the big patio and the big yard around the house only for them. Must have been a heaven for cats. Wonder what happened to this lady.
@JaY ZeE ... SeE yOu In HeLl
I love how caring a modest you are with everything in the house, but my nosy ass wouldve been looking through stuff to try and figure out how she died.
Liberty same lol đ
Same
Possibly cigarettes
Assisted dying for the terminally ill book might have been a clue.... she was either on the way out or she took care of it herself
@CozmoKat you have a point this place might be already gone today anyways
This popped up so late for me who is watching in 2020?
I am and I love cats it's so sad that people have to go in and trash abandoned homes and now I have read that it was burned it down what a waste
Akira Gibbs me!
@@charlottejones3839 what a waste. the place was so nice
March 12, 2020.
No idea how I got here, but I'm strangely not mad about it.
Yep
All things aside, the lady had MAJOR taste in almost all aspects of life
As a medium, this woman was murdered & burred around the area đ„șđđđ
This seems like some realistic haunted house horror game, complete with clues to the life of the person who lived there an an ominous "dead cats catch no rats" right next to a dead cat. Freaky.
Shadeyshade I keep thinking of Resident Evil 7 especially the first person view đđđ
Where was the dead cat
@Brooks Ranch
At about 7:45
Shadeyshade this actually reminded me a phone game i was playing a few years ago called Dark Meadow! Such a scary game but beautiful setting!
I think i saw a dead rat in the tub lol
May she, her husband and her cats rest in peace.
This house doesnât feel creepy like most other places. It feels well loved, and almost like you could just step back into the past when Mrs. Fern was still living happily with her 14 cats. Iâm so saddened by the news of its burning. This house is beautiful and the property must hold incredibly warm and loving memories. Rest well, Mrs. Fern. I can see that you truly loved each of your cats, and I hope theyâre all cuddling with you wherever you are.
Obviously she died and had no family. A woman that loved her cats that much would of NEVER left them behind to die if she had a choice đ
she had family, a father and a daughter whom were supposed to be taking care of the cats. obviously one of them died, dunno about the others
She was waaaay too old to have had a father still alive
Or any animal for matter of a fact
Towon Apparently that âcatâ was a raccoon.
I read a comment years ago about this place and that some people believe that body is of a Fisher which sets me more at ease. The skull doesn't really resemble a cats and I've been there myself to see it closer
Ugh of course vandals would burn down such a beautiful home. I'd kill to have one just like that.
Yup, ppl are assholes
Same.
i used to go here all the time growing up. always dreamed of bringing this beautiful home back to life
The natural light is amazing itâs such a beautiful home itâs a shame
YT-OG since 2008 Iâd kill who ever vandalises
Cats was her family and she loved flower and nature, painting, arts. She was also very practical. What a nice and unique house. Thank you for sharing.
This is still my favorite abandoned house shown in YT. Something so sad, yet so endearing and warm in it. Its beautiful and tragic.
I feel the same way! I e never gotten this house out of my mind. It felt perfect.
Agreed this and the glassbank penthouse stayed in my head, both quite eccentric, both sadly gone.
How unfortunate there are people with NO respect! This house was obviously built with love and creativity by a woman who loved critters and the great out of doors. what a waste!
Theres probably kittens somewhere in there still alive
@@alizaschofield1503 that house was abandoned in 2000 and burned down in 2016. Nothing lives there.
are we not going to talk about how steady she holds the camera? :II
Yeah I noticed it's pretty good most explorers annoy me by swinging/turning or shaking their camera too much.
Also I really like your profile picture
She probably has a camera stabilizer
High frame rate and stabilizers help a lot!! I have shaky hands and once I bumped the frame rate of my stabilizer up, it got super smooth
chantissel um yes mam
It was stabilizer ... dumb fool stupid get techno check
She was extremely wealthy, good taste for the house design, decorations and all the expensive equipment for the felines, cremation.... I barely can buy litter for my kitten...
Yeah, too bad copper thieves and vandals have no respect...
This is so sad and depressing... when we die we leave all this stuff behind for vandals to destroy, things we cherished and loved get vandalized or relatives start fighting over and steal...
Well, let's be happy we won't be around to see it...
Exactly why you should live your life with very little. None of the crap you own is coming with you.
This place must have been so beautiful with the orchards, the cats and the solarium when it was well maintained. Truly this woman was a cat lover because this house is cat paradise !
