I sent some of your videos to my almost 86 yr old mother. I won't take her out because of Covid. She and I love TS shopping and go quite often. I told her she could watch and get her "fix".
I love how you put similar pieces back together when you're in the Goodwill.
I do the same...🤣🤣🤣
I love that too!
Me too
Yes, I think that's so cute and nice of her!
Light In The Attic is a classic in our home. 10 years later we are still reading the poems with our kids.
Now my grandkids have outgrown his books. Sad.
My sister bought a set of Shel Silverstein books for my girls when they were little. Love them!
A Light In The Attic has been loved for years. As a librarian it was one book that you could never have enough copies of
I was shouting at the screen the first time you walked past the eldreth santa! So glad you spotted it the second sweep.
Oh oh I was wondering why Jocelyn picked up the Santa. I couldn’t hear what she said. Always learning something new.
Shel Silverstein wrote several songs that were hits for musicians. A Boy Named Sue (Johnny Cash), Cover of the Rolling Stone (Dr. Hook) and others.
Wow, that’s so cool to know. “The Giving Tree,” was always my favorite of his.
My Shel Silverstein album was stolen. My favorite songs were "You're Always Welcome at Our House," "Beans Taste Fine", and "Liz."
Shel Silverstein! I loved those books as a kid. “Where the Sidewalk Ends” and “A Light in the Attic” were some of my favorite books. I loved the poem about the babysitter who was confused and sat on the baby!
You probably do the best voice over Ive heard on youtube but I really love your in store videos. I love all the noises, just not the same as a voiceover. Of course I will watch either way!
I have been watching your videos for 7 hours straight 🤣 now I don't know what to do with my life. Do I make dinner or do I go to the thrift store! Lol you must have so much fun!!
Always go to the thrift store. Pick up a pizza on the way home. 😂
I really prefer the voice over. It's less distracting and gives you the opportunity to reflect on purchases.
I enjoy it more as well
The house is a limited print. Low numbers are usually better
I wish my Goodwill did color isles. Everything is just shoved together.
I agree. Mine doesn't have but one section half the size of hers. All piled together. Lamps sitting in with it all. No discounts or sale's what so ever. I so want to visit a larger well organized Goodwill.
I cheered out loud when you picked up the Santa. I seen it the first time you walked down the isle. I tried to tell you to pick it up but you know how you just ignore us 😂. Really thought i did see it , i didn’t realize it was Eldreth I just knew I loved it. Really been loving the lives .✌️❤️
I literally said out loud “ I can’t believe she didn’t pick that up”. The first time you went past it.
Love Shel read many of his poems to my students during 31 yr. teaching career.
I prefer your shopping videos to your others. So excited for this one! Good stuff.
I would love a tutorial video on EAPG ❤️I have a heck of a time telling it from the other types of glass.
Those advertising plastic car mugs made me smile. I have one purchased here in western Canada in the 70s with a local stereo and photo shop name and logo stamped on it in red lettering, and it has a red lid and base. I used it for camping back then when our kids were young. I dug it out to look at the bottom.. It was made by Whirley Industries Inc. In Warren, PA., USA. Small world. 😊 🌍
Hi, I really like your voice overs....they are wonderful...thanks so much for all your great videos.....
We have that wooden tray, serve all my husband's meals on it. He loves it. ❤️
So glad you picked up that Santa around 18:56. I actually screamed No when you past it on your first trip around. Lol
I was surprised she passed the Santa first round too! lol
DLJfromPA Me too!
Ditto
Scribble over the sharpie marker with a white board marker. Rub it off. It activates something in the sharpie marker and will take it off most ceramic, porcelain, or sealed pottery.
Who scribbles on the makers mark? The person donating it Goodwill? Just curious if you knew.
There's also something from Meleluca called Sol U Mel. It takes sharpie off of photographs. Good for when you find something autographed to "someone".
Yes, it works.
Exwxwxxeeee Cox
I like the voice overs as you are able to impart more information and knowledge. And I have learned much from you!
Glad you took Father Christmas..You passed him before😃 I figured it was a nice piece..
Yeah so happy she picked it up.
I'm so glad she went back for him!
I know you aren't picking up art at the moment, but the needlepoint at :57 was so pretty - I like collecting those types of needle work.
That's the one!
Me too! I would have grabbed it!
Love the bright colorful candlesticks w/flowers...so glad you found the 2nd one- now to wait to see them in your shop.
Little secret about sharpies. Take single alcohol wipes with you, and a black sharpie. Wipe off the their sharpie, check the maker of the product, re-sharpie once you're finished.
Cara Krzyzanowski I don’t understand why they black out the maker’s mark anyway? What’s the point in hiding that information?
At our Goodwill, they catch you wiping anything off, or trying to change a tag, they ask you to leave. Same with local thrift stores here.
I LOVE your videos. I have learned so much about what is collectable and why. You are such a gem!
