  • Sailing France was a game of two halves, this episode being the first where we didn't have a huge amount of luck with the weather in Brittany. For the most part, it was wet and windy but we did discover a beautiful cruising ground in the Gulf de Morbihan, as long as you're willing to take on the tides.

Having to leave an adventure like that for London must feel like a prison sentence. I don't think I'd be able to concentrate. New to your channel and it's just what I'm looking for. Wonderful vibe from the pair of you.

Why do you have to go back to London? Are you a cat burglar, are you doing a heist? Anyways, a very good video... 😊

I do know a cat burglar or two but no, my trip back to London was far less exciting, I was handing over to my replacement at Tourism NZ.

Hi Bacchus Crew. Found your Channel resently and like it very much 👍🏻. Found you while I was looking for Beneteau Oceanis 361, which I intend to buy as my next yacht. Are you well satisfied with it? I wonder why you have two black chords attached to the solar arch as well as some between the legs of the solar arch and the pushpit. I will probably add an arch to my next yacht, so I’m curious to find out, what will be the correct construction. Hope you can find time to answer my question. As I see more af your movies, I might want to ask you about other things. Hope it will be alright. At the moment I have my 28 feet yacht in Rome. We left Denmark 3 1/2 years ago and sail between 2 and 4 months every year...

Happy to help! We really like the 361, you get a tremendous amount of space for a sub-11metre boat. The black ropes on the solar arch are to stiffen the structure, like a cross-brace. Unfortunately, when we got the arch made, the Engineer did not put enough lateral stiffness in, and the arch could bend and move sideways too much. The cross-bracing has fixed that problem, but I wish the whole structure had been better-designed at the beginning. One thing to check on any Oceanis 361 is the rudder bearings. Ours were very stiff and needed replacing when we bought her. This is a common problem on this boat apparently. Good luck with your purchase!

I never used an anchor ball. Then I was hit by a drunken fisherman and my insurers knocked 20% off my claim. Now I use an anchor ball.
