    Foam cannons help to blanket your car with a thick layer of snow foam. They combine pressurized water and car wash soap to create a thick layer of foam. They feature an adjustable intake valve that controls how much snow foam you’d like to produce. This creates a blanket of foam that will lubricate the surface, giving you a lesser chance of leaving any micro-scratches when you wash your car. A foam cannon also helps to remove loose dirt, contaminants and pollen during the pre-wash stage.
    In this foam cannon comparison video, you'll see how to use a foam cannon for a car wash. In the car detailing world, many professionals and enthusiasts love using a foam cannon or foam lance as a pre-wash stage before they go ahead and manually wash their cars. It's a safe way to add lubrication to your paintwork. By the way, I have done foam cannon reviews on all the foam cannons presented in this video. Feel free to watch those videos on my channel.

      I have been happy with my DUSICHIN SFL-001 Foam Cannon Snow Foam Lance which is $16.50 om Amazon. Curious how the Dusichen would match up with the Maxshine or MTM for Use and durability. I think it is more about the Foam Shampoo, so I am sold on the Adams Mega Foam. With my Dusichen I get very similar results compared to the higher end foam cannons. I do use closer to 3oz shampoo to 16oz H2O.

  • @joshdumfey3359
    @joshdumfey3359 Před 5 lety +14

    It looks like they all produce pretty good foam. I have been trying out pressure washers along with a couple of foam cannons.
    All electric:
    - Ryobi - RY 142300 - 2,300 psi 1.2 gallon per minute (gpm)
    - Sunjoe - SPX3500 - 2300 psi 1.48 gpm
    - Karcher - K1700 - 1700 psi 1.2 gpm
    I found that I get the best gpm (1.36) using the Karcher and playing with the nozzles. I have no idea how the idea how the SunJoe reports 1.48 gpm, best I could get was 1.25 gpm even playing with the nozzles. The Ryobi has about the same flow as advertised. With the Karcher and the selected nozzle (40° - 3.0) I get about 1000 psi. In my opinion you don't need more than 1000 psi to clean a car.
    The foam cannons I have are the PF22 and the Adams foam cannon. I have swapped out the 1.2 mm orifice on both foam cannons to 1.1 mm.
    I like the Tri-Nova (wide base and wide mouth - easy fill no tip) design but looks like it uses a lot more product.
    It looks like the Max Shine and MJCC both produce decent foam. I would have no problem buying any of those 3 but would recommend swapping out the orifice if you have a lower flow pressure washer like I do.
    The Adams is a great snow foam cannon, but it accidentally toppled of the cart and the bottle broke (which was replaced).
    That leaves the PF22 which is my go to foam cannon. I wash the car once a week so it gets a fair amount of use (nothing like how much the pros use theirs).
    I just got in the Adams Mega Foam and I'm trying it this weekend. Normally I'm using Griot's snow foam which produces nice thick foam even with my low flow pressure washers.
    IMO, buy what fits your budget. They are all decent foamers. I suspect the PF22 might last the longest because it is a heavy duty assembly compared to the others. If you have a low flow electric pressure washer, swap out the orifice to a 1.1 mm easily found on amazon. ( I bought MTM's orifice as they are made from stainless. www.esotericcarcare.com/mtm-hydro-low-flow-foam-cannon-orifice/ )
    Love all your videos Pan. Thanks for all your time and effort !!!

    Thanks for this comparison! Trinova is my choice. Best cost vs. value. Honestly, I couldn't see any difference in the foaming of all 5 cannons. The big selling point for me regarding the Trinova is its wide base and wide mouth. Just a lot easier to pour ingredients without spilling. I know you said the Trinova uses more product, but I'm not washing enough cars for that to be an issue. Also, perhaps more product allows the Trinova foam to clean a bit better than the others.

    TBH they all look so similar considering there difference in price and MTM PF22's reputation.
    Also he is very correct about different situations and more importantly than variables is the condition on the water. The harder it is, the less the soap can properly bond and mix which results in lack luster thickness/richness/density of the foam.

    Thanks for the review, but the only thing missing is longevity, but that's understandable. I hate when you buy a product and in a short time it starts leaking or the plastic cracks, the thickness and quality of the plastic is a major concern for longevity, most of this plastic and rubber is coming out of China and degrades within a year.

    I have the Trinova foam cannon. I use it with a gas powered pressure washer with 2,300 PSI. I use the same mix ratio. The soap I use is chemical guys honeydew snow foam. I have a black Dodge Durango. The Trinova foam cannon produces enough foam that you can't tell what color my truck is, it completely covers it. Also, the wide opening on it is great. There's no spilling of the soap. East to fill. Pan mentioned that the Trinova goes through the most product. But I wouldn't worry about that at all. I could easily foam my entire truck 3 times with the mix of 2 ounces of soap to 16 ounces of water. My son just got it for me as a father's day gift this year, so I can't speak of its durability yet. You are right. Many factors play a role in the quality and quantity of foam, including:- type of pressure washer

    I live in Colorado, USA and have primarily all Adam’s products. However, I have found their foam cannon a very sub-par product. Not only is it extremely top-heavy and constantly falling over unless propped up against something, but the threads on the bottle have worn within a year to the point that the canister does not stay screwed into the nozzle. Their foam cannon has mad me waste a lot of product from it constantly falling over or falling apart and dumping the soap mixture inside. I think I will be trying out the Trinova next! Thanks for the great reviews Pan!!