I’m surprised you didn’t put the Pfaltzgraff mugs together on the shelf - you always put friends back together 🙂
Hi, you stick the mug to your dashboard.
I love when you rearrange the shelves. 😆
I'm loving the baskets and the brown pot. Thanks for sharing Jocelyn.
I love Goodwill and love watching your videos. I recently found a 75 year old Lenox vase. I was ecstatic.
I also read and loved that book. Told my daughter about it and she said oh I read that in school. Great find!
I started watching your videos about a month ago. Love your enthusiasm!
I am so glad you know about this stuff--the knick knacks look like stuff one would get at the Dollar Tree to me but I love watching your channel.
Since you mentioned in a previous video how you just walk past closed boxes I notice how often you do it 😆💀 I’m thinking to myself ... check the box please! check the box please! lol I love watching you pick. It will has helped me up my game. So much fun!! ❤️
I’m glad you snagged SANTA, you must have heard us groaning when you passed by him the first go around! ✌🏼❤️
Love the blue vase!!
I think the heart was a bread baking stone that you heat up in the oven while baking your cresent rolls and then your place at the bottom of your bread basket under a dishtowel to keep the buns warm during holiday dinners. They are great invention.
I remember back when I started going to the Goodwills (GW), about 15 years ago, and the shelves that you are checking out now where you are, was the way the GW's had their stuff crowded all over. In the last three years they have been remodeling the stores to look more like retail stores. Less things on shelves, color coordinated end cap displays, better arranged items on the shelves and it really takes away from the fun of finding things that will surprise you, instead of seeing them all at once.
I thought that Santa looked old. I was thinking you better look at it. So glad u went around again. Its super cute. I'm learning so much about what to sales, for resell. Love your videos
Thanks for sharing and caring! Stay Safe!
I think its rather interesting what other ppl pick up as thrift stores. Im into boho/retro and crafts so any different baskets or embroidery, cool pottery or items i can repaint to make look better is what i prefer. I have a friend that resells and she picks up any farmhouse/grandma chic items. Granny's house decor is making a comeback lol
Went shopping with my sister today. It was SO freaking hot. Always think of you when shopping second hand. I'm always second glancing at beautiful art glass and adorable figurines.😄
@15:18, The Maple Donuts mug......You stick the base in your car, and then twist out the coffee mug when you need to fill it or wash it. It was essentially the first "travel mug" attempt before cup holders in cars.
I love coockyjars!
The clearsection, my favorite spot.
That bee mug is very cute.
I m happy you bought those 70 childrenpaintings. Memories!
I love Shel Silverstein books too. I have the whole collection and thrifted most. Great find!
Thank you so much Jocelyn I really really enjoyed your haul of very unusual things and I really hope you get good money for it all. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thieves are creatures of opportunity. Having your purse unzipped and open in your cart,, is giving them the perfect opportunity to steal from you. Especially when your back is turned and you are distracted. At times, they work in pairs to steal from you.
Goodwill is changing they seem to be holding the goodstuff to sell on their web site
Yeah and they go nutsy high on there.🙄
I noticed stuff on eBay as well. I'm a collector of vintage Disneyland, some of the pricing on eBay from goodwill is comical.
Goodwill has people watching these videos...hence the price increases and they are posting on ebay...smart on their part ...these videos killed it
Garage sales are better
Cute Bee 🐝 mug I would have bid on it. You should pick up a few modern pieces, when they are special like that. You have great taste and some of us do not mind modern pieces mixed in. Thanks again for another great video.
Wonder how she’d do with a second store featuring modern pieces. She certainly has an eye for it
1:43 I would probably have picked up all the horses things from that endcap shelf 😍
It’s funny how different out ideas are but I have learned so much. The trinket plate was my favorite.
You are not weird , you are unique and your own person. I respect that.i love your hair color.
I am a fan I really admire your passion in your business work and fun at the same time continue educating us you are our teacher thanks
Hello my friend, Glory your friend here from hot weather Arizona. (110°) 😊 I so always enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for showing and teaching about all items. I've got some items I'd like to sell but I don't know how. So by watching you I've learned. Maybe I'll learn more from you in due time my friend, thank you so much. Oh by the way, the flowered bright colored candle holders that are common , are from Mexico. Just for your info. Ok. Have a great rest of week. Stay safe my friend. Best for you and your loving family....🌸🌸🌸
I just love it when they are restocking the shelves. That's when I get my best pieces. It's very competitive at my local Goodwill, lots of resellers. And I also always check the clear closely because I found a Lalique vase mixed in one day. You just never know what may be hiding there.
Fingernail polish remover works great too.
I got really excited when you found the matching candle holder! 😆😂
That blue stretch glass looks pretty good. I'm going to give it a try, here in Europe. The market is pretty good. I can easily make 5 to 20 times the investment. Decent mcm pieces regularly. You should see the crystal I bought last week! Spectacular. I'm going to pay the rent with a shoebox with old crap. As a principle.
