    Thank you JL for this tutorial and thanks for mentioning the magnet because I needed it and bought the magnet before replacing the spark plugs.

    Dude thanks for the comprehensive change Video. I came across one with some idiot just tossing plugs around and dropping them in saying they’re good without tightening them.

    Thanks. I realized I don't have a torque wrench. I have most tools I would ever need but I usually do wood work. Tired of over paying mechanics

    amazing amount of people will just drop the plugs into the head not realizing there offsetting the air gap or damage the plugs. well done

    Never drop the plugs into the chambers. You could damage the gap. Buy yourself a magnetic socket. Dielectric grease in the ends of the coils is also a good idea.

    Dumb question but what’s a good measure of torque if we don’t have a digital torque bar?

    On my Kia soul the acceleration decreased and when I got the codes read it said it was the glow plugs. Does that mean it needs spark plugs

    How do you know when it’s time to change the spark plugs

    • @JLsAutoSolution

      You can check your owner's manual. For the precise interval.

      @@JLsAutoSolution can bad spark plugs cause sudden loss of acceleration?

    Surprised you didn't use some never-seize on the new threads.....especially with an Aluminum head.....

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  Před 3 lety +3

      from personal experience, the only time there is an issue with spark plugs seizing, is when the torque specs are not followed. typically 15-20 ft/lbs is all that is required to torque spark plugs. when excessive torque is applied then typically there are issues.. and the opposite is true. under torqued and it will become loose.
      It is good practice to use some type of anti-seize on the plug threads, but then again I've changed plugs on vehicles with 200000km and have had the original plugs in them with no issues when removing the plugs and there was no anti- seize.
      It really depends on the quality of the materials used in casting the aluminum heads, and how the material will react with the material from the threaded portion on the sparkplug.
      thanks for watching. and the question

      I can’t get the coil out of cylinder 4, pipes are in the way and not enough clearance. I can’t see how it would have been done in the past with using excessive force to get it in and out on our Kia