Cindy Lynn Gagnon isnât it!? đ„°đ I loved the yellow lily wallpaper đ„° I wouldâve loved to have been there when it was new
so true. And so sad for the poor cat.
This house was absolutely gorgeous. It's such a shame that it's gone. You can tell that Fern took great pride in the home.
There actually looks to be another dead animal- possibly a tan/ yellowish colored cat in the basement "crawl space" area at 24:41; the camera passes over rather quickly.
I thought so too, as far as graffiti goes it was quite nice. And on the small tv it actually made me giggle a bit.
Ugh living here mustâve been a dream with all those windows and foliage and greenery! I love a good sunroom đ
Iâm still so upset that this burned down. People suck :(
Ardie McLelland Do you know how it burned down?
Same!! :(((((
I envy the people who got to explore it before it disappeared!
why did it burn down?
Sophia Shed in the description it has a link to the article :)
maddy knight oh ok thanks
The place must've been beautiful during the day with all the light coming in but imagine it during the night tho.
My thought exactly!!đłđ±đŹđŹ
While this house is EXACTLY what I would picture my perfect dream house to look like, Iâd probably spend hundreds of dollars for thick blackout curtains so I could feel safe at night. Iâd never be able to sleep in there without any curtains or anything blocking the view to inside the house. Even if itâs in the middle of no where, which would actually make me want the curtains more.
Big dogs as well
@@kayleethacker1085 The big church style windows would have had automatic blinds on them at one point or possibly full wall curtains. they were likely stolen for scrap. 12:34 this is the remote control for the curtains.
homes like this sitting empty while i struggle to have a place to live doesn't seem right
Same here. Taking care of my Mom, we're both disabled, but struggling for a place to live. Living in Flint, MI doesn't help, either. Good luck to you!
Not sure if the Laws are the same in Canada but have you ever heard of Adverse Possession?
I just checked and Canada does have that law as well as the U.S.
*****â without breaking into a home (if window open, door unlocked, even a broken window, ect.)IF it's vacant you can move into it and live there PROVIDING you visibly improve the property so as neighbors can see you are BETTERING the property. This Law was created just for that purpose, so homes are put to good use and not left to rot away abandoned. You have to do your homework tho and check tax or city records to make sure it's abandoned. All states require you live on the property a certain amount of years AND pay the taxes befor it's legally yours. It cannot be a vacant lot. It has to have a home or home type of building on it. Look it up on Google. It's very interesting! Adverse Possession.....ï»ż
Thanks . going to look into it . We have a few up here in New Hampshire.
Would be amazing to see an abandoned house that hasnât been vandalized by ignorant human beings.
i'll never understand why some people have to tare up everything
Maybe because some people have done the same to their own lives, and continue to do so to the world around them.
Yeah it just doesn't
Add up
Vandals are the worst!
Agreed, I live next to an old abandoned home but yet I respect it because it is a time capsule just large and people should really respect things that aren't theirs bc either way if they are abandoned or not they were owned at some point in time
So sad seeing a home that I'm sure was once filled with love, memories and cats reduced to just vandalised "stuff" I hope the lady and her cats are at peace
Ellen T agreed! I felt so much emotion from the house, itâs decorated and furnished for her cats and herself only, no man, no family, no children. independent style of fruits, plants, prints and cats! and the oasis which hopefully she spent the end of her life in,
Me too đ
Vandalism is fun when done right.
I can only imagine what this home looked like in its prime. You show a great deal of respect and awe. Thank you for showing us this stunning home. Subscribed~
Heather Atkins ..exactly what I was thinking.. and going to say!
**Warning.. accidental rambling/novel** đŁ
When I was a teenager.. I hiked EVERYWHERE looking for old foundations, ect.. (I loved to look around and collected very old bottles). Then one afternoon.. after about 3yrs of looking every.. single..day when the seasons were right, I stumbled upon old foundations, and even a few farm houses standing! I was so excited! I had told a few people.. I mean, as a teen.. this was my dream come true.. everything untouched!
BUT.. 2 weeks later I went to park at the end of the road/circle.. ready to hike down.. (there was a trail you could barely see at the end of this road.. and it was quite a hike from there).. I was soo excited.. wouldâve been only my 3rd time down THAT day, because of the rain. Anyway.. what did I see..?? Yellow plastic ties and ropes and ribbons hanging everywhere and it was blocked off.