I noticed that through the shopping you had your purse open in your basket. Be careful a friend of mine got her wallet stolen from her purse when she step away.
I love your hair it is the best haircut and color I have seen on you!
The Maple Donuts mug looks like something my dad would have had stuck to the dashboard of his old VW van as he traveled around the country, lol. Brings back good memories. :)
Oh no! You walked by the Bridgewater pottery bowls with rosemary and sage on them!!!
So many baskets i love! Ive been trying to find a new one to collect my flowers with.
The vintage plastic coffee cup with the sticky base is so you can stick the base to your dashboard and slide the cup into the base so it wouldn't tip over. That's what we did before cup holders became standard in every car.
Omg....I saw your picture before starting the video. You have one of my favorite books.!
"It"s got a bird on it." GET IT! lol
I so look forward to the day I find a colored swung glass vase. I have found a tall swung CLEAR vase with cabbage rose base at Goodwill a while back.
The bee mug was soooo cute
Ooo your hair got longer, it looks really really good! Very nice!
Hello! I'm glad you finally picked up the Father Christmas figurine, nice piece! The Goodwill near me is not like yours. Have a great day and I'll be looking for tomorrows video.
Love to watch you shop. You share a lot of info about stuff. Also your hair looks really good. Great new do
The clay heart was a bread basket warmer at the beginning.
Hi,
@1:58 I think that is a cookie/treat jar for our fur-legged kids. 🐶😃
I love the cubby Santa. Good to see today.
Love your ColorStreet nails!!! Long Time No Sea....one of my favorites!
The little girl pictures are 70's, I had those in my bedroom in 77 when I was a teenager.
Yep! I said the exact same thing when i saw it! Too funny!
I had Holly Hobby ones in my bedroom when I was a little girl in the 70's. They remind of them so much!
Ahhh I was going to go there this morning ! Sad I didn’t make it and missed you!!
My favorite was the bee mug. Like the wood peg game with the men.
I learned to look for duplicate or matching items after watching your videos. Christmas were my latest success.
I'll probably go on Tuesday .I like going to see what new things they have
This was so much fun. Felt like I was there. Had back surgery so can’t walk right now and will have wait. Hope to do this again !
Omg that crocheted amigarumi duck was soooooo cute! 😍😍😍
14:44
20:37
At craft shows that easily would go for $50!
(If made well)
Right around the .57 mark on the shelf there’s a little wooden piece that all you can see it a peg and a hole. It’s to hang up and put a baseball bat, ball and cap. My FIL made one for our son who loved to play baseball. He loved it. Not sure it’s value for resale obviously but thought of your son. It’s really a fun piece. It’s just between the art piece you looked at and the basket
I literally just posted that book and the Missing piece on my Mercari yesterday.
That one piece of pottery you picked up did look similar to Monroe Salt Works, but I don't recall ever seeing a crimped edge like that on their pieces. The sticker on the bottom of those two advertising mugs I "think" is just to secure the holder in place maybe in the car.
I understand why you don't resell Dept 56 but I just started collecting this past Christmas and was so jealous you saw so much. My Goodwill hoards it until Christmas time so they can up charge on it.
I agree...I have a large collection of Dept 56 & new that makes for a fantastic holiday village display
That large painting looks like the dove that flew off the Arc looking for land!
Yesss! You’re right!
@@CrazyLampLady I was waiting for "its got a bird on it-ha.
The little dog was a treat jar. 🐕
The Avon bottles. I watched a lady just this week. The steam boat is worth $65 and a red bird or small tropical bird $30.
A majority of consumers don't understand or like complex works of art. The basic ness of the cloud painting is what makes it desirable.
Oooh, the ceramic/porcelain carousel horses at 1:45! They're probably not super collectable, but I have a couple and wouldn't mind getting a few more.
Uggghhhhhh that Culver plate at 4:00. NEEEEEEED
I actually screamed when I saw the mushroom piece!
That doggy with the lid is a treat cookie jar for dogs you put treats in it
I love your videos I have just recently started watching you guys and I love y’all 💖🌸💖
I loved that little oblong green and gold dish you picked up you seemed happy to have seen it who was it made by? It was a bit like art deco. Your hair by the way is great like that.
I just discovered you, Crazy Lamp Lady, I am binge watching your videos. It’s almost like walking along with you. Many of the pieces I spot, are the ones you pick up & put in your cart. That makes it even more interesting. Keep up the good work. I love the background guitar music, it’s great, not Loud like so many videos I try to watch.👍🏼
@5:04 there were 2 round zippered dish storage containers. I wonder if they had plates or bowls inside? My curiosity always gets me when I see those.
I noticed those too
I loved the wooden tray. I wish you would have picked it up. I would have definitely tried to get it when you listed it. 👀😔
Same!
You can get sharpie off by using an Expo marker. Just write over the sharpie and erase like normal.
