    What an absolutely beautiful skid plate. I'm glad I found this before purchasing one from somewhere else because I'm definitely going to go with this one.

      I’ve been beating it up for 2 years on the 701. It’s in GREAT shape. You wont’ be disappointed.

    I’m glad I watched this before attempting my installation. Thank you!

  • @verdonrocksphotography3510

    excellent plate/look, have on my bike from the same material and I love it.....thnx, V!

      Thanks! I definitely mis-spoke though. HDPE has been my catch all for materials like this but in fact this is "UHMW" which is supposedly stronger. I looked it up and it was a great read.

    Just about to comment that you'd missed installing the shock rubber bushings for the skid plate pegs....Ho I did 😆 the Vanache kit so nice

      Hah, I literally installed this, started editing the video and realized my error then went back down and re-shot it and put that clip in. Glad I caught it.

    (New Subscriber) Looks Good :-) That's some bike stand you've got there Adam :-)

    Looks good and I like it.
    Only thing I dislike is the internal nuts are no flat and can hit engine?
    I think better solution should be flat riveted nuts

      I'd agree with that. I definitely love the undercarriage achieved near flat with the way the plastic sort of compresses as you screw things in. I'm sure it'll hold up to anything I personally will throw at it. Fair point though on a massive bang pushing things into the case.

    Hi Adam - thx for ur informative video 😊 Did you also consider the AXS skid plate? Do you know if they're made from the same / similar material. Also, really like the look of your engine casing covers - would you mind letting me know what they are? All the best, Stevie (Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿)

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  Před 6 měsíci

      Good question, the AXS is HDPE and 8MM thick. The Vanasche is UHMW and is 9.5mm thick. I'm not a materials expert but I hope you don't mind doing some googling on the differences between those two materials and maybe it'll help you make a decision on which one will work best for you. I went Vanasche because it was thicker but not really backed by any known science.

    Great review! How much does it weigh? In metric units please;)
    Edit: Oh and how does the abba sky lift work for the bike? I am contemplating getting one.

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  Před 2 lety

      The lift is fantastic. You'll need to specify your bike when ordering so they include the correct adapters. they didn't know what my bike would require at first but now if you tell them KTM 690, they'll have the right sizes. I use the sky lift on the Husky and two BMWs and it's a fantastic problem-free lift. as for weight, it can't be more than 1-1.5 KGs

    How is the plate holding up? Debating between the AXP or spending a little extra for the Vanasche which looks like it has better protection. Only plus with the AXP is that you don't have to remove for oil changes.

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  Před 3 lety +1

      I've been beating this one up the past few days (check latest videos). It's very strong. AXP is the most popular choice for KTM riders...seems like everyone likes them a lot. I don't think you can go wrong with either and no need to spend more than you have to. I think the Vanasche has the coolest looking design. It really hugs the frame perfectly and has that nice brake cylinder guard to the linkage.

      @@AdamChandler86 have you actually hit a rock ledge or big rock or anything yet? Just curious. I want this bashplate. Looking at it it looks sufficient for trees, rocks getting thrown up etc. I'm talking about lifting the front tire to clear a rock and bashplate hitting that rock kind of stuff. Some stuff I ride gets nasty. Just wondering how it would do in this situation. Thanks in advance.

    That skid plate will certainly work well. Do you think they could make one for the GSA? O:)) Another few weeks before you go on the first ride I guess! Cheers

    • @AdamChandler86
      @AdamChandler86  Před 3 lety

      I'd like that a lot. It's a company called Molecule that makes them. I should send them an email. I think we're like 1 week away from any ride but 2 would be more appropriate. I'm itching!