Apparently one of the adults that heard me called.. whoever.. and it became an official archeological dig/site.. in just 2 weeks.
That wouldâve been fine with me.. but the team KNEW who I was.. and wouldnât even let me help.. or just watch?!!
I didnât even get credit for finding the place.. which.. I really donât care about. It was just.. such a strong passion I had.. and to FINALLY find something.. untouched.. well? Letâs jus say I was more than heartbroken I wasnât even allowed to âwatchâ. đ
I live in a small town in Connecticut.. I knew everything used to be farming land, basically. But thatâs just the problem. I live in a SMALL TOWN. I told myself to keep my mouth shut next time.. but I never did find a ânext timeâ.. not to the extent I did that day.
Apparently it used to be a long road.. then forgotten and lost (dirt roads back then) .. our towns were founded in the mid 1600âs... and earlier.
Turns out, again.. was a long, main road, with houses, and even some kind of small store.
Exciting.. but then heartbreaking. Everything was kept so hush hush for years.
Didnât mean to write so much.. watching this gave me the same excitement and experience that I loved!
P.S. I DID get a passion for abandoned houses, but my VERY first one..(that you could sort of see from a main road, but across a LOT of marshland).. also took about 30 minutes of driving back roads just to find it.. but.. there it was! I went in, my only concern, at the time..was to be careful about rotting woodwork and flooring. It was left.. just as it was. No vandalism, beds, still made perfectly, one with a doll on the pillow. Dressers with expensive figurines still ontop and in there place. I didnât get to the downstairs yet.. I opened the green front door.. and you could of course go left or right.. but you were greeted with stairs right in front of you.. (thatâs why I went upstairs first). I was trying to date when someone last lived there.. I had one more bedroom to go.. which, I assumed would be the master.
Suddenly, I smelled the unmistakable smell of FRESH CIGARETTE SMOKE! đ°.. I asked.. âis anyone here??â (Which obviously I loudly made my presence known when I FIRST walked in). I was still on the top floor, but the last bedroom I was heading towards.. there was a little hallway with a banister overlooking the stairs I had just come up. No one answered. The bedroom was a few feet down this little hallway, and THEN around a left CORNER.
I waited.. my excitement made me want to explore further. âIt was just a whiff of smoke, and then gone. Maybe I was mistaken?â I told myself.
Then.. I DEFINITELY SMELLED FRESH CIGARETTE SMOKE.. but I wasnât scared.. (17 yr old me đ). I was talking king out loud to myself.. saying, âyyyeah, THATS a cigarette..ect.. who the hell would be in here smoking?â
Suddenly.. in a deep, deep, growled voice I heard.. âMe. Iâm smokingâ.. still didnât see him ..... but youâd THINK I wouldâve been like, đ±aaahhhhh!!!
Again, 17yrs old. My guard went way up.. but I went halfway down the stairs, and asked, âIâm sorry, do you live here..?? I thought it was abandoned, and wanted to look around?â (I know.. đ€ŠđŒââïž) Still didnât see him.. but he kindly responded, âNo, I donât. But go ahead.. look around. Oh, on your way out.. knock on the abandoned car window, and say hi to Charlie if you want?â
3..2..1.. đ± aaauuhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
đ .. yes.. I was stupid. I knew to be careful of rotting wood and floors, ect. And I knew at night, kids might be at an abandoned place trashing it.. (but this house looked REALLY nice). It was in the middle of the afternoon.. and I NEVER crossed my mind.. at 17.. and I guess the towns I grew up.. idk.. was just stupid about thinking about squatters or homeless people.
Anyway.. once I was in MY car, (and yes, as I flew by the abandoned car I kicked it, kept running and shouted, âHi Charlie! Gotta go! đ€Ł).. I raced outa there!
It didnât hit me until I was all the home all the BAD things that couldâve happened.
Soo, needless to say.. even though I STILL have a passion for, and would love to check out abandoned houses.. THAT one, was my first.. AND last.. so far!
Now Iâm too scared?! Even if I bring someone with me.. THEY end up getting scared last minute and wonât go in đ€š
Iâm jealous of this girl. I so wish I could be with her checking out these houses.
My goddd! The masonry work ALONE cost a fortune! It makes me sad to see beautiful homes.. or ANY abandoned home for that matter.
Iâm so happy she respects the previous owner, and her house.
K.. that was waaay too long đ„”đ
@@Skellabunny420 Not to long at all. Thank you for sharing your story. I'd love to explore also. But no one I know will go.

