    Thanks for Watching. I hope you enjoyed the video. I have seen a couple of comments re the voiceover. For those who missed my community post; following Bone cancer a few years ago I will be admitted to hospital on the 13th, for surgery on the 15th when I will have a Hemipelvic replacement. I will stay until at least the end of the month. During this time I have no choice but to use a voiceover artist as I’m sure the other patients don’t want to listen to me talking to a computer. Sorry

    I knew Tom from the early days of his training in Vancouver. He is a very nice person. Zero percent ego. This is back in 80-82. It was at the old Olympic Gym where you see him walking down the stairs in the video.
    After wrestling he went to California as an outdoor guide at the Sierra Nevada mountains. Later on I sadly found out about the attack on him. If you met him he was your friend.

Was it necessary to show that image to get the point across how brutal the attack was. I would have gotten the point by the description given...that would have been enough for me. Since he was so athletic, its funny he never tried a sport like football where he could have made big money.

    • @mikekrasovec6390
      @mikekrasovec6390 Před 5 dny

      He did try football. He was a lineman in Canadian national football league for a season. He didn't play football in high school or college so despite his size, strength, athleticism and agility he wasn't a very good player. Largely a benchwarmer but did spend some time playing in games. Back then professional strongman competitions didn't pay much and they didn't have various promotions such as how Brian Shaw and the other more recent competitors hype themselves up to generate extra income.

      World's Strongest Man runner-up finishing 2nd to possibly the greatest strongman of all time in Bill Kazmaier.
      3 x consecutive winner of the Le Defi Mark Ten International
      Held the World record in the 18" deadlift for 37years!

    • @mikekrasovec6390

      @@StrengthUniverse he also set several Canadian national records in Olympic lifting and played a season of professional "American" football in the Canadian national football league as a lineman despite not playing football in high school or college (wasn't a *good* football player). Among other stuff. It's worth noting that the guy who pulled more weight than him breaking his 18" height deadlift record wore a deadlift suit, lifting straps which reduced how deep the bottom position was by 1.5-2"/4-5cm plus new and improved PED's broke said record by 2.5kg. Eddie Hall was about 150lbs/68kg heavier and out of competition so able to be fresh vs fatigued from doing all of various events at a WSM competition and beat Tom's record by 1kg.

    Tom McGee came 20 years too early; he was unfortunate to try to break into a business where charm, charisma and character was paramount for success.
    He would have been very successful in the action figure acrobat era of today. Where all it takes is a physique and athletics.
    Ultimate Warrior is 100 times better than Tom McGee. Tom had tiny buttocks as well
