This is something I struggle with. It is a challenge for me to make sure my paragraphs are less than a page long. Having only one or two lines is way beyond my capability at this time. I for one think that five lines is nothing, and reading a paragraph that long (short) is no big deal.

research is def one approach. I tend to follow the Andrew Lloyd Webber philosophy: stay away from too much outside influence (I mean, you have to outside influence to learn to write, or compose, but there comes a point when you can turn away from the outside influence and get some inside influence), and if you 100% express your own individuality and your own message (or a higher message), or your own music, it's guaranteed to be unique. Taking this path means doing research of a different kind, though -- truly discovering what it is you're meant to do.

You explained how to write a blog post really well an I have to say thank you, I learnt alot.
A great, very polite, reminder that people have almost no attention span these days. Therefore, if you are not writing an academic blog, keep every point short, sweet, engaging, captivating, and short. In fact, keep the whole thing short. Which reminds me that I came across a blog template for Wordpress that's designed to split even a short blog (say, 500 words) into several pages with a continue reading link at the bottom of all but the last page. That way, you hoodwink people into thinking it's a blog that's even shorter than short. ye gads!

Even though I had two blogs (The Old Movie House was on Blogger, and my other, Abitsa, was on WordPress - both discontinued for personal reasons) they were for simply playing about. This next website will be on Google Sites and is yet untitled. I'm going to try my hand at affiliate marketing. I hope to create a website Amazon will approve of, so I can become an Amazon affiliate in short order. I'm working on refining what my niche is, I was also watching another blog of yours where you offered some very wise advice - Just be yourself. I'm a senior, 67, and if I can make a few bucks with Amazon, that would be great. If I don't, I'll cut them loose. They are not the only game in town, and high time they realized that. I just wanted to say thank you.

I love the tips and organizational order on how to create a blog post. Do you have any recommendations on how long or short a post should be? You mentioned small paragraphs, so big chunks of words don't scare people away, but what about total length in general? If things are nicely spaced out, will length still affect whether or not people stay to read it? Or is that something personal we just need to feel out with our audience over time?
Hey there! I know you made this comment a while ago, but it is generally recommended that posts be at least 800 words. The length helps with SEO and indexing. Hope that helps!
