As a long time Bullets/Wizards fan, I can tell you that the majority of us fans here in DC are relieved that someone actually took on his contract. Beal's not bad, but he's not worth what his contract pays him. Beal didn't do enough here to be remembered. He set some scoring records but without playoff wins, appearances, or championship or awards, he will be forgotten. I'm excited for the full rebuild.

I watched every single Suns game for the last 5 years, and to those that say scoring wasn’t an issue I disagree.
Whenever you had Durant or Book off the floor you had zero assets that could create their own shot, I watch multiple games where the stars ran up the score only to give it back when they sat. The Beal trade for what you gave up was a good trade for the Suns. I do agree that how they fill out the remaining roster will determine if they are a true contender or a 2nd round potential exit. Sometimes I wonder how these “analysts” get jobs at all…

Yeah what Beal did to the Wizards is disgusting. They gave him a contract that literally no one else would have. He had the only no trade clause in the entire league. And I don’t know who else would have given him $50 mil+ a year. And how did he repay them? Demanding a trade where they got next to nothing back for him. Those second round picks are basically nothing, CP3 will get cut, and Shamet is a bench player. Beal set that franchise back years so he could try to bus ride his way to a ring.
Washington won. We got his awful contract off our payroll. He's Phoenix problem now.

Suns need to get on the phone with Dwight Howard right now, and look for some undervalued high intensity defensive players for the bench. If they have any 2nd round picks they should go for defense oriented players, or more firepower for the bench like Emoni Bates. Im sure Suns can get more 2nd round picks for cash and try to grab a defensive guy and Emoni.

Thank you for making these videos. I am a baseball fan at heart, but I like all sports generally. I do follow the NBA during playoff time. I had never heard of Bradley Beal until a few days ago. Stephen A. was so emphatic about him leaving Portland. I guess the powers that be were listening. It is going to be an interesting upcoming season.

They won every game kd played in the reg szn only lost one game to the clippers. And the only team to beat the nuggets twice when you had Payne, jock landale, and Landry shamet in the starting 5. Most teams run 8 to 12 rotations. The suns can resign Craig, Ross, warren, Okogie, jock landale, ish wainwright they have first dibs on most of these players to be resigned. And they have cam Payne locked on a deal as well. They have guys who can fit with this line up Okogie and Craig are 2 3&D guys that can switch 1-4. Jock landale had way more determination and hustle and offensively and defensively against Jokic that series, not saying he is better but he did a way better job being out there than ayton and biyombo. Ayton and Monty also had a lot of communication issues which was why he was really not playing well in the playoffs but let’s not forget he averaged 18ppg and 10rebs. You can’t just find that and he is a legit 7ft and can catch lobs. His issue is mental and if he can buy in they are deadly. And book in 17 games in the regular season he ran point without cp3 on the court he averaged 31ppg, 8.2ast, on 61% true shooting percentage. And book and kd are not slouches defensively. Staring lineup thinking will be pg: book sg Beal sf Craig PF kd c da. If Da stays I think they should try and package a deal for him to go too Dallas, Indy, or Atl Dallas offers the most you get Tim hardaway, Christian woods. And they try and sign yuta wattanabe on a small contract and brook lopez on the vet minimum. And then you can try and move cam Payne and ish wainwright or Okogie for a markelle fultz or a rj hampton type player to come off your bench. Then starting lineup would be pg:book sg: Beal sf:kd pf:woods c: Lopez. Then your bench you have Hampton or fultz, Tim hardaway, Craig , wattanabe, landale, wainwright, Ross or warren or maybe both. Which would be 13 players with the starting lineup and you rotate off that and Lopez and woods would fit amazing on this team because they space the floor even more because they both can shoot 3’s and rebound and defend in the paint and are bigger in size. And you still have your lob threat with woods. There are moves to make that works out offensively, defensively, and helps them depth wise.

Going this hard into the financial penalties on 3 injury prone stars is insane to me. Maybe if it was 2 solid stars and 1 risky star. But all 3? This could go bad quick. And Beal has no real playoff experience.

booker and beal are injury prone now? beal only missed half of last year cuz the wizards were tanking, before that he was always durable. also beal played 5 playoff games against the sixers in 2021 and averaged 30 on 45% from the field.
He also dropped 38 on the road in Boston in game 7 in 2017. They lost that game, but to say he has “no real” playoff experience is just ridiculous, he’s been awesome in the playoffs in his career.
Beal actually used to go decently deep in the playoffs in the John Wall days. I think they played in a couple second round series that were close and maybe an ECF if I'm not mistaken.

They probably will not win a title next season without a bench and losing future draft picks. These super teams built through free agency have not been as successful as some expected.
Not a big fan of this trade. Offensive firepower wasn’t the issue. Defense and depth was the issue of concern with the Suns. If all three are healthy, this is a top 5 offense for sure and a top 4 seed in the West, but this team will likely be a first or second round exit, unless Ayton takes a huge leap in progression with his game. If I’m the Suns, I would shop around Ayton to see what I can get in return for some depth and a quality center that can protect the rim and crash the boards.
Beal is a massive upgrade from Chris paul and they gave up nothing else to get Beal so it doesn't hurt them

I disagree. I think the problem the suns faced against Denver was that they couldn’t score. They needed more options on offense. Booker and Durant carried too much load offensively. I think you can get defensive players for cheap to plug in.

For this to work, I think KD gotta go back to his old OKC days and be that type of a playmaker. Book, I wouldn’t necessarily rely on him to be the lead decision maker. The Suns are solely banking on Beal to be their spot up shooter and more so just their primary shooter. Beals gonna get a lot of good looks, and that’s gonna come from KD. I think there’s a move for Ayton. If Suns don’t trade Ayton, the blame can only go so much on Ayton. Ayton doesn’t want to be there prior to this ending season or the year before. I think a lot of it has to do with Booker. I think there’s some real chemistry issues between Booker and ayton. At this point, rolling into next season, you’re basically wanting Ayton to be a pure rim running big. Like a Capela, DJ, type of player when that’s not necessarily his game. It is but if that’s all you’re going to be asking him, they’ll find themselves in a worse trade market for ayton than what it’s supposedly is now. When CP3 first got there, Ayton had his best looks and most attempts. And Ayton really started to become a star. The following seasons, booker took shots from Ayton. I don’t think the market is “lean” for Ayton. I believe the real issue is with Booker. Having said those, Ayton definitely not getting any looks, especially with Booker as the main decision maker. I get the suns are basically torching the new CBA and it’s quite possible they won’t even be able to move Ayton but they’ll be shooting themselves in the foot by not trading Ayton. That should’ve been their first move