Such a beautiful home .wouldnât it have been wonderful to meet her and see the house when she lived there with her beloved cats and kittens ? This makes me rather sad to see a life that USED to be .. once upon a time .......
Does anyone else want to go to the house just to clean it? I REALLY want to just be there for a week cleaning.

I think she chose fake plants over real because cats tend to mess plants up lol, also some plants can be poisonous to them
Right! My cat always chew on the leaves, I've changed it to fake plants, but still....
Oh yeah. I have my orchids on floating shelves for that reason.
AND the fact that she was in her 90's. A person isnt able bodied at that age to keep up with a lot.
That's what I thought
@@Shellross65 That's what I said!
This makes me so incredibly sad. All the things that were so precious to her just strewn about and abandoned. Really makes you think about preparing for the future.

aj71 Santiago are you serious?!?! That breaks my heart! Whatâs wrong with people ?!
aj71 Santiago wow. Now thatâs heartbreaking.
aj71 Santiago Oh shoot really
At the time of this video it would cost too much to repair
People in general don't appreciate older architecture.
That was a custom built home, no question.
For possibly being abandoned in 2000 (the papers say) the house is in actually really good condition.

I just watched another explorer in this same home, and I learned nothing at all about the person who lived here. I appreciate that you take the time to honor and respect the human beings who lived a life in these homes. I feel sadness for her, and anger at the morons who have no respect for anyone else's property, or life. Thank you for honoring and respecting this woman.
MegaGinia I agree
MegaGinia I disagree. That wasn't some toy paint mess, that Graf had skills.

You said it ALL for me ... a truly thoughtful, respectful video here ... yes, sadly these days we are surrounded by MORONS who have no respect, thought, kindness or self worth all they know is to smash things, would love to do the same to there possessions then see how they feel

It almost makes me think if given time would she have decorated the entire house in flowers. My guess is that her patio Greenhouse at one time was probably magnificent. I get the feeling that she was rather eccentric.
i notice ppl are assuming the cat might of been one of hers, but since the door on the side is already opened im sure it was probably just a stray that found a place to die. if this woman died in late 90's ear.y 200's the decomposition would have been harsher. its a little heartbreaking to force a narrative that sad when it probably isnt even that deep
Theres more of a chance the cat was the owners because the home seems to have been abandoned in the 2000s which isn't a long time from when the video was uploaded the decomposition would have been bad but close to what it was in the home and if the cat did wander through the door it would have been able to leave unless it died from old age. I think theres more of a chance that the cat was the owner's but there is a chance it was a stray.
I'm sure animal control came in to get the cats. They just missed one. So sad.
I might be a sick fuck but I would love to know where there is a dead cat? đ
Titin Kustinah 7:48
It is quite possible that a feral, sick cat found it's way in and died there.
For some reason, this really breaks my heart. The remnants of a once happy life that ended suddenly are left for all of us to see. I feel for this lady. She must've been a kind person who loved her home and her cats. In a way, the fact that it all burned down is sort of appropriate. Maybe she wouldn't have wanted us to see her personal life laid out like this. Regardless, what I have seen here I can never forget.
"i cant get over how gorgeous this place is" me too sis me too
That house is STUNNINNG. Literally thatâs my dream house, with the complete wrap around glass enclosed porch and the tall open ceilings and the large windows... đđ©đ©đđđ LITERALLY MY DREAM HOUSE. This is the EXACT picture of what my dream house would look like. Especially because I loooove cats. And tbh, I think the green graffiti on that wall looked kinda dope. I didnât like any of the other graphic. But the green letters on the wall almost looked like a mural at first glance. Kinda gives it a modern/urban touch. I love this house so much. Incredibly beautiful. So much natural lighting, I love the windows. Absolutely stunning all around. Incredibly beautiful architecture and everything. Wish it was still there, absolutely breaks my heart.
That was a beautiful house minus the flower walls. Too bad some idiots burn it down. Would have been awesome to live there.

not all plants are toxic to cats?
I can just imagine Fern getting like 20 cat calendars every year for Christmas!
Off the bat, I love this video. Your voice is calming, you're not almost screaming about everything, you're not freaking out at the sight of a window and the way your record is beautiful. It's not rushed, you allow us time to see and take in everything. Thank you, I'm gonna subscribe đ
I saw a lot of medical supplies and dressing wrappers, she was sick , and the book "Final Exit" is all about how to commit suicide effectively and without pain.
