Garstang Area by Drone and a Wet Blanket . . .

- With lockdown in the UK now into it's 4th week - and considering that the possibilities for enjoyable outdoor activities are proving few and far between - join me as I take a quick tour by drone of the local area around Garstang in Lancashire, including the Lancaster Canal, as well as the picturesque and sizeable Garstang Marina.
Fortunately I manage to capture a good impression of the area, before a social justice warrior arrives - and eliminating any enjoyment I'd gained from the experience. Ho hum . . .

Being reasonable with people no longer works as they all want to be offended, so why not give them something to be offended about.
Remember there's no expectation of privacy in public... People always make me chuckle when they talk about privacy when out in public?? ... Common sense isn't very common anymore 🙄... Good to see your doing OK ignore the haters 😁👍

Agreed and made all the more difficult by the current situation. So so hard to find creative things to do at the moment. 😎
Problem is once heard the comment can't be unheard and that is what spoils one's day even if you did give him a decent FO tablet.
@@CountryHouseGent I always do that as well. Its usually about 2 hours later when I think of the perfect witty response I should have made. I will never make a stand-up comic, way too slow to fight off the hecklers.

'm so sorry that fellow came along because before that it was amazingly beautiful-the countryside, the marina, the town, a lovely April day in England. What a great escape, and how delightful to see details about how the drone works, too. I loved the use of the camera on the tripod, and how you clearly explained what you were doing. I also am amazed at how stable the drone camera is, I'd think it would be crazy shaky or at least wobbly. For a little while, enjoying the views, I forgot our strange times and stresses-but then that unpleasant comment. I wish that man could know there are hundreds of people out here cheering you on, enjoying and applauding your camera skills. I wish he knew how carefully you WERE providing for privacy, and how you had gotten permission to be there. The only silver lining is we did get the "full" drone experience which apparently includes a passerby with a critical word. ps I'm glad you took a week "off"!
I was with a friend when he was flying a drone, when some person came up and complained about their privacy, now normally my friend shall we say is not the most polite person when someone pees him off, but this time he said to the gent come and have a look at what we see, he came over and within 10 minutes was flying the drone under my mates supervision. Super shots of Garstang an area I know well but never seen from above, and Booths is a great shop.

it is a good one and a NEW one - I would never have thought of that - will try to remember.. good attitude. The grumps do have a way of destroying your joy but rather than take on their stress - maybe anticipate it will come and keep a response like this in your pocket - allowing for a pause to give them a chance to adjust to your unexpected answer -

So sorry Kevin for people like that. Sadly with this lock down some people have gone totally mad. Watching and timing their neighbours when going out for walks and reporting them. You are so respectful in everything you do. Really enjoyed this video. Yes it spoiled my viewing also. Even made me nervous. Keep up the videos really enjoy them.

Your Amazon and CZcams channels have helped keep my wife and I sane over the last many months. Thanks! I'm an experienced RC plane and drone builder (since 1970). Next time a person asks you if you're concerned about privacy, say "Of course I am. Please come over and see what I'm seeing." When they see there's no way you could be looking in windows they will realize there are no privacy issues in what you are doing. Then say "Since you are as concerned about privacy as I am, how do you feel that everything there is to know about us is on the internet, and Google Earth shows our back yards and street view?".

I'v been watching your video's for some time now Kevin, and they are a great escape from what's going on in the "Real world". I am a guy with a dog who's just turned the big 60,(not the dog),? and wondering where my life is going? In the early 1980's I had great holiday on a canal boat with my Love, in all weathers One Spring. Snow and Ice as we pulled away from marina, to rain and sunshine, over the coming days, of that glorious weeks holiday. I feel canal life is calling me back, one day soon I hope! Keep up the good work with the video's of Beautiful scenery, Healthy cooking for "Growing men" who like their food, and maybe even you playing a bit of guitar? Keep on Rockin Kev !!!
