- Today, another full-size Star Wars helmet to add to the collection! This time? The Black Series Mandalorian Death Watch helmet from Hasbro. This helmet is worn by the clan that rescues Din Djarin during the raid on his planet by Separatist Forces battle droids during the Clone Wars. We get some great shots of that action during flashbacks Din has in the first season of the Disney Plus streaming service television show. That looks pretty darn good. The Mandalorian helmet fit my big head even without taking out the inside piece which surprised the hell out of me.
BRANDON! Good to see you! And yeah, this one is pretty cool to look at. And if the Mandalorian helmet fit your head, I think this one would also with no issue. I compared this one to the Mando helmet off-camera, and I don't think they are the same sculpt. The Mando helmet has a thinner profile, a thinner T-visor and the molding pieces seem different. Are you gonna pick this one up? If so, I think you'll like it!

It may be a repaint, but I like the look. Hell, Hasbro is going to repaint the VC-186 Boba Fett figure 9 ways to Sunday and I say “BRING IT BABY!!!!” 😄

I have so many Gollum moments with toy collecting, the rational part of my brain knows it's just a bit of a cash-grab repaint, but "We wants it, we needs it".
I wish they'd make a little bit more effort with tweaking the moulds generally for repaints but (including in this instance) they're usually good enough to justify the purchase.
I'm sure it'll look great as part of your display.
"Gollum moments!" THAT is the perfect way to put it! It's so obviously a repaint, but the Mandalorian helmet style is so sleek and cool, and this color scheme is just beautiful! I has to hab it! NOW! And to be honest, once I added it to my Mando cabinet, it really rounded out the other two I have and looks slick! Thanks for checking out the video!

It really is nice, isn't it, Marc?! I totally don't mind that they cut corners in the repaint since they did such a good job with the color scheme and paint application. It's such an interesting finish. And it looks GREAT in my helmet case with the Mandalorian and Boba Fett helmets! Mission accomplished!

This is my very first helmet, I´m actually building up an armor for Halloween and this is the cherry on the pie, while yeah I understand It´s a bit disappointing they didn´t polish the damage on Boba´s I get the sensation it actually gives it a bit of depth, for me it looks cool, and it´s been fun calling out everyone getting it a "Brother" on social media, since now it seems we are the big "death watch clan" sooo lots of fun

It is a VERY nice helmet, Jim. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it. And I used 12" brushed metal paper towel holders as stands. Here in Arizona. my wife picks them up for me a few at a time from our local Costco when they go on sale, but you can find similar ones just about anywhere housewares are sold. Great video. They have a slightly different one out now... at least i believe it's different in color but they are asking 145 for it which i find to be a bit much. Thanks for helping me save some money.
Thanks, Traveling. I'm glad to hear this video helped a little. I didn't know they had augmented this one any in subsequent releases. And yeah, Unlike many of the other recent Black Series helmets which you can still find in-stock at retail, this one seemed to have a smaller run, and is now only available on the secondary market for the most part. And with that, comes higher prices as you've noted. You can still pick up the Mando helmet, the Boba Fett helmet and the Bo Katan helmet at places like Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth, so unless you're just a huge collector like me, you can probably pass on this one for sure. I really like that color on it, that color looks marbleized , nice. I will skip this one though, I really want the repainted Boba helmet for sure, going to wait on that one, but definitely a great looking addition
Right, Cirespeed?! The look they achieved with dappling effect is simply mesmerizing. It could have look silly with the purple and blue colors, almost like a cartoon character, but they avoided that deftly and produced something to behold. I really like this one. And yeah, I could totally see passing on this one, though, if helmets aren't your main jam. And I have that repainted Boba Fett on order as well. Can't wait to see that one!
@@PaulsCollectibles I have around 11 helmets but funny enough I do not have a Boba Helmet, I do have Mando helmet though but saving my moolah for that repainted Boba.. I would love if they made a heavy infantry mandalorian helmet 👊😎

Nice, Ultima! I bet that is going to look great! I painted an Incinerator Trooper helmet into an Artillery Trooper helmet a few years ago and it was a fun project. When I get around to it, I have an extra Phase II Clone helmet I'm going to paint into the purple deco of Mace Windu's troopers. I hope your project is fun and comes out great. This was my first helmet pickup. I really like this helmet, the only negative is that it doesn't fit too comfy, must be my head is too big. 🤣. Great review. 👍
Oh, nice! this one kind of caught me off-guard. I thought it was just going to be a bland repaint, but the style and texture they used really floored me! It's a great helmet! And if I may be so bold as to offer advice? Pop that adjustable rig out of the inside of the helmet (you can do it without damaging the helmet in case you want to put it back) and grab a bag of bicycle helmet inner pads from your local bicycle shop. Then you can free up a lot of space inside for gargantua heads (like mine) and put a few smaller pads around where you need to so it'll still fit snugly!

