- Some tips to make this process even easier is to take a picture of the lock currently installed BEFORE removing it. The reason for doing so is to create a cheat sheet for you to reference back to in case you need a "finished product" to refer to.
Step 1: Push up on Entrypad to remove it from the shoulder bolts. Then pull out horizontally to expose the wiring behind the entrypad.
Step 2: Remove 9v Battery
Step 3: Remove 4-pin cable from retainer clip
Step 4: Pinch end connector of 4-pin cable inside the entrypad to disconnect from the safe.
Step 5: Remove back panel of safe door to expose the EL-0601 swingbolt lock
Step 6: Remove relocker plate if present
Step 7: Remove 3 screws holding lock onto the safe door
Step 8: Pull 4-pin cable out of the door spindle hole.
Done!
To install a new entrypad and lock after having removed the old product.
Step 1: Run 4-pin cable through spindle hole
Step 2: Guide 4-pin cable through channel to prevent the lock from pinching/smashing the wire.
Step 3: Ensure there is 2-3mm of clearance between the lock and the safe bolt work to prevent the lock from staying open.
Step 4: Screw the lock in place using the 3 screws to mount.
Step 5: Mount relocker plate/bar/pin/cable if one is present
Step 6: Plug 4-pin cable into new entrypad
Step 7: stuff excess cable into the back of the entrypad and place on shoulder bolts
Step 8: Push down on entrypad to lock the entrypad to the shoulder bolts on the front of the safe.
I screwed up! I tried to change the supersede in my basic lock and messed it up. I don't know the exact number I entered and the secure system keeps activating and prevents me from continuously trying. Can I recover and how?
I am afraid if you dont know either of the codes: the manager code or the user code, there is no way to open the safe lock.
@@securamThank you for your reply. I do know the user code and am able to open the safe. It is the manager code I messed up.
@@sterlingpeters3412 That is good news. With the safe door open you will need to access the back of the lock body. You will find a reset hole on the back of the lock body. Once you have access to the lock body, please call our office at 805-988-8088 and we can walk you through the reset process.
@@securam If I replace the basic keypad with the biometric I'd need to do the reset and call, correct?
@@davidpenrosejr3698 Correct you would need to reset the lock
Poor quality product. Entry pad went bad and locked me out of my safe.
Y’all can’t afford a safe to actually show the process? 🤦🏼♂️🤣