Maybe the owner committed suicide
Carol Norton WOW
I saw all the medical supplies too. Those are dressing supplies so she clearly had a wound of some sort. Likely a pressure sore aka bed sore or maybe some sort of lymphedema. Both common among the elderly with poor mobility. Clearly she couldnât remove the used cat little but did her best to clean it for her kitties. Because of the dead cat Iâd expect she passed and one of her cats didnât make it. The family took the rest of the cats when they realized what happened.
Wow how fascinating but extremely tragic!!
Exactly. And thereâs a lot of Litter boxes piled up, pretty sure she had a hard time cleaning it so she would just put a new one when another is already full.
Seriously, I love the house layout, and itâs sad to see it in such a state.
Fern would be so horrified to see her beautiful home in such condition đ
I have 13 cats and also have a sun room that wraps around my house to keep the cats in. Iâm sure thatâs why she has the exterior sun room.
One possible reason for all the fake plants and flowers is that many flowers and plants are poisonous to cats and dogs as well as other animals. I hope the poor cat was a stray who lived there when the house was empty and passed peacefully in their sleep :-(
Ebenezer Marley i hope so too but it mightve been one of her cats and it makes me sad to see tht that cat was left behind and not cared for and it probably starved itself to death. Before i watched this video i was worried that there would b many dead cats or even cats tht were still alive somehow but it was only one dead cat. Still sad to see and its a gorgeous house
I love your doggy!
@@LegendsofSolComics Looked like one of the cats in her photos. She passed away and then her family took care of the house and cats so it's sad to know she loved her cats so much and then her family left one to die.
I feel sad about her dead cat. That cat must be starving when the owner died.
Ebenezer Marley
- Wish we could say the same for all those poor chickens you ate :(
I feel like the sun room around the house was actually built for the cats. Cats love sunlight and looking out windows. If they were house cats, I could see her wanting to make the house more for them. We're in the process of turning our back porch into a sunroom/catio for our own cats.
I believe she truly cared for her cats. The cremation certificate was really sad. When you take your pet to be put to sleep, you can choose to leave their body with the vet for disposal, bring the body home for burial, arrange cremation with the vet, or bring the body home and arrange cremation with a place that offers pet cremation services. Either way, cremation costs money. The cat medicine in the fridge for cats. I think they received vet care for the most part, at least I really hope they did.
The fake flowers could have been because cats are known to eat and destroy real flowers, as well as a lot of plants are poisonous to cats.
The note on the fridge about remembering to handle the kittens so many times a day is really sad too. I hope whoever was left in charge of them actually took good care of them, but I don't know... Someone wanted to make sure the kittens were being socialized.
I hate that the house was burned down... The photos, the certificate, possibly the ashes of Cody the cat, the memories, it's awful that they're lost now. The house, especially! It was gorgeous!
There's so many homeless families who could have lived here.
I seen another dead cat it was in the basement when she was moving around with the flash light and cam
@@ask8imu where is it?
WhiteC74 24:41
Bet the dead cat was in a good hiding spot scared as hell when the rest were caught.......then it came out too late and no food nothing. That would be my guess
I also thought maybe one of the cats was pregnant at some time and the family members who should pick them up didn't know there were more cats than last time they visited the lady and also didn't see the other one. It's still really sad.
That's what I thought too. It ran and hid (as cats do) and the family couldn't spend anymore time looking.
Was thinking the same thing.
It may have gotten in when vandals broke in and couldnt get out.
It's a shame this house burned down. I'd die for a house like this!
It burned down??
janelle s if you died, you wouldnât need a house... đ€

Her down there in that basement gave me anxiety, I kept waiting on her to walk around a corner and find someone standing there menacingly
To think this woman spent her life, working, saving for nice furniture to have it left there. It's sad, her possessions and belongings just abandoned
Also is it just me or does anyone else hear purring?
Won't that happen to us all one day? Work all our lives for what we want in life but will have to leave it all behind once we die. What are we to do, bury it with us when we go?
Yes! I hear the purring too. ...
Maybe the lady was rich by his family !
