These salads are very unusual and contain Burmese ingredients that are not typical in Western salads. Dried shrimp, chick pea flour, fried onion and garlic, fish sauce, cilantro, sesame seeds, green onions, variety of fried lentils and peanuts are some additions. The most unique item is laphet, fermented young tea leaves only made in Burma. These salads are simple to make and have very little oil or anything artificial or chemical.

Aloha Lenora, those salads look yummy! Have u tried grating the palm sugar? Mahalo nui loa for sharing these recipes!
They sell palm sugar in a jar that is more syrupy and easier to use. I hope you can find some.
Do you think the Burmese restaurant on Oahu near University Ave serves this? Near Hawaiian Humane Society and Pucks Alley on King Street?
