- My solar has been knocked out but I'm hanging in there. Usually, when things like this happen, good things are around the corner.
I'm waiting for the good thing LOLLLLL!
Anyway, check out my building in Ghana video.

Hi there!
My name is Dela and I moved to Ghana from the UK in 2014. I have been living here with my 4 and trying to build a house in Ghana while establishing the lifestyle that we have craved for years.
On this channel, I'll be showcasing what it's like to live in Ghana and be a part of the diaspora, building a house in Ghana, and some relationship talks too.
I hope you'll enjoy this channel. Don't forget to subscribe if you do!

Your explanation was "crystal clear". You weren't speaking English quickly. It was at a normal pace.
It’s sounds like your solar engineer didn’t advise and install a system that programs the charge controller to stop the battery from discharging when it gets to at particular voltage, for example 11.8v then a transfer switch kicks in either a generator or ECG to take over supply the load and also charge the battery at the same time. That system would have cost more for the transfer switch but at least your batteries would still be functioning. Sorry you’re going through this. That’s a negligent install in my opinion. Glad you’re going lithium ion phosphate. Best decision, but you still must get an inverter that has an internal auto transfer switch or buy a transfer switch $600 and have the system re-wired to accommodate same. Blessings my sister. Love you, you know that. Stay strong and keep up the good work🙏🏾❤️
You live and learn, good luck Dela
Don't mix the old gel battery with a new gel battery. The batteries need to be around the same age.
You also need a LVD(Low Voltage Disconnect) btw your batteries and inverter. Most inverters have it inbuilt. Lithium batteries can be deeply discharged but they too don't look like to be completely discharged to 0%. LVD is important
Yep definitely, never mix batteries
❤ I'm glad you can smile your test will be your testimony ❤
Lithium iron phosphate batteries are the best these days and last longer
But they are very expensive.
Excellent info. We are also thinking about it. Very helpful.
You may want to switch to lithium batteries. They are more durable than gel batteries. Besides, you can run them down to zero, but they can be recharged to 100 %
The inverter I have can’t take lithium, only gel
@@moretodela look at a charge controller and a good inverter. Then get lithium batteries, they last longer.
You may check out Victron Energy's Quattro. It is one of the best inverters available. You may need at least 5kv
This is very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Suprised people are still using gel batteries and these old inverters...prices have really come down...change ur system
Thanks for sharing!! Do you find that booking your apartments are hard??
Yep
The inverters they selling to you guys are not good inverters, now there are inverters that can run all appliances in your house, in this case you will not need ecg, you go on full solar.
Why gel batteries instead of lithium?
It’s a old system it can’t take lithium
Thank you for sharing. It is very helpful. I have a soul in my house too. It's good to know.
Broke? The streets are waiting for you 😂
I’m about to enter them because…🤣🤣🤣