That poor cat I can just imagine the cat with all of the care and everything that it needed and then being left behind and feeling SO incredibly vulnerable. Poor little babies đđđ
No they where sent to a pet shop that dead thing was a racoon
I have huge respect for you. You take time to appreciate the building and you donât rummage through somebody elseâs belongings; whether theyâve claimed them or whether theyâre not around to claim them. I also appreciate the fact that you donât destroy things, and you just come in peace. So thank you for not being like other people who go to abandoned buildings. :)
Update: I got further into the video & I also appreciate the fact that you didnât rummage through her papers and legal documents as well.

To hell to those ppl who burned and vandalized the house man đđ it was so beautiful. Like have someone vandalize and burn yours. Those rude ppl have no hearts I swear âč
I am a crazy cat lady, have 9 cats and would love this house for my cats!
-- Hmm, the owner of this house was a cat lady too. If you donât like these types of people then why comment negative un-needed comments?
-- You...
Beautiful house, love the design. This woman was definitely not poor.
Iâm sure that in the prime of this home those cats were taken very great care of
I think so too. And I believe that the cat who died there isn't a cat of the family. Maybe just a cat that went there to die (cats do that, they move somewhere peaceful).
Why I think that? Well, the family stayed for the cats I believe. And cats lived there (so their smell stayed there).
As many times as I've watched this video, on the tv there's no comments or anything visible. Thus I had no idea that this place has been permanently lost.. I'm crying now knowing this as I always loved the cat house. It had such a neat shape.. I'd love to have saved it. RIP Cat house
Beautiful house with such great natural lighting! Itâs a shame that it burned down due to vandalism đ but even the Apple trees and other plants that surround the house are gorgeous đž
The wrap around glass porch is gorgeous. The whole house is beautiful. I would buy it.
Wow, what a shame someone burned this beautiful property down.
Wide Awake I bet that house was so pretty back then, I would of loved to see it at that time with the cats

The Rat Emperor where at bro

I hear it too
ME TOO
Itâs like all throughout the video bruh itâs freaky
She must've had money to have such a custom built home. The Glass enclosure around the entire house to enjoy the Canadian Winters and still be outside. I just dont understand why the house wasnt left to someone. I noticed in the earlier comments the house has since burned. I'm sure someone was happy to get that land.
Ok you can take this house đ
Thank you for your work - I watched this video back in 2014 while viewing other videos you have made. Glad that you captured it before it really got destroyed. I think there was a later video and the house was really torn up. Sad people can't leave things preserved. Seems like her family took care of it for a while then maybe something tragic happened when they could not logistically or economically afford it. Sad to see someone torched it. History preserved here by your early video.
A few years back, my exâs sister was moving out of her house. She had a cat that her daughters father had given to their daughter. She either couldnât bring a pet with her to her new apartment or she didnât want to, and she told us her plan was to leave the cat at the old
house and that it would die eventually. It was still technically a kitten, and I just couldnât believe it. I ended up having to take the cat so it didnât die of abandonment.
I would say thats animal abuse, but its much worse than that. Did you report her?
What kind of sick psychopathic monster?!!?! You better have reported her or youre no better than her! Fucking parasite! Hope she rots in the depths of hell...i wish her nothing but misery and suffering!
Sorta the same story I had a neighbor ended up moving and only being able to take two dogs to the new house so they left a 2 year old dog I had known sense a puppy outside to fend for himself. My copper turns 9 years old this year hasnât spent one night by himself sense the day they left!
Caitlyn Marie who ever thatâs person was could die in a hole that it very disrespectful I appreciate what you did and how did the cat do btw
Y'all are so gullible lmao
She must of spent loads on window cleaner
i used to be one it would have took me ages to do all them windows haha
And you about what you spend your times in this life???
After all these years, this is still my favorite!
I got on Goolge Earth and looked and apparently something was settled because a NEW house is built there, not completed yet, but has a 3 car garage. That photo of the fire was horrendous and so sad.
That's Canada for you. Probably owned by someone who is an official for the local government or a friend of an official.
My new CZcams obsession....watching people go through abandoned houses. Loved the layout of this house beautifully done.
Mary Trosclair mine too... I watching it everyday... đđ
That house is gorgeous the backyard is gorgeous too wow. You can tell she took really good care of her home. Even the cats scratch postvwas fancy.. Just look like trash people trashed it. I wish I could know who built this home would love to see the blueprint for it and get a copy. This is gorgeous
ladydede88 I hear you on the blueprint thing. If someone had this house rebuilt since it burned down, it would be gorgeous especially if left the same way it was built no modernized stuff other than a few things.
