Nice truck! Love the stance it has, looks like it’s ready to go eat! I’m in a similar situation where I’m adding boost to stock internals on 2010 4.6 3v and although it’s been very well maintained, I get nervous it’s gonna break something! But that’s part of the addiction! Great build!

I saw that Banks video too and thought it was a shame they put that out there, because they really did a disservice to these little Powerdynes, which are a great entry level blower. One of his problems is that he's still using the factory air box instead of an open conical filter, so he's probably losing 1-2 psi right there, and then if it has the stock pulley which is only good for 5 psi, he'll be lucky if he's making 4 psi. He's probably pulling too much timing as well.
I put a Powerdyne pullied for about 6.5 psi on a '93 Lightning I had, and the only other mods were a shift kit, long tube headers with custom dual exhaust, smog pump delete, open conical air filter, and MSD6BTM ignition. The guy I sold it to dyno'd it and it made 307hp at the wheels.

Im in the middle of installing a new dizzy on mine. Cold weather put me to a halt haha.
But if i were you i’d try and maxx system first before moving onto something else. Think a guy told me 9lbs is maxx for this setup cause of the internal belt.
Yeah I heard that also. I’m currently just adding new bearings & belt for the supercharger to get max output from it first. Then we’ll see we’re that puts me.

Mass air is a waste of time and money. Next step is PiMPxShift by Stinger Performance or Holley with Quick4 trans controller.
I use the PiMP because it’s in the same 60 pin plug. It’s as close to plug and play as you will find.

When I pull a smaller pulley on my powerdyned 95 it was a huge difference.
Going to definitely give that a try & upgrade the bearings

Looks good I was going with mass air on mine but I have also heard of the holley system that someone else mentioned in the comments. I have no experience with either so I have no real opinion.🤔
I’m leaning more towards the Holley system I want to eventually do the digital dash

I just watched a video on this truck came from the factory.. eith about 196 horsepower.. witho the blower it got eight horsepower and 65ftlb of torque in does lower the power band

Those are good numbers. Actually lighting hp numbers were under rated they usually put down in the 215-220 stock. My son dynoed his lightning last week there in the Houston area and it made a crazy number like 291

Guys offering me a pro charger for my 93 lightning for 500 bucks not sure if I should get or not what do you think ?
Have you thought about tuning it yet? I’ve heard good things about pimpxshift ( more for cammed or or stroked 351) but with that power adder it might be great. I seem to hear it struggling to find a gear in your intro. I’m planning on running that setup one I get back to my lightning rebuild in May. Side note, what editor do you use? I like my cheaper Adobe but it doesn’t seem to like adding music or downloaded cut scenes and I’m trying to upgrade.
Actually it runs really good with no tune. That little surge in the intro was a cracked vacuum lines causing that. I have been looking into Holley EFI though but not quite convinced yet. I use KineMaster really easy to use
@@JJBanuelos oh that’s right this intro was shot before you upgraded the vacuum lines and added that port/tree. I absolutely love the truck, you’ve done an amazing job on upgrades so far man. Glad it’s running strong! Hopefully I can get mine as nice in the future! Definitely inspiring me with some tips tricks and ideas....the supercharger is on my wishlist but I’m going no power adder first because I can’t justify the extra 2 to 3k adder just yet ( basically I have to figure out a way to hide it from the wife 😂) keep em coming brother! Love the videos!

Max out current setup first then start upgrading and see where it leads you. 👍🙋🏻♂️

Just ordered my impeller today so should be tearing it apart soon & seeing what this will do. Hoping for 10psi & then I’ll dyno it again
That engine needs a set of heads and more boost. A lot of boost.
I’m curious to see what those will do with a turbo set up.
I would throw 150 shot of nitrous, that’s just the cheapest way to make power. Stud the heads and hit it with a 200 shot.

@@fransiscolopez1305 I did that to my 95 cobra when I first got it. Kept blowing head gaskets. Stud’d the thing and never had another issue ever again. 🤷🏻♂️
Thats pretty good gains from stock running gear... i just picked up a 94 single cab short bed f150 myself and my dad is wanting to do a lightning clone... heres a thing to think about tho... was that other guys truck a lightning? Cause a real lightning had GT40 heads on it which you can tell be the three ribs on the front of the cylinder head... if you have those then thats why you made way better power cause the GT40 heads are 150 cc intake runners compared to the 130-135 cc intake runners from the plain heads... my truck is a straight 6 which im thinking of upgrading just to have something different... it sounds like youre in texas, im down in the rgv... maybe after i get my truck built we could have a shoot out 🤷🏽♂️

Yup you have to think, that supercharger is 90s technology, would be fun for sure but putting a custom turbo kit on there and you'll double the horsepower !

What transmission is in your truck ? And what's done to it ?
Stock trans with punisher valve body.
Are you still running the factory fuel pump?
Yes but I also have an inline walbro 255 pump that’s activated via boost controlled by Hobbs switch
How are you currently tuning the truck?
Basically just with the fmu, & what the injectors can push out. Timing is adjusted via the MSD boost box.
I got a full bolt on build on my white 95 my 8th mile time with junk converter was a 8 flat so there's a calculator out there that will give me my power range
That’s pretty good man. I want to get a little more power first before I make my first trip to any track.
hey still need a baseline my first trip down bone stock with bad cap and rotor I run a 9.6 8th I have a friend here local that runs 6s but he dont do alot of CZcams he has a video of his but no runs also is the paint and bodywork stock on your truck I need a measurement for my new badges on the bed

If you added after market heads, injectors and cam you will gain way more horsepower. Your stock heads and cam are holding that pro charger back. You would probably be north of 550hp
It's not a pro charger it's a powerdyne. Pro charger is a brand if centrifugal supercharger not an actual TYPE of supercharger I've seen this misconception alot.
A cam and heads won’t pick up 200+ hp
@@musclecity06 from bone stock truck heads and cam to CNC ported high compression heads with big valves and a big cam on a boosted application can make more than 200hp all day long. Just the difference between generic aluminum heads with generic crap springs vs. a set of good heads with porting with better springs is 100+ hp alone

Back in 1997 I had a powerdyne on my stock 1995 lightning made 330 to the wheels with the powerdyne.I still have the truck

I don't even think Whipple makes blowers for these could be wrong. The pushrod cars and trucks are mostly just centrifugal blowers and turbo kits.