    Great comparison! I had a Chemical guys TORQ foam cannon and it was a piece of junk. Kept clogging in the soap pickup and as a result would make no foam. Have a PF22 now, couldn’t be happier!

    • @MstrMiner
      @MstrMiner Před 5 lety +1

      Burke Abbott yes, I’ve got the TORQ as well, and agree total piece of crap and waste of $$$. No matter which setting or how much soap used, it gave a miserable weak foam. Just lashed out and got the PF22. What a difference, night and day! super thick and rich foam just like in the video. Can’t believe all of them produced awesome foam though, many a lot cheaper than the Chem Guys TORQ. Only good think I liked was the wide base and opening, made it easy to add water and soap, and was sturdy when you put it down. I find the MTM a little too heavy and easy to topple over...but I can live with that because of the foamy awesomeness it shoots out!

    • @BurkeAbbott
      @BurkeAbbott Před 5 lety +1

      Agreed! I paid $90 for my CG Torq foam cannon and from day one it never sprayed foam well. Build quality is horrible. Its top heavy so it always falls over when its empty. The seal on the screw top also broke before my 2nd use, so it doesnt even screw on the right way. That cannon was an immense waste of money and I regret ever spending almost $800 on mostly CG products. The only thing I will buy from them again is the VRP unless I find a better tire dressing, and the Silk Shine because of the new car scent for an interior dressing. Also, the spray top on CG bottles is terrible, almost all of mine end up breaking before I can even use whats in the bottle.
      On that note, can anybody recommend a better product for tires and interior dressing that provides the same qualities?

    • @BurkeAbbott
      @BurkeAbbott Před 5 lety

      Jordan Flores CarPro PERL is awesome. I’ll never use anything else, and you will not be disappointed. Especially since it can be diluted with ratios included on the bottle for engine bay, interior, tires, etc.

    I think you forgot to mention the nozzle hole diameter, it has a very important role in foam quality. If you don't have a professional pressure washer as the one in this video, you can use a smaller nozzle for a thicker foam. I bought a foam cannon that had 2 nozzles and it was specified that you should use the smaller one for a not so powerfull pressure washer.

    Trinova is my #1 pick of the five due to the oversized throat and bottom of the fill bottle and it's moderate in price and just as effective in appling foam as the most expensive! I haven't personally tried any of these foam cannons but the one I would buy is Trinova!

My gun choice was Mtm hydro sg28 hooked to a 2.8 gallon per minute washer. The Dusichin gun is a POS. Mine blew a seal behind the trigger after 4 minutes of use the 1st time. The cannon has lasted a long time though.

    I've been using the MTM PF22 for several years, very satisfied.
    The difference I see is when I use different pressure washers, $200-$1000 machines give different results.
    They all get the job done but higher quality foam with higher quality machine.....duh !!
    I use the same four soaps regularly, three of which are ph balanced, the fourth is a citrus-base for heavy cleaning.
    The foam cannon is a must-have for my 18 wheelers, but I use it for the pickups, van, and Mama Ozo's SUV.
    With a good ceramic coating, applied properly, regular washings are so simple and quick, with excellent results.

    Hi Pan, I'm a big fan of your videos. I started detailing because of you and motivated me. Currently using the double bucket wash method, however I want to upgrade. Do you think Ryobi 1,500 PSI will foam nice or do you think I need a higher pressure washer? Please advice 🙏

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for the positive feedback about my videos! Glad I could serve as an inspiration to my viewers. The Ryobi has enough PSI, but what's more important for good foam, is the GPM (gallons per minute) of water output. The higher that number, the thicker and richer the foam will be. My pressure washer outputs a stout 2.1 GPM, but you should have at least 1.3 GPM or more to get decent foam. Other factors also influence how much foam you get including:
      1) Type of pressure washer
      2) Type of foam cannon
      3) Type of snow foam
      4) Dilution ratio of snow foam
      5) Water quality (soft or deionized water always beats hard water)

      Many factors influence the richness and thickness of foam including:
      - type of pressure washer

      - type of snow foam
      - dilution ratio of snow foam
      - hard water vs soft water

    Trinova. Big base, large opening for fluids. Works great.

    Hi Pan. Thank you for all of the information you provide. I have a question that I have not seen anyone address. Like most people, I do not have a pressure washer. Is there a way to foam a car by just using a regular hose? And if so, would such a method produce good results?

      You can buy a foam gun that attaches to your garden hose. But obviously you’ll never get the level of thick rich foam you’d get with a proper pressure washer and foam cannon.

    So I am brand new to all of this, I wanna get an electric pressure washer and foam cannon. We live in an apt complex so our cars are exposed 24/7, I don't have a huge budget and I am finding it difficult to find (for me) a "budget friendly" electric pressure washer that pumps that much GPM. I have found one thats 2030 psi and 1.74 GPM. Will that work? I have also heard that people have been reducing the orifice in the cannon to a 1.1 to simulate the increase in GPM. Thanks! New to your channel and really have been enjoying it. Thanks!

    très intéressant, difficile de voir une réelle différence sauf pour le MTM avec son jet horizontale.
    le MJJC peut ce trouver sur aliexpress pour un prix entre 15/20€ :)

    Your not the only crazy one here ... I'm washing 2 to 3 times in the summer & sometimes more in the winter at my indoor wash bay in my condo's underground . cheers 🇨🇦💪🏼

    My $18 foam cannon from walmart does EVERYTHING I need. No sense in spending that much for one when they make cheaper ones out there.