It might be possible. You should have enough info about the place from the comments/the description of video to get an address/dates and look online to see if you can find blueprints. Or whatever government building or something that might have that info archived. County records or something.
I used to live next to an abandon house because the lady who used to live there passed away. There were Many things in there, and I always thought of wanting to go inside but never did. Unfortunately they destroyed the house.
I first saw this video a few years ago. The other day suddenly Fern popped into my head and I legit cried and mourned her a bit! It was weird. This was a beautiful house, so sad it got burned down :'(
I heard purring throughout the entire video ever since you stepped foot inside the building. Is it just me?
Me too
It's the locusts outside idiots.
I thought it was too, but disappointingly I do believe itâs the camera focusing- thatâs why the camera movement is so smooth.
Just You
That's bugs
This is simultaneously the strangest and coolest house I've ever seen in my life
Nice Toy Story profile picture
House must of truly been stunning when the lady of the house still lived there .
I am saddened to read this house burned down several years ago because at the time of filming the house was not beyond restoration and would of made a lovely home for someone .
Thank you for sharing this .
I wonder who decided on "dead cats catch no rats", because I've seen that sprayed in multiple abandoned houses over dead animals.
This house is literally my dream home. It's just so beautiful and bright, wish that people hadn't vandalize.
/ cozy / also its antique.. so beautiful.. wish someone would have fixed it up..
The dead cat may have been a stray that went in there and died. Not necessarily ladyâs cat.
Dee M or the cat just couldnât manage to get it and starved
I think you're right and a stray got in. When cats know they're sick they often take themselves off and hide somewhere.
Good thinking people
Thank you, everyone's been talking about it being her cat, but there's a ton of strays everywhere
LindsAy with Attitude we don't know for sure.
One of the first abandoned videos I ever watched! This inspired me to start exploring too! You make quality vdeos, I like your calm style. Sad what ended up happening to this house, but you got to be one of the first there!
Fern was born Flora Fern Noak Miller in Vermont in 1909. She had three siblings, sister Grace and brothers Herbert and Irving. In 1934, the Miller family moved to Quebec. In 1914, she married Simon Ernest McCullough.
Fern relocated to this property around 1970 to spend her retirement operating a hobby farm, where she raised horses, ducks and geese. In her later years, she had this second home constructed on the property, so as not to be snowed in during winter months. She gave the original house, which is deeper on the property, to a young couple who would assist in maintaining the deteriorating property.
Fern passed away in 1999 at 90 years of age.
Two differing wills existed, one naming the surviving family as beneficiaries, the other naming Conservation Halton as beneficiary. The property dispute is still ongoing and Conservation Halton is watching and maintaining the property, sort of.
She loved and lived with 14 cats đ
Edit-As of February 2nd 2016 the house was set a blaze in what authorities believe was arson due to vandalism. Rip fern đą
You did such a beautiful job in filming this. I so admire the respect that you have shown regarding this home, the owner and her personal belongings. I am now one of your subscribers!
This is so sad. That house had some great bones and really cute little antique things. It makes me upset that someone would burn it down. I hope they find them.
Bones?
@@kellyheaton4190 Bones meaning structure. Something you can build up from. In reference to buildings. In reference to this home there was very little visible structural damage. Ie. No water damage, rot, roof collapse, extensive vandalism and so on. As far as was shown in this video. Strong bones = solid structure (solid framework). Worth repairing. Hope this helps you understand. I'm sorry I missed your comment earlier. I would of told you this sooner. Big thanks to everyone who knew this but didn't bother to explain the meaning to our younger generations. You once again blew it. Why? How is someone to learn this. If you won't tell them. Not explained in the dictionary without knowing the meaning to begin with I checked. Once again sorry you didn't get any response earlier and to those who could of informed you. Thanks for not. If you need to know what that means just ask. But if you know bones you should know not.
Someone burned it down? After this video?
Someone burned it down 3 years ago..
In the court battle that was on going, could have been either side hired someone(an aronist) to burn it down. Ppl are malicious like that in court battles
Such an amazing haus! Itâs so sad some vandals disrespected it& burned it down- wouldâve been like you guys- rehab and live- Hope Miss Fern RIP
Even abandonded this home has so much personality. You get a feel for the kind of person(and animals) that once lived there, and it seems like it was such a happy home. It may sound strange, but i get kind of a sad, nostalgic feeling watching this :( so sad to see such a beautiful home in ruins
