Unfortunately the only option at this point is to have a locksmith come and drill the safe open.

Just had the same experience, they stopped keeping the master codes for any of their safes. DON'T buy Canon safes!!! BTW, locksmith said between 900.00 to 1200.00 dollars to drill and open the safe. Further the smith said the current gen of digital SG don't last more than a few years, so you are guaranteed to need some way to get into the safe.

This process pairs the lock with the entrypad for all ProLogic entrypads. It does not reset the codes to factory default if that is what you are trying to do. You must know the codes as set in the lock. There is another process to reset the lock to factory default if you don’t know the codes. This is called a Recovery and can only be completed by a licensed locksmith.

Why only a licensed locksmith? If I bought the security container and it included the lock and someone has changed the super code from the factory default - why would I need a licensed locksmith? Why wouldn't Securam provide the information directed in step 6 of Ch 7 of the owner's manual to the owner of the lock that's affixed to the security container I own? @@Securamsys

01/09/2023 0936-0957 - I just spoke with a SecuRam Customer Service agent. And although I told them I am not a locksmith or a law enforcement officer, I was able to breech your stated security protocol specified on your electronic lock recovery request and they provided me with a recovery key to your combination lock. I could easily have been a thief and your agent just provided me the key to open a container. How do you explain their actions? @@Securamsys

it should not need to be changed that often. This suggest there is a power issue and likely a damaged cable or damaged component. I would suggest contacting a locksmith to have the lock evaluated and possibly replaced.

The industry standard for safe lock installation, is that the safe manufacturers maintain a Manager code (in the case of an electronic lock) or the combination (in the case of a mechanical lock) and log it against the safe serial number. They do this to assist customers in the event that the customer loses their code. The alternative is that the safe must be drilled open.

Canon no longer maintains master reset codes so you are out of luck! They advise drill your safe...

I found that out when I got a reply from Canon. I just can't believe they don't keep manager codes on file anymore..

@@aaronl.8580 It's BS, they are not interested in customer service. Further once you drill your safe it is never secure unless you weld the hole shut, anyone can open the safe with a stiff wire... I am just going to cut mine open with a grinder and replace the lock with a mechanical and weld it back together. Safe guy says plan on at LEAST $600.00 as the best case if he drills and changes lock, assuming all goes well. Will cost me less in paint, time and welding...

I have two Cannon vaults they have the NL lock. Can I install your locks on my Canon vaults. Or is there a way to wipe the master code from a NL lock. I don’t see the reset hole I even took apart the lock there’s no buttons on the circuit panel.

Factory reset I know will set it back to 111111. I’m assuming that it can be changed just like any other code. The problem is we don’t know the code and Liberty does.

The Super code is individualized, but the Recovery Code is generally default. If you are trying to reset your lock to factory default, please contact a local locksmith. The locksmith can then contact us to perform this service for you.

@@cdutch513 To be very clear, SECURAM does not have a database of codes for any electronic locks we sell. All locks leave our manufacturing facility with default codes and the instruction manual clearly states that the installer is to change those codes to unique codes for security purposes.

The default manager code has been changed from 111111 to a unique code for security purposes by the safe manufacturer. You will need to contact your safe manufacturer to get the unique code.

The reset code will not be 000000, this is initiates the change code process. You will need to contact the safe manufacturer who installed you lock to get the Reset code

You would need to contact a registered locksmith to get a recovery code.

That's the lock itself

Most often if a malfunction occurs changing the keypad resolves the issue. On the rare occasion when a lock itself malfunctions a locksmith would be required to by pass the lock mechanism by drilling a small hole to defeat the lock

@@jeremybrookes7006 thank you Jeremy. Would you recommend replacing the lock body after “x” number of years regardless of it’s functionality status, so as to prevent a malfunction occurring in the first place? and I take it that drilling a hole in the safe may damage it beyond repair?

@@kc7136 Usually safe lock electronic system last for about 10 years. so I would recommend changing at that interval.

@@jeremybrookes7006 thanks again Jeremy. By the way is there a way to look up the date of manufacture through the serial number on the lock body as the safe is new but the lock body could have been installed 3 years ago.

@@jeremybrookes7006 I like the old-school combo locks with three numerals. Most all gun safes have these types today. It must be way cheaper.

If you are using a Securam safe lock currently then yes the BackLit and TopLit entrypads are interchangeable

@@securam - Thanks for replying. I just want to be 100% clear.... If I buy a Liberty Safe with the normal SecuRam toplit, I can just swap out the keypad for the backlit without messing with the locking parts at all...right?

@@glockman9c Yes that is no problem. The BackLit is compatible with the Lock body used with the TopLit keypad.
