A lot of crying in the comment section. So this is basically the NR20OP MAX layout. I own both the max and the moon Max. The non max has a flawed design forcing user to mount the AlO Rad. at the bottom and only supported Air coolers upto 54mm with the tempered glass panel. i agree they should have released both the max layout and the non max layout as LIQUID & AIR variant
The Max is definitely better for a AIO build.

    2. Had minimal hardware restrictions
    3. Was relatively small / good looking

I'm surprised none of these companies have yet come out with a mini-ITX case that literally puts the terminals for a waterblocked GPU right in front of the CPU(parallel loop). 2 tubes from CPU GPU, 2 from GPU to two bulkhead connectors, external radiator/rad/pump with quick disconnects at the bulkhead connectors. They could sell a mini-itx case AND a framework for the rad/pump/res, solving their problem of "we don't sell enough stuff to make this affordable" as well as "maintaining a custom loop is hard".

It's possible they didn't do that because then they'd be competing directly with the SAMA IM-01, which is a larger (by about a liter, iirc?) NR200P clone with mATX support and has been available for two-ish years now. It's not perfect though, if you have a mATX mobo that's a bit on the tall side, the bottom I/O connectors will interfere with the bottom fans (they could've avoided this by offsetting the fan mounts) and the panel porosity is more restrictive compared to Cooler Master's.

I'm going to echo the same sentiment as everyone else. This is a fundamental step back in case design for Coolermaster. They got rid of the flexibility everyone loved about the case. It wasn't a standout in any other area. Now it's just more expensive, while having about as much flexibility as any other sff case and likely worse quality than something like a dan a4 h20.
One of the things cooler master could do is redesign the rear bracket to allow the GPU to sit higher. This might allow dual rad which would actually make for a decent showcase build with good temps.

    - no air cooler support
    - no side or bottom radiator mounting
    - slightly taller than 274 mm but still can't support a 240mm mAtx board

+ lower cost and sold PCIE 4.0 riser separately

I was pleased with the esthetics of my build when I used NR200P v1 with a glass panel and vertically mounted 3060ti. I've even used Bequite Pure Loop AIO, so the pump was not on the top of the circuit. But then I've decided to upgrade GPU, and I was able to fit it only horizontally, so it's not so sleek anymore.

All they had to do for the v2 was add USB C to the front IO, and it would have been fine. Hope they release an air cooler version closer to the original.

The nr200 v1 should just added a front fan with mesh panel so you can have it as an exhaust for the GPU that builds up heat... if you are using the Nr200 normal gpu straight into motherboard. that would have helped with cooling temps and I would have been able to cool both the CPU and GPU from the side and use top and front as exhaust.. At the moment my temps are good but on a risen 5900x and RX 7900xtx it does get hot.. I am forcing the temps to max 78degree cause I think the temps goes crazy when I am in Warzone..

So it's an NR200P Max but without the included PSU and 280mm AIO. As other commenters have said, this is a bit of a step backwards I think. One of the great things about the original NR200 was the versatility (including the ability to use big tower coolers). Of course, the NR200 has since been surpassed by other models like the Sama IM01 and Gamemax Spark that support mATX and ATX PSUs in a nearly identical footprint.

I was hoping coolermaster would update the NR200P MAX to accommodate the growing number of GPU's that exceed the length of the current one for gpu's. There's thousands of builds with Nvidia provided Founders editions of 4090's which are small compared to aftermarket versions which are the majority and also some 7900XTX cards although the AMD cards tend to fit much easier.

Ugh. Not a coincidence they had an entire display of liquid cooling components on the table behind you. I'm guessing the markup on liquid components is huge. Not to be mean, but how is NR200P V2 not a stripped out version of the NR200P Max with a bit more of height? What I liked about the previous version (and most people I presume), was that you had the versatility to do do both a water cooled or air cooled build. The good part of this new case now is the 140mm fan / 280mm aio support up top, the bracket not coming with lid and the type C port. Major down side is no horizontal GPU support and singular regular fan (having to use a scondary slim fan).
Hopefully they'll make a V2.1 correcting all this with user feedback.

Clearly the V2 hasn't fixed the bottom standard height fans. I rather have less room bottom clearance and have more room for taller fans.
The slim fans are basically a step above useless and don't move enough air and you often have overheating under stress. Even if they had to make the case 15-20 mm taller it would be a better overall solution.

    • @NoName-st6zc
      @NoName-st6zc Před 4 měsíci +1

From my experience slim 120mm fans also sound like complete ass if you're really into pleasantly sounding fans (like the NF-A12x25 or preferably T30 for example) and at the rate those slim fans are sounding acceptable, well, you might as well let one off in front of your case because that's probably getting more air into the case than those slim 120s at low speeds.

so instead of making a better version of the nr200p.. they've imposed hard restrictions... and basically telling builders, "you have to build this way"
the og version def had limitations... but it was possible to work around them. that is what made the og nr200p so versatile. this case, you can't even work around.
i haven't kept up with og nr200p case builders.. but i feel like Coolermaster could've just given it more height, updated front i/o... add that new mounting system at the top for aio cooling instead of the flimsy implementation the OG one has.. and kept mostly everything else the same... there's prob some other tweaks I don't know about (bc i don't keep up with builders) that CM could've also included.

Cooler master once again ignoring the community. While all my own builds are water cooled i would never suggest to take air cooling support out of the nr200. The vast majority run air coolers on it, its insane they did this. No one asked for vertical gpu mount only. They literally made the nr200 worse for the 2nd time. Yes the max was a worse case, there are reasons why lots of nr200 users recommends against it. Not to mention the quality issues with the aio and psu you pay a premium for.
All cooler master need it to do was to put those new vented panels, the type c would of been nice, and the cut out at the bottom to fit matx boards. People could of still fit a 240aio at the top if they wanted to like i done a few times.