For a repaint it still a nice looking helmet. Now your going to need more shelf space. THIS IS THE WAY..
It really is, isn't it Michael. And yeah, the fourth case is filling up quickly. I have one more space left in the bottom and I have a repainted Boba Fett on the way. I'm also in the market for a Bo Katan helmet. Depending on how the repainted Boba Fett helmet looks, it may replace the original in the case. Then the Bob Katan will go in the last space. The final step will be to replace the horribly screen inaccurate AT-ACT Driver helmet I have up top with a ICAT Driver helmet. Then..... I have one more Detolf still in the boxes, but no real room in my studio to put it. Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. But, as you eloquently put it: This is the way! Hmmmm ok nice spot about the quite literal re-paint Paul, I guess they’ve cheaped out slightly there, it looks a lovely helmet though.
However, I think I’ll be passing on this one as I feel like all I’m doing is buying different colour fett helmets, I have other helmets that are more priority right now, but great overview, and “accoutrement “ love it lol 👌

Had I not started my "Mandalorian Case" I might have gotten this one. I'm glad I did. The way they painted this one and the colors they used are really nice. 5:04 just so you know Din Djarin isn't apart of Death Watch. The Watch (or Children of the Watch) and Death Watch are two separate groups. I have a suspicion that in the future we will find out they are linked but at the moment we only know that the Watch and Death Watch are two different groups

Just got mine, absolutely love it, fits differently than the Mando one. It's definitely a repaint, they took the dent out of the exterior but it's still on the interior lol

Do you think that one of these helmets would fit if you wear glasses? Like could you wear glasses under the helmet?
Unfortunately J, I believe the general answer to this would be no. Most of these helmets, especially the Black Series ones, are pretty tight fitting if you're an adult. Consequently, you'd have to take your glasses off. If you were a smaller guy or a child maybe, but otherwise probably not.
I'm 6.3 with a big head. For most hats it's the last 2 tabs for me. That being said u think this will fit well?
Dime, sounds like you and I have nearly the exact same problem. I too am 6'3" and have a size 8 head. I hate snapback hats because it is always the second or the last tab to get it to fit, and that looks silly at times. That being said, all of the Mando helmets from Hasbro, heck, ALL the helmets from Hasbro Black Series in my collection fit comfortably on my gargantua-melon! haha! I think you'll be good to go. Can it handle cold weather? Want to bike with it on
I would say probably not, Red. It's completely open underneath and that would cause an updraft that would freeze your face and be constantly trying to rip the helmet off your head. It's also not padded correctly inside to make the helmet fit snugly and the plastic is nowhere near any rating for safety. In essence, this is basically a toy and should only be used for display or light costuming in my opinion. Thanks for checking out the video!

How do u take the inside head part out
It's anchored by two plastic inserts on each side that are only held in with pressure. If you pull fairly firmly and slowly, they pop right out. You can also pop them back in if you decide you need the head rig later! Happy helmeting, Oscar, and thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

GamerK, I too have a very large melon! 😄 And no, with the head rig inside, it will not fit you. BUT, the head rig pops out easily without damaging anything. It will fit you then. You may want to add some small, adhesive padding inside to make it more comfortable or snug afterwards, but you'll be good to go! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

Just got mine and it doesn’t fit! That ratchet system for the inner helmet harness makes it a 1/4 inch too tight. Any tips on making it fit?
Wow, Ja Ba! I thought I had a big head! This one fits me and I have nearly a size 8 hat size. My suggestion would be to just pop that harness out of the helmet all together. You can do so by pulling it from the mounts inside on the sides of the helmet like you saw me do in the video. They are just tension brackets made of plastic, so you should be able to do so without causing any damage in case you ever want to replace the harness. Then there are all kinds of padding options you can go with to stick inside. At bicycle shops, they should be able to sell you a package of varying sizes of foam padding that has adhesive on one side meant for form fitting bicycle helmets. Then you can mix, match, cut and place pieces in areas of the helmet inside that will cause it to be snug and comfortable on your head, but still fit. This is the method I use for my Etsy shop helmets that come without finishing inside. Hope this works for you and I appreciate you stopping by and checking out the video!

*Din Djarin is not a part of Death Watch. He may had been rescued by them and taken in as a foundling, but his current sect is not part of Death Watch.

Is value of it going up?
That's a good question, Adam, so I did a little research. I cannot find the helmet offered at Entertainment Earth nor Big Bad Toy Store at retail any more. They don't even have them in stock. Oddly, there were none I could find on Amazon either. So, I went to the scalper's paradise, eBay. I did find them there. The average price hovers around just over $200 in-box. So, I guess I am confident in saying that for now, yes, they are going up in value. However, if Hasbro re-issues this helmet, as they have done with several others, that will certainly affect the after-market price. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video.

What is the inner measurements?
I'm not entirely sure, Jake. I know that I have a size 8 head and this one fits me if I take out that head rig inside. Otherwise, it's just a bit small since the strapping system can only open so far. And this is a rarity. Many of the helmets I have don't come close to fitting on my head, so this one, and most of these Black Series helmets, are larger inside and tend to fit bigger heads.

Can that helmet take a blow w a bat to the face you think? Wanted to add this to my home defense collection- “imagine an intruder being greeted by this” I like the devtac ballistic but it’s like $2k
JF, absolutely not. This helmet is thin gauge plastic with no robust support structure inside. It has no ballistic or protective capabilities whatsoever and narrows your field of view. However, in my opinion, a home intruder should be on the floor of your home with two sucking chest woulds long before he/she gets within range to strike you with a baseball bat. Not really interested about this. Its cool helmet but we have gotten soo many Mando helmets recently. Give me Death Trooper or clone helmets next Hasbro! I dare you! I douple dare you!
I can totally see that N.O.W. Hasbro does have a tendency to overuse certain figure and helmet sculpts. As far as clone helmets, and other trooper helmets, I could not agree more! Many of us have been harping on this for a while. Hasbro is leaving a TON of money on the table but not giving the Etsy shops a run for their money! Maybe we will get lucky one day. We shall see!
